  1. Wednesday 22nd Montrose 3-2 Peterhead Sunday 26th Airdrieonians 1-1 Alloa Athletic Cove Rangers 3-0 East Fife Falkirk 2-2 Clyde Queen's Park 1-0 Dumbarton
  2. It looked like leaving you a month ago. Title looks to be Cove’s, they are starting to make a gap, but strange things can happen. Falkirk might have a resurgence, though I’m not sure if they still have Holt in charge?
  3. Just before the COVID kicked off, Montrose got a visitor, HRH Prince of Andrew. So the primary school bairns were taken out of class to cheer him (I wouldnt let him near the bairns) he stopped and spoke to some dignitary for 45 seconds, then straight down to the Glaxo Pharmaceutical plant for a 4 hour meeting! Profit
  4. You are right, I need to think more about my grammar and spelling!
  5. They do reduce the risk of death or serious illness, but the issue is still over loading the NHS, which is constantly under strain in normal times.
  6. If Falkirk have got to the route cause of their issues, then you have bottomed out. If not, then anything is possible
  7. Are you planning doing a Brechin City, been heading south for a while?
  8. Falkirk was a blip, their morale is rock bottom. The Mo's isnt!
  9. The Fife, though bottom and with only 3 wins, havent been getting thumped recently, and recently mostly draws or narrow defeats If I were a betting man, I'd chance a punt on the Fife
  10. I work with a couple of smokies. Unlike the ugly sisters, we can still share a canteen and have non segregated work zones, which is nice They take the p!ss and I take the p!ss back, but they are decent folk (despite being smokies)
  11. As a Mo fan, I will state that I am really pleased for Arbroath (even though we had to dodge the punches coming out of Gayfiled after we gubbed you 0-1 fekkin Smokies ) Seriously, I want to see Arbroath win, and they are in a league where they should be. Arbroath, like the Mo punched beneath their weight for too long, while Brechin punched above theirs for too long (also thanks to DC). As regards crowd sizes, our average was way higher when we had Arbroath in League 1 and Forfar and Brechin) but Arbroath were the ones that brought the crowd. Arbroath is double the size of Montrose in Population. Montrose is double the size of Brechin, and I think Forfar is slightly bigger than Montrose, so that does effect the attendances each club can bring. Your point about stabilizing the club in lower Championship / top of league 1 is absolutely correct, and this is what the Mo has been doing, cementing a future in League 1. Looks like both clubs are keeping the heed!
  12. It's not my business, so apologies in advance, but this statement strikes me as being correct and possibly a route cause of problems. Director of football is a grey area, how much say does the director have in choosing a team and how they play? It didnt work at Hearts, and what is the point in a director of football? If I was a manager with a clear game plan, I wouldnt want some director over ruling me, especially one that has helped steer the club in the wrong direction? The position of Holt is one which I notice keeps creeping up in this thread. Apologies for any offence caused.
  13. Doesnt matter which manager any club has as long as we are happy with where we are and what we've got, and like most Mo fans, I'm happy with everything about the club. We are respected, not big shots rising through the leagues quickly, but admired. This contentment has been proved in the fans surveys, where Montrose fans are the happiest in Scottish professional football. I wouldnt like to be part of a club that are desperate, no offence meant, but Kelty, QP and Falkirk come to mind, the first two for the same reasons as regards financial investment, Falkirk are a big club that just shouldnt be where they are now and have to overcome their issues. Arbroath arent looking at us for the future, they are right in the mix of the bigger time. Dick Campbell is a huge success, and greatly revered, I wouldnt be surprised if the Smokies raise a statue of him in Arbroath, right next to Robert the Bruce I think Ross and Yano have been great for the Mo, and the Campbell dynasty of Angus continues. If the 2 clubs feed off each other that's fine by me.
  14. That’s what it looks like to me, once the cash stops getting pumped, the village will fail to have enough season ticket holders
  15. He did a poor job at CLyde, fekk knows what happened at Kelty, but suspect the board bought the Lowland league title thru buying the players they needed, and walked into the SPFLs
  16. Faz did okay at Stranraer until they go skint and selt their best players, which is not his fault, but then they still went down. He had a better success rate at Stranraer, but that was over a 4 year period. Jury is out
  17. The stats speak for themselves. The future is positive. Dick Campbell for the Smokies, Stewart Petrie for the Mo. Its a great time for half of the Angus clubs
  18. Clyde 1 Airdrieonians 2 Cove Rangers 2 Alloa Athletic 0 Dumbarton 2 Peterhead 2 East Fife 1 Falkirk 1 Montrose 2 Queen's Park 1
  19. Unpredictable result, on paper, the Mo, in reality, fekk knows. Dumbarton, are possibly the most unpredictable team in the league?
  20. Draw. QP will be full of themselves, Airdrie will be hungry and raging after their mid loss at the hands of the MO. Going by the Falkirk thread, its not because QP are good, its because Falkirk were p!sh. Wasn't there, just going by the chatter
  21. Airdrie 0-1 Queen’s Park Alloa 1-0 Clyde Dumbarton 0-1 Montrose Falkirk 0-1 Cove Peterhead 1-1 East Fife
  22. Would I be right in saying Kelty and Cowdenbeath are right next to each other and are both small towns of around 6000 people? Its a shame Cowdenbeath are circling the drain hole, but often that's down to the blazers in the board room as well as cash and how they handle it, and obviously Kelty are in a far different place from them. Probably every club in Scottish football has its roller coaster journey. I've seen links park with large crowds every 2nd Saturday and periods of being crap, even embarrassing, and struggling to get 200 fans. Things have changed for the MO, and I have respect for any club that is managed properly as a business and gets involved in their community. It was sad to see the demise of a club like Brechin, but it punched above its weight for more than 20 years, obviously things had gone badly wrong for them. The last time I watched the MO play at the Glebe, we easy brought 4 times the fans they had Competition and good management. Kelty have earned the place they are at, not sure if this has impacted on Cowdenbeath at all? Just my 10p worth
