  1. I was wondering if you had found video of the nudist skydiving eclipse event that was to happen in Texas. I heard about it when an ex-coworker was tasked with reviewing the application.
  2. And now we know you’re either Josef or Andrew… http://people.csail.mit.edu/billf/publications/Discovering_Objects.pdf
  3. This is where the term “event horizon” becomes applicable.
  4. Correct, per SPFL Regulations.. Start at C22, and you’ll find all the rules and how the money is divided. C26B specifically prohibits season tickets for playoffs. https://spfl.co.uk/admin/filemanager/images/shares/pdfs/SPFL Rules and Regulations 26-Jul-23 (MASTER COPY) (2).pdf
  5. Correct, with the GD any combination of you winning points and/or Raith dropping points that totals 8 gives you the title. I’m also looking forward to the debate on Goodwin, it’s likely to get spicy. Now just lose Friday night and keep the league nice and tight, eh…you’d still be in charge of your own destiny and it would be good for attendance figures!
  6. Best guess, using previous years as templates that allowed 6 days between the end of the Semi and the start of the Final… Fri, 3 May, MD 36 (Scheduled) Tue, 7 May, QF 1 Fri, 10 May, QF2 Tue, 14 May, SF1 Fri, 17 May, SF2 Thu, 23 May, F1 (Announced) Sun, 26 May, F2 (Announced) At the most, they might move the Semi’s to Wed/Sat…that would give 5 days between QF/SF and SF/F, however, the weekend of 18/19 is Premeirship MD38, so they’ll probably want the SF2 for the TV Friday night on the 17th.
  7. Social Security (FICA) is certainly contributory. I paid 6.2% every year I worked on all of my earnings at first, and toward the end I'd get a peek above the cap for a month or two. There's also Medicare, with the total rate being 7.65% on every dollar until you reach the FICA cap ($168,800 for 2024), and then it drops to 1.45% on the rest. The pension payment from Social Security is a arduous calculation that heavily weights the first dollars versus the last dollars, so someone hitting the cap can net about three times what someone paying about 20% of the cap every year does. Also, employers have to pay the same amount as employees...which is why identifying workers as "independent contractors" is so popular, they have to pay 15.3% in taxes then.
  8. Since it's in your neck of the woods, thought the distraction might be amusing...Strathspey Railway now and then video.
  9. It's not massively different either...you pay more at first, less later, then more again.
  10. Not dealt with politicos much, have ya? Look at what happening to us. There's been yammerings for years about cutting Social Security for people with high income (hey've been doing it by stealth for years too, by taxing pensions, that should sound familiar). So, just wait, any bad idea that generates income is worth considering, and I'd be very surprised if they didn't look at something like you're hearing proposed too.
  11. Arizona Supreme Court trying to throw the election to Biden: https://www.azcentral.com/story/opinion/op-ed/laurieroberts/2024/04/09/abortion-ruling-disaster-arizona-republicans/73263944007/ Republicans heading for the exits like someone tossed a bomb into a meeting...bodies flying out the doors and windows as they run like hell: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/apr/10/arizona-republicans-against-state-abortion-ban Here's the bottom line, unless the Republicans can defuse this mess, the question becomes "Trump lost to Biden by 10,457 votes in 2020. What policies and measures have Republicans instituted that will attract 5,229 voters PLUS offset every voter lost to this policy?" Women were split 51/48 for Biden, I can't see that doing anything but increasing significantly due to this ruling.
  12. Morton 2 - 1 Dundee United Airdrie 1 - 2 Dunfermline Ayr 1 - 1 Arbroath Queen's Park 2 - 2 ICT Raith 3 - 2 Partick
  13. Live by the sword...they deserve a chance after all the at bats we've had.
  14. Turner was subbed on at the half, and consigned to what was effectively one of the DM roles. That’s something he’s not done well previously, but he had a quite decent go. Now, contrast that with some of his other appearances, and we can see clearly that Airdrie are playing tactically different than our other opponents this year. This is quickly confirmed when we note Airdrie took 10 of 12 points off us this year. That suggests our management’s failure to adapt was more to blame than the players. Meanwhile, if we had duplicated our usual performance versus everyone else bar Arbroath/DU in the league versus Airdrie, we’d have an extra 6-9 points and still be above DU on the table, so anyone attacking our team/manager as inadequate seems to be barking up the wrong tree. I’ll say it again, Airdrie have played IM perfectly this year. They understand his psyche, and they countered his strategy and tactics perfectly. I would expect that won’t work as well the next season they face him, as he will eventually evolve beyond his current predictability to players who worked with him. McCabe spent a year being taught by IM, and learnt his lessons very well, it’s just unfortunate that he got to exercise HIS abilities this season against us and IM.
  15. I suspect this is the hamster. But, on a more serious note… …GordonS is right on. People in service roles often worry about their qualifications, skills, abilities, etc. The ones that don’t ever wonder tend to be psychopathic, narcissist incompetents. It’s human nature to be concerned about one’s role, especially when it’s so important to the people being treated. While passing qualifications generally indicate you DO have the abilities, qualifications can’t teach some of the necessary things…things your other posts on your trip to this role show you have in spades. Take a deep breath and just do the job you know you can do!
  16. Wid…disappointed it took this long.
  17. Christ, you’re really not catching a break, mate. Hopefully they’ve at least ruled out some stuff, cause it sounds a right dangerous situation. I’ve had a little mild vertigo, and I can’t imagine what you must have been going through with BP crashing like that and you going down. I’m guessing they’ll be recommending some form of Medic-Alert necklace or watch since you’re a solo resident. Stay safe, and let us know you’re getting better!
  18. Very encouraging to hear a workplace allowing that, I just wish it was more common over here. Sounds like you’re getting the support you need to progress, don’t rule out that making retirement…even if it’s just to piss off some pols. Stay strong and feel free to share tales and tips, God knows there’s enough people around that can benefit from it.
  19. New analysis puts the maximum actual value of DJT at about $40-50 million (9-12 times 2023 earnings of $4.3 million). Current valuation is roughly $8-9 billion. It’s so prohibitively expensive to borrow the shares necessary to short, that its price is currently propped up by a number of “true believers” who got in on the IPO. Trump gets reelected and it’s worth more than that, he loses and it’s worth less. He can start selling his shares about 1 October…we can probably judge his feelings on the election results by watching.
  20. I referred to you both as pitiful for your abusive (IMO) description of a player, not for a different opinion.
  21. Never claimed to be a super fan, so not sure what that's about. I simply do not boo our own players, I don't call then shite, I do call out shortcomings when it's clearly shown. Again, you mileage may vary, old chum.
  22. Airdrie absolutely deserved getting 10 of 12 points in the league from us this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to pass Partick.
  23. Not worried if JBrown reads P&B or not. Your opinion is fine, your statement that he's scared of the ball is demonstrably incorrect. Your view on me is noted, and you're entitled to your opinion. An average defender is much more than we got from Millen. He was an attacker who was often late to defend and who didn't stop crosses. A such, JBrown is a defensive improvement (in my opinion).
