  1. Blair Malcolm in attendance again this evening, got to imagine we'll sign him and some cover at LB then that'll be us. As for tonight, decent run-out without being spectacular. We look like we'll be capable of digging in and getting results which is promising, just need to find a bit of ruthlessness in the final third which will hopefully come with time. Agree on the Gomis for MOTM shouts, honourable mention to McManus though who looks like he'll be the one to make things happen for us
  2. The idea that he's 'too small' to be a centre-back is nonsense I'd think, might have other attributes that don't suit him well there but I've seen taller guys who are worse in the air consistently get a game at CB. If you're playing with a back five he'll be an excellent addition on either side of the three, if you're playing with a four he'll be decent cover at CB or RB. Would definitely have kept him for league one, bit limited ability wise but always gave his all and far from a bad player at Championship level. Having said that, McKinnon's insistence on using him as an attacking RB (aside from the last Ayr game where he turned into Dani Alves for 45 minutes) still gives me nightmares...
  3. Two things to add after traipsing through this shambles of a thread. 1. We looked good, plenty still to work on but matched a team two leagues above us in every department, with most of the new players (Tidser, Johnstone and maybe Durnan aside) looking sharp. Team doesn't look like it'll take too much time to gel, some extremely promising football on show in flashes, and if how we played today transposes into the league season (which it doesn't always, of course) then we'll be absolutely fine. Stranraer on Tuesday should however be a better indicator for how we'll be in the bread and butter league games. Secondly, I was there today, and it's not anyone else's place to tell me I'm wrong to go, nor is it mine to tell anyone who chose to stay away that they are wrong to do so. Most of us seem to be on the same page on that one, but for those who are having a go at anyone whose decision is different to yours: get yourself and your superiority complex to f**k. We're all adults (latapybairn and his multitude of aliases aside) and we all want what's best for the club. This incessant infighting is getting us nowhere, so get over yourself and do whatever you're going to do, but do without making a needless spectacle of yourself on the internet. On a more important note, have to assume we're all buzzing for Ayr away next weekend?
  4. Ultimately performances on the pitch do affect how much fans are prepared to let the board away with, there's no two ways about that. Having said that, had we had a decent season under Hartley (that ended with anything other than promotion) the majority of us would still be vocally calling for the board's head due to the multitude of reasons listed. Would it be going as far as a boycott? Who knows, but it doesn't actually matter, because the facts are that their incompetence has driven us down the leagues and wedged a divide between the club and the fans.
  5. Personally can't wait for the 'yeah but our head to head with Montrose was better than yours' shouts after our 100 point season
  6. Are we really comparing dick sizes over a boycott now? What a bizarre thing to say To answer your question, no-one who is boycotting will go back now we've beaten Brechin in a friendly, no
  7. Bit of digging on this Eliot Gattier (if it is him we have on trial) turns up 5 goals and 9 assists in 24 appearances in the French 5th tier last season. Farid 2.0 incoming
