He'll be an excellent addition.
On another note; open invitation to Davie Bowman. Athletic bar, 7pm. Wednesday. Bring it.
Dele young man, please ensure to wear a charming and enchanting Summer floral dress and fetching eye liner for your proposed encounter with David.
Otherwise, as a young man, a vibrant young man issuing a challenge, be prepared for Mr Squarehead soiling himself with fear in a very public place.
Regards.

Happy Friday Fellows Dees

It's that time of the year, superb!

Dundee chase loan signing of Crystal Palace's Malachi Boateng (thecourier.co.uk)
Pleasing if The Doc can pull this transfer deal off.
All taking shape nicely so far.

Our lower league near neighbour's thread appear convinced Trevor Carson is heading our direction sometime soon.
Still however under contract at St Mirren until Summer 2025, so find that rumour hard to believe considering Stephen Robinson has managed him for Motherwell, Morecambe and then St Mirren. Plus probably also coached him on Northern Ireland duty.
We do need a first choice keeper though, the feller above is now 35.

Time ticks closer a new season with this club full of history and tradition. As i always say its in the blood with this club. Can't wait.
Thank you.
To quote an extremely wise Dark Blue sage, also known on here as @Deefox.
"I'm Dundee born, Dundee bred, and when I die I'll be Dundee dead."
Spot on with your posting @Dundee-FC92 my man, that's how it is and how we also like it. Certainly for myself anyway.

That brings back some memories TCM. When I read in the papers at the time (no internet of course) that we had signed a player from Cologne (£80k rings a bell) I had high hopes. I think it’s fair to say he wasn’t quite the player I was hoping for.
Good memory Shads, £80k it certainly was if I also remember correctly.
Highly rated he was in the German top league starring for Cologne. Can only assume that in the mid 80's Germany they adopted a slightly calmer and methodical approach to football, compared to the usual Scottish Premier League blood and snotter encounters of that era.
Clash of footballing cultures and indeed abilities curtailed Vince Mennie, James Grady he was not unfortunately.

Recalling my fledgling/primary school days of following Dundee, the red socks will always be in the mix for me. A respected and feared collective of talent in Scotland and beyond, imho. When can we last say that in all honesty at Dens?
Check out the team group Davie White inherited after succeeding John Prentice as manager, arguably also the fruits of the labour of former first team coach Jim McLean, hence many of the senior players leaving the official cup winning celebration at the Angus Hotel and visiting Mr McLean at his home address instead.

Takes me back to the Fan Zhi era.
Good to have a signing like this, a bit exotic. He’ll be utter pish of course.Jeezo @Fifespud, I recall that feller Fan Zhiyi and reading an article at the time we'd signed the Crystal Palace 'jewel in the crown'.
Next thing we knew he was running about trying to kick the arses of the poorest Dundee United side for two decades, and missing!
Red carded obviously in that game at Dens, eventually thankfully.
On that similar note you're safe @Ludo*1, Ryan Innes has signed for Forest Green Rovers.
"He's the type of player and profile I feel we need", says manager Duncan Ferguson, lol.

Youngster!
Thank you, Spudgun, respect.

Early retirement at 55 a couple of years back, burnt out, or so I highlighted to Mrs TCM.
Commissioned electrical protection systems at McDiarmid Park when it was built back in the day, no need for thanks however.

Remember a year or 2 ago Dundee partnered up with loch Lomand whisky, did anyone open it or am I mad for keeping it and not having a few drams?
Like yourself @D TOTAL, mine is also still unopened so keep the faith.
Was only 8 years old when we won our last major trophy, kinda hoped I'd save this bottle for the next one.
Honestly thought the bottle would be left in my Will in years to come, however if Callum Davidson can secure two trophies, WTF it's in the post for us, surely.
Dark Blue till we die, that's how it is and that's how we like it.

Mulligan signs 2 year deal!
Great bit of business.
Totally agree Spud and I have a strange feeling 'The Doc' will know how to actually use him position-wise, to suit his best game strengths.

Shaughnessy, I heard...
I believe Stephen O'Donnell is out of contract at Motherwell and with that in mind I would also welcome Declan Gallagher back at Dens Park from St Mirren.
Both decent players and recent internationalists.

Good shout.
Tend to forget that he came back to the club for a second spell.
Difficult to draw a line between 'club legend' and 'cult hero', because I'd definitely put Gary Harkins in the later if not the former, but other than that I think you have to go back to Nemsadze because CC33 is really more 'cult hero' territory for me given he was only at Dens for about 5 months or something. Actually, on 2nd thoughts I'd argue Harkins does qualify as a legend. Three spells, the whole -25 points season, so many memorable moments, goals, and performances. So aye, GGH.
Yep, agree my man. Was busy searching for a decent snap whilst you were obviously typing the above.
It's GGH for me also, every day of the week.

Go easy my man and have a good one, all the best. X

Thoughts are with you @stumigoo, a good guy who now appears to wipe his hands of this forum. Shame, great positive poster, imho.
Your club owner now champions Jim Goodwin, which is fair comment in your current position. However after emptying Jack Ross last year and not the troublesome element of the dressing room, the easy option is now to appear the preferred avenue, oh dearie me.
As if I give a monkeys chuff, I'm Dark Blue after all. We do not even have a current playing staff, let alone any management strategy or formation.
Best regards and thanks for reading.

Charlie Adam addresses Dundee job link (thecourier.co.uk)
Read the link above and not surprisingly Sir Charles of Adam has had no contact as yet from the Dens Park boardroom.
Seriously, have a word with yourselves Messrs Nelms and Strachan and stop embarrassing what little remains of your self esteem in this business.
Now approaching a ludicrously embarrassing level of incompetence, imho. Not advocating Charlie is the next manager, however he surely merits and deserves an interview or chat regarding his interest in a potential position at the club.
Complete lack of respect to the club support also apparent due to the ongoing silence, as if you give a shit Messrs Nelms and Strachan.
Unless of course you're about to announce Robbie Neilson or Jack Ross that is, then all forgiven.

Jack Ross has a nice cushy and well paying job for Newcastle away from all the shite he's put up with the past few seasons. Nae danger is he coming here ever.
Agree @RossBFaeDundee, however the man has his professional pride and price. Feed it properly and we will prosper. Collective outfit of shorts, sports jacket and Smiths tee-shirt, sorted imho. (Andy Rourke, RIP).

I'd bite your hand off for a Martindale, Lennon, Neilson type but just can't see it.
Agree also @rhumbaclub, we shop in the damaged goods category also due to John Nelms' ongoing reputation in the game.

Ross has turned us down twice, be an absolute embarrassment even approaching him again.
Appreciate and accept that sentiment my man. However if these guys (Nelms and Strachan) have our club's best interests at heart rather than their piss water stain ego's, they have to swallow their pride and do the right thing.
That's certainly preferable to Neil McCann, Jim McIntyre, James Mistake and then the already retired Mark McGhee.
Callum Davidson, holy shit, is that the best standard these clowns can come up with?
Disappointing.

Poor result today, very early days of the season under new management, however with all due respect and be under no illusions, we must do better.
On a more positive note former Dee Craig Forsyth marked 10 years at Derby County with a testimonial today against Mrs TCM's Stoke City at Pride Park.
3 - 0 final score.
