  1. In an ideal Scottish Football world the other clubs, nor Hibs in the first place, should need to be relied on to call out this behaviour anyway. This should be called out and dealt with by the governing bodies and the offending clubs punished accordingly. Well played Hibs for highlighting sectarianism as one of the reasons for taking this action. In a normal country this would trigger debate and action from the governing bodies, police, government and broadcasters but we know that wont happen. Look at the media response so far, no one coming out and saying Hibs are correct and that this has being going on for too long and needs to be addressed. Just completely ignored. Crazy to think that you can sit through 90 mins of religious based nonsense and not hear a peep but last night get an apology from the BBC that you may have heard Lawrence Shankland being called a w****r for 10 seconds.
  2. Fair enough mate. I understand its the negative fans that are usually the loud minority on social media especially when things aren't going well on the pitch but I do think sometimes you go above and beyond in your defence of the club. Particularly the two issues highlighted by other posters above re Kensell's salary compared to his peers and noting Hearts and Aberdeen's cash gifts but not classifying the debt to equity at Hibs as the same thing. Appreciate I'm looking at this from the outside so you'll have a better understanding of the goings on at Hibs but, if it were Hearts, there would be some concerns there for me.
  3. You're coming across as a real Gordon/Kensell fanboy here. In what way has Kensell "made us literal millions"? How can you say that when you have just posted a loss of £4m? Maybe what you mean is he has substantially increased turnover. How much of that would you actually attribute to Ben Kensell and not the investments made by the Gordons. When other Hibs fans question Kensell's salary you then for some reason compare his £325k salary to the Celtic CEO and ignore more realistic comparisons like Andrew McKinlay at Hearts (annual salary roughly £200k) or Alan Burrows at Aberdeen who I would guess would be on sub £150k. I think it is entirely fair to question his salary based on what your competitors are paying (just to confirm that is not Celtic) that is even without factoring in how things are going on the park. You also seem to be swallowing the positive news regarding "recording breaking year" coming from the club without any real scrutiny. What is record breaking, the turnover or the profit? Given we are only over half way through the season how sure are they that this will happen and what are they basing it on, is this based on the expectation that they can still finish third and win the Scottish Cup? I'd be willing to bet that turnover will be up purely based on the European games and reaching the semi final of the league cup. How much can you rely on these things happening year on year and the turnover staying at those levels or will this be a one off good year. On the debt due to the Gordons (or previously due to the Gordons) it cannot be argued that debts have been run up by the owner effectively subsidising the club. Not an issue for me but we were told when it was Romanov that is was unsustainable and no way to run a football club (which is correct). The accounts being released at the same time as the investment coming in from Foley is suspicious in the least. It raises the question of did the Gordons want this investment or need it. Have they decided that the debt for equity is the last of the money they will be putting in to the club and needed someone else to fund it for however long. This would indicate that there is a cash concern (I won't say issue as I don't think the Gordons would have refused to stump up if there was) within the club. I know that cash and profit are a different thing and don't necessarily go hand in hand but this doesn't exactly backup the "record breaking year" comments coming from the club. I'm not in anyway saying Hibs are in financial difficulty but I do find your unwavering defence of Ben Kensell and the Gordons strange especially with all the evidence, on and off the park, that things aren't exactly going well!
  4. Ange did nothing in Europe? Sorry, do you not remember the historic 0-3 loss to Real Madrid?
  5. In Scotland that has to be a massive problem in itself. The SFA/SPFL are notorious for their lack of transparency and consulting with fans in relation to any decisions being made. Just look at the purchase of Hampden and the recent pyro meetings all undertaken with no fan consultations. As far as I'm aware I've seen nothing from them that makes them think this is an issue or needs to be addressed. We all know the answer to your question and the governing bodies know it as well. This is another factor in why we have this lack of transparency. Unfortunately VAR is here to stay and nothing the fans say is going to change that. They will look at it and evolve it but their idea of improving it will just end up with more reliance on VAR with no thought to the match going fans.
  6. It's a penalty because the Celtic player wants one! Amazing insight from big John showing why he's one of the top pundits around! He must have forgot it was Europe they were playing in tonight rather than the SPFL and those rules don't apply!
  7. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65537328 Now admittedly, like Michael Stewart, I've not seen too much of Nicolas Raskin but surely there has to be another young 'one for the future' player that should have been picked in front of him given that he only arrived in the league in January and, from what I've seen, hasn't exactly stood out. Or is this a matter of not being able to have one of these player of the season articles, with 3 Celtic players selected, without mentioning a Rangers player? The opening paragraph reads as though someone has asked him to find something positive to say about Rangers rather than actually suggest a 'one for the future'.
  8. If that was the case would you then not expect to see Goldson's left arm sticking out away from his body and coming in to shot? From the video Goldson only throws out his left arm after Duk hits the floor.
  9. How can you tell that from this image when you can't even see Goldson's left arm?
  10. Yeah, he's turning in to Edouard though, the still image has him turning away from him. The video also shows Berra in the challenge but he's not seen in the picture.
  11. This isn't even the penalty incident No Berra in the photo. For the penalty Zlamal dived with his hands towards Edouard but in this photo hes facing the opposite direction.
