  1. Duisburg for me and my mate. 35 minute train to Cologne for the Swiss game (only out for this game). Had originally booked a dirt cheap hotel. The reviews had been giving me the fear for a while now though, so had a wee look yesterday and managed to find a much nicer looking/reviewed hotel for only 75 pound a night. Delighted with that considering how close were are getting to the tournament! Must have been cancellations because never saw it originally.
  2. Big sigh of relief getting over the line on Saturday. I said on here under Price and then the appointment of Smith that we were 100% going down. Fair play to the new management team. Pretty much every new signing has added something. My only worry for next season would be the handful of players we have on loan. I don't think we would get any of them back full time so could be a bit of a rebuild needed again but Hale seems to be the type of guy that will be on the ball with regards to recruitment. A freshen up in the boardroom and in the dug out has been badly needed for 2/3 seasons and hopefully we can kick on now we have both!
  3. There won't be 1 Scotland cap between these players.....
  4. I've said on here before I think under Steve Clarkes reign its been 2 steps forward 1 step back normally. I'm hoping this period has just been one of the small steps back and I hope/think we will kick on again in June
  5. 8 hour round trip, 4 hours sleep before work..... Hello Scotland, old friend. Its been a while......
  6. was anyone a massive bell end like me and think it was 11am our time.... no, just me then...
  7. Really don't get the 4 keepers, very strange. As expected for the rest
  8. He's looked good also. Again, very energetic and comfortable on the ball. I would take them both in the summer no problem!
  9. After our defeat to Clyde this feels like a huge game. A loss here and we are right back in the sh*t. I'm hoping our home form will drag us through this game but could go either way I think.
  10. Overall he has been very good. Added a lot of energy/pace to the team and always looks a threat. I mentioned over on the cove thread that his end product can be pretty poor but the flip side to that is if he had a consistent end product he wouldn't be on loan to us and would surely be a starter for you guys.
  11. I always think when Tierney is injured the balance of the team just doesn't look right. He's a massive part of the way we play IMO. Likewise, Hickey has fast become one of the first names on the team sheet. Hopefully they will both be back in action sooner rather than later
  12. Yea that's been the main difference under Hale so far is the Energy/work rate/press and those 2 have been a big factor in that. I would say that Goldings end product has been pretty poor but the flipside to that is if that side of his game was better we wouldn't have a him on loan and he would surely be a starter for you guys? so I'm happy with everything else he's brought to the table so far. On a side note, what's happened with Vigurs?? He's someone I thought would end up back with us at some point but haven't saw him mentioned in long time. injured?
  13. Could we please keep Gallagher and Golding next season? Thanks, kind regards etc...
  14. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Elgin's penalty claim yet. Genuinely one of the worst refereeing decisions I've ever saw live. Clyde player at full stretch tips the ball round the post with both hands. Ref and lino look at each other and do nothing. Don't think I've ever been as irate at a decision before! As someone else mentioned, I actually really enjoyed that game last night considering what was at stake. Thought we were the better team overall and our fitness looked miles better than Clydes. Dingwall,Taylor and Golding ran themselves into the ground. Also thought big Draper was brilliant at the back. No pace but reads the game so well and a calm head when things got a bit scrappy. Also a mention for Mchales save at 1-1. Incredible! Looks like there is a bit of a buzz between the squad now since Hale came in. Another big game Saturday!
  15. Well that was a tough watch on the whole. 2 poor teams….BUT a massive 3 points and plenty work rate and desire right to the end. we might need a bit of luck along the way to stay in the league and we certainly got that today with the first penalty. How on earth the ref thought that was a foul on Jones rather than the other way around I have no idea. But we’ll take it. the second pen was a stonewaller and you could see it coming with each stride holding took. A very powerful runner and if he can improve his end product could be a big player In the run in! 2 wins from 2! Hopefully the start of a wee run
  16. Does anyone know what the tickets in this uefa ballot are for? As in is it un-bought tickets from the last one?, a set number kept specifically for this ballot? Or I read it could be just returned tickets from the associations which could mean it’s pointless applying for Scotland ones?
  17. Death, Taxes, SFA making an arse of this.......
  18. Fly in to Dusseldorf and have opted for Duisburg for a week for the second round of group games. Cheap hotel right next to the main station which seems like it does direct trains to the majority of host cities. PS if anyone with enough points wont be using their ticket for the second group game i'll gladly buy it of them think ill be 1 or 2 points short
  19. Enjoyed my day out/night at the game yesterday. Good atmosphere in the lead up and on the whole throughout the game. Positives: coming back twice, better performance from mcgregor, played some good stuff at times. Negatives: our back line needs to include Gunn/hickey/robbo/tierney or in my opinion we don’t get out a group stage with the other defenders we have. Striker options a bit worrying. Been mentioned we don’t have anyone anywhere close to being on form. Hopefully changes in the coming months. Very enjoyable campaign over all!
  20. I didn't think watching a Scotland qualifier while already qualified would cause me so much stress! Between our below par performance, them rolling about like a bunch of fannys and the ref it wasn't an easy watch!
  21. I really don't think there is much between our centre backs. Hanley, Hendry,Mckenna,Souttar,Cooper are all much and such championship level defenders. Its always a worry area for me when Teirney is injured
  22. looking forward to this one. (as I thought initially we would be needing to go here and win!). Now we can watch it relatively stress free. Not sure how Clarke will go for this one but with the players out I think a back 4 would give more balance to the team. something like: Clark Paterson Hendry Porteous Taylor Mctominay McGregor Christie Ferguson McGinn Dykes
  23. Will maybe get a call up to the woman's team then mate....
  24. No great surprise. I had already mentioned on here his last 6 jobs all lasted a year tops. I'm guessing very little research went into the appointment. Just one thing after another just now. I would be reasonably excited by Robbo also, but not sure someone like him would touch it as is the absolute mess we are in just now.
