  1. It’s an interesting transfer. He seems to be quite an attack-minded full back by the looks of things. Hope Martin isn’t frozen out as a result, would like him to have a good run of games Hopefully there’ll be another winger coming in. Think we could just about survive with the strikers we’ve got but wouldn’t mind another
  2. It does just come across absolutely bizarre. Definitely a big Keith from The Office mood
  3. Obvious disclaimer about the perils of judging a player from a Youtube video... but he does seem to be pretty clever on the ball, versatile in his movement across the attacking line, and have a nice range of passing. He's certainly got more than just a burst of pace. I'm still hoping another winger comes in with Championship experience, but definitely excited to see what he can do for us
  4. Don't like the badges on either and unsold on the home shirt collar, but think the home is generally pretty solid Away's a bit naff but not awful - a shame because I think with those colours it could've been a winner with a slightly different design
  5. Can't say I've heard of the lad but if he got snapped up by Norwich last year he must have something promising about him. Great to get another wide player in too
  6. Given Thomson is out, I'd like to see a 442 at home games at least, with Turner and Beadling in the middle and Ryan and Nisbet up top. Probably wistful thinking though Zanatta would be ideal, there'll definitely be a lot of interest for him but think he's a realistic target
  7. Fair point. He covers Beadling's role and I'd have Beadling ahead of him anyday (and the thought of having both of them in the middle of the park doesn’t exactly inspire confidence offensively...). But given our lack of depth at the moment we do need the options Having said that, I still feel there were better options out there that could offer us both Championship experience and also fill a gap in our squad. Like the need for more creative midfielders for example - surely we could have cobbled together a better offer for Ross Forbes than Forfar did?
  8. Just remembered how Paton followed McNamara from Thistle to Dundee United in 2013, and was a right kissarse to him in the press that summer (much to the chagrin of Jags fans) I've been pretty happy with our transfers so far, but Paton is the one which makes the least sense to me. Hope it isn't just a case of old boys helping each other out
  9. Think the shout that Crawford might be wanting to play a 352 sounds plausible enough. Only attacking wide player so far seems to be Dow (though of course still early days) Makes the departure of Longridge all the more gutting though. I rate Martin at full back but not if we're playing a wingback system
