  1. As I suspected and stated in an earlier post, Harestanes will be well guided by the Central Scottish Committee on how to get the match replayed. Mr Dingwall will have told them to appeal, then withdraw the appeal and by then the SAFA will have all the info / ammunition to have the game replayed due to a breach of Scottish Cup rules. Mr Dingwall / Harestanes / Central Scottish League doing their best to force another team through to the last 16 at ANY cost. League and Club should be ashamed of themselves
  2. Unlikely this story will ever end, But I think it’s fair to say Harestanes have embarrassed, No humiliated themselves and Amateur Football by appealing the result. They clearly knew there were no flags, but decided they would do nothing, and use this as insurance should they get beat. They lost fair and square, Then in goes the appeal - Absolutely Shocking. I’m sure they will have been guided by The Central Scottish League as they are the worst losers in Amateur Football as well and The Sepp Blatter of Amateur Football ( mr Dingwall ) will guide them thru the appeal process as he will do anything to get his teams through in the National Cup Competitions. Harestanes and the Central Scottish AFL possibly the biggest embarrassments ever in Scottish Amateur Football, No wonder it’s made the National Press !!!!!
  3. Guys, the Caley chat seems to have died a bit and no comments for a while. I see Giffnock North have bounced back from their Defeat at Dumbarton with a fine away win at Stenhousemuir. Another big game this week is Giffnock and Thorn Athletic. Glasgow Uni, starting a decent run now and who’s gonna stay in the chase with Dumbarton [emoji460]️ Also some good results for Caley teams last week in the Scottish [emoji460]️
  4. Not sure we need any more new teams, it’s all about saving the existing Amateur game if I’m being honest. This is why the Central Scottish have so many teams folding, they bring in a team which hasn’t been established long enough, as the league is only taking for the glory. Caledonian League on the other hand have gone back to accepting long established clubs and 2 divisions of Stability - surely the way forward [emoji460]️
  5. Giffnock boys said nothing of the sort, we were impressed by a good young hard working EK YM, but I think experience told in the end [emoji460]️[emoji460]️
  6. That’s another problem with Amateur football, A group of mates playing football , it takes away players from long standing clubs, lasts about 2 / 3 years and then disappear. That ‘team’ of mates has used up a league place, taken players from other clubs , joined a league and then fold !!!!! Results are declared null and void and they’ve created havoc. That’s why proper run Leagues should only be admitting established clubs with a proven track record , not a group of Pals looking for a game [emoji460]️[emoji460]️
  7. Guys ! Not much Happenin on the Caley Chat, early pace setters, who’s looking title contenders And what about the big Premier Division clash tomorrow between Dumbarton FP’s and Giffnock North - the last 2 unbeaten teams in the division ? Gimme your thoughts
  8. At long last last, someone with the same opinion as me, and the real reason Amateur football is dying. It’s not about money, it’s not about parks, it’s not about lack of players, it’s all about club committee men and in particular the manager. The amount of work Amateur managers put in EVERY week to ensure they get 11 players on the park is phenomenal. They also take the training, they phone the players to make sure they are available , they carry all the kit, they have to make all the real decisions and without a dedicated committee helping him, the manager might just walk away and without a manager there is no club . Teams just can’t get managers any more or committee people. When’s players retires these days, they just disappear and put nothing back into the game AND therein lies the problem No-One wants the hassle of running a team anymore. Fortunately at Giffnock North we have a fantastic/ dedicated manager, an assistant manager, head coach, warm up coach and 2 committee guys who NEVER miss a match. Take these guys away and there would be no Giffnock North. So there is the answer - It’s simply a lack of good dedicated guys who simply want to run a club
  9. There was no change of relegation mid season Robert, 2 still went down and 2 still came up from both divisions, the only change was no play offs, so that the premier division could increase to 14 teams
  10. Caledonian League Committee always forward thinking and always looking after their clubs.
  11. And there’s a few Ex Southside players at Giffnock North, so makes sense to join up and take the next step forward
