  1. Don was always the cheap and easy short term solution, but I just hope and pray the club have an ace up their sleeves for the summer
  2. Roy will 100% be calling up Yogi right now. His phone book only has about 5 names in it.
  3. Completely agree re Fergie. He needs to show his worth now with this appointment Nothing against Don and don’t think he’s an issue at all, just would not go giving an unproven young manager this job at the moment. Far too much on the line if it goes wrong for him
  4. Don hasn’t got the experience to take a job this big on just yet. Would prefer we go big or go home with the next manager - break away from the same old names and grab someone out of the blue. We seriously can’t be worse off than we currently are so worth a go surely
  5. We had a real chance to build something great with the League Cup winning squad, but that was torn apart in favour of a couple of decent pay days. Even those deals weren’t exactly financially beneficial to us on the surface, as none of the money raised went back into the team hence our struggles since then. I am not saying that the likes of Jackson Irvine and Liam Boyce would have stayed had an offer been tabled of course, but to lose them and not replace them with quality replacements has been a huge part of our turmoil. We still haven’t truly replaced them both or even the likes of Schalk/Davies/Gardyne, just getting in dross rejects in the vague hope of unearthing a rough diamond. Dont get me started on the youth academy as well, which seems to be a thing of myth as no players ever seem to make it to the first team regularly at all….
  6. I swear Adams argues with the self service machines at Tesco. Odd bloke
  7. Wander around in match day in a snazzy suit looking important and shaking hands with hospitality guests.
  8. It’s the same old song every single season for the club and it’s honestly pathetic. Smacks of incompetence and arrogance in the first degree. Pretry sure last summer we were told that last season would not be repeated and that we were to expect better going forward. This coming from CEO Of The Year?? Give me a break! Very clear that the club is rotten from top to bottom with no clear drive or direction other than just staying up. If that’s the case, what is the point on going to games hoping for a result and dreaming of a top half finish? It screams very poor business management above all else with no accountability or clue about sports management/organisation at all. They need to do so much better now, the masks have slipped and we can’t allow them to BS any further.
  9. Genuinely hate watching us these days because of these shower of charlatans. This all has gone far past the point of embarrassment now. Get Adams as far away as possible, don’t let that team bus back up the A9, tell Jordan White to report to his new job at Asda tomorrow morning, and Roy/Steven need to take a good long stare in the mirror before allowing themselves to face the wrath of the fans who pay their fair share to have a team they can be proud of. Complete joke of a club.
  10. Hearing whispers over here in Halifax NS that one of the applicants for the job is a coach for a local team, Halifax Dunbrack. Very good reputation over here, and is still quite young so could be an option to allow to develop over time. Bit of an outside choice, however has a solid track record of working with young players and developing winning sides on a tight to non-existent budget. Although the level of provincial Canadian football is not to the same level as Championship, many coaches and staff from these leagues have gone onto the MLS and Europe and done very well. Heavy emphasis on tactics and video analysis to the game here, something that may benefit Caley to actually have a plan in place and opportunity to develop the young lads better?
  11. There is no doubt that Fergie is a club legend and a nice guy, but this is the time we need to forget that and address the wider issues. I am struggling to see how we would keep hold of the likes of Dhanda, Smith, Iacovitti, Harmon etc then buy Brophy on top (which we will need if we are to do anything next season) with this current structure in place. The first sniff of cash and miserly offers will be accepted, with the money disappearing again to the back of beyond.....
  12. I'm sorry to say but realistically, we are pretty much down at this point. I simply cannot see us getting the cohesion or formation right nor do I feel we have enough mentally tough players ready to fight for the club. Saturday was a showcase of what happens when a team lacks togetherness and fight, as well as being unable to adapt well enough to compete against well organised sides. On the plus side, the Championship would provide us with a great opportunity to rebuild from the bottom, clearing out the deadwood and old thinkers who have kept us from progressing the last few years. If we get a proper Director of Football in place, new manager, refreshed coaching staff and play our young guns, then we may have a blueprint off which to build long term success going forwards. Selling Dylan Smith a la Josh Reid is not going to work. If we had any ambition, we would do all we can to keep him, make him a regular starter and show him examples of Porteous and McKenna who were older and established in the Premier League before making the big move south.
  13. Sadly there is zero chance that Roy will do the right think and sack Malky before the season is out. I also fear that he will hide behind his rose-tinted glasses yet again and cling onto the hope that the current set-up will romp the Championship without having to dip his hand in his pocket. If he does by some miracle, it will definitely be a mix of Don and Fergie - neither of which are managers as has been proven. Its been clear for the past few years that Roy doesn't care enough about winning or challenging higher in the league, and is happy to set up a nice little workplace for his mates and yes-men to congregate in the guise of a football club. Although I do think pressure should rightly be thrown towards the coaching staff, the wider questions should be asked of Roy and the board as to the direction and ambition of the club. Faffing around in the Summer to then get the fear of God in us in January has finally caught up with us. Clear direction and planning is critical right now, or we simply will struggle to get back to where we ought to be.
  14. Bradford have the financial clout to compete higher up the leagues, however have struggled to maintain a good managerial team since Phil Parkinson left a few years ago now. They are a big club down here and regularly pull in crowds of 25-30k for a League 2 match. Also able to attract decent players from League 1/Championship and keep them there too. They will also allow Derek to bring in his own type of players and build a team around their stars, without the need to sell as Morecambe definitely do. Very good move for him, and can easily see him taking Bradford up the leagues.
  15. Yeah the deal has been as good as done for a couple of weeks now. Wish him luck, he’s really built a good reputation for himself down south
