  1. I meant as accessible as Kirkcaldy or Arbroath. But still a great away day and usually three points too
  2. Going to ignore United because I can't be objective Arbroath - By a country mile, a great ground, some cracking pubs and very accessible by train. We always take a decent amount through, so it's a bit of a party atmosphere too. I'd argue it's the best in the SPFL. Dunfermline - I'm basing this on the Steak Bridie and the fact we always play quite well through there. Not as accessible by train but still easy to drive through or get the bus. A good ground as well, so you'll get a good view of the match too. Raith - Similar to Dunfermline, but a bit easier to get to. It's always absolutely baltic there. Thistle - Firhill is a bit of an odd ground with its old wooden stand, but it's a nice away trip to Glasgow without the bigotry. The bar inside the main stand is class for a pint and some chips before the game. Greenock Morton - Cappielow is a classic old school ground, perfect distance from Dundee on the train for a few #cans. Food in the ground is quite good. Ayr - Somerset - See Cappielow but a wee bit worse. When they finish that new stand, it might be a bit better. Airdrie - Nothing against it, it's a nice enough ground but it's a bit flatpack and they can't really cope with a sizable away support - they only had one food kiosk open for the game in October. Plus it's in the middle of a residential bit so there's not great pub options. Queen's Park - I haven't been to Queen's Park at Hampden, but have been to a few Scotland Women's games, and its a pretty terrible viewing experience. It's like being at a reserve match. Hampden is only good when there's 30,000+ there. Inverness - Hate it as a ground. Miles from the train station, in the middle of nowhere, exposed to the elements but not in a quirky way like Arbroath. Just a bit rubbish. It's a shame as Ross County would probably be top of the Premiership list.
  3. Comparing us to England is always a bit foolish, but every third round game had a four-camera OB set up at it, plus the 9 TV games would have had as many as 12+ cameras at them (the S4C and BBC Wales games would have had far fewer tbf)
  4. Wonder which game(s) will be the feature matches tomorrow on Sportscene. Aberdeen vs Bonnyrigg would be a shoe-in you'd suspect, and probably Thistle vs Livi - you'd think they might be a bit lazy and not send the OB trucks up to Inverness.
  5. To be fair to them, the Hibs vs Celtic game and St Mirren vs Dundee games were later kick-offs, so they probably just went with the 7:45pm game that the interviews were done at first. Given that the games finishes around 9:40pm, it's a minor miracle to get the interviews done and analysis prepared as well as the highlights edited and graphics prepared in-time for broadcast at 10:40pm. Match of the Day have a much bigger crew than Sportscene and rarely have four games to do that for in such a short turnaround.
  6. Nah he was terrible for us last season too. I think his confidence took a battering after the Jack Ross era and has never came back.
  7. I see you haven't heard of Hibernian Football Club Club
  8. Was listening to the Aberdeen game in the car. The broadcast cut off right before Miovski scored, with Billy Dodds struggling to fill the dead air from Fir Park, he did an ok job tbf to him.
  9. Dave Cormack probably just told him to get the X24 Hasn't Ange and more recently Clement just knocked this argument on its head? I think it works for players who think it would be a laugh (Barton, Ramsay, Duffy, Whelan etc) but doesn't quite work the same for managers.
  10. Nice of FIFA to consider Northern Ireland fans
  11. The thing is the 3pm blackout shouldn't effect AFCON as it only applies to games within UEFA's countries
  12. One of these people is the Head of Transport in our Capital City, the other is not.
  13. Adam Something is back with another takedown of "Green Skyscrapers"
  14. A bit of a weird one that Kiefer Moore has gone to Ipswich, would have thought that would be the perfect move for Hibs - a real coup. I suppose Ipswich will also be taking a fair hit on his wages though.
  15. Well this is great news, and a great time for them to rebuild their playing squad. They better start their squad re-build from the back, I hear there's an Australian International Goalkeeper available for almost nothing, who comes with incredible pedigree, a clean sheet in European competition, he's also played under Ange and was A-League Goalkeeper of the Season. What a steal!
  16. Aye mental. BBC Scotland actually cut a lot of their Sports News output outwith football in order to focus on Murray - so talk about biting the hand which feeds you.
  17. Not football, but Kheredine is getting his arse handed to him by Andy Murray:
  18. Fair few politicians through work - Nicola Sturgeon and Patrick Harvie on a couple of occasions. Harvie was a bit of a bawbag one time, but was quite nice the other. Sturgeon was quite nice both times. Met a fair few athletes too, Rory McIlroy when he was an Amateur at Carnoustie - can't remember it too well. Oscar Pistorious (about a year before the murder) at the Dunhill Links. More recently: Heather Watson who was lovely at the Billie Jean King Cup in Glasgow. Mark Cavendish was a w**k unfortunately, as I'd always quite liked him. Sir Chris Hoy and Katie Archibald were really nice though. Surprisingly few footballers - only Jackie McNamara when he was United boss briefly and Benji Seigrist - who was a class act.
  19. It does, but there's a specific payment for clubs that are on TV. I think it's officially called a "facilities payment". Used to be something like £50k - but the SFA (wisely IMO) decided to spread more of the TV money in the general pot.
  20. It was a different camera used for MotherwellTV compared to the BBC's highlights.
  21. Dens would be a shout - as the Derry is one side - it doesn't quite go to halfway.
  22. The TV games should always be near the end IMO. But aye this is really poor. Is it just me or the cameras used for some of the games looked a bit off? The St Mirren vs QoS one didn't seem to be white balanced correctly and the Livingston vs Raith camera was on the wrong side (which I prefer) For the Sunday show they'll have sent a reporter to film a "feature" on one of the lesser games on Saturday. Think they did one for us vs Stirling Uni last season.
  23. The Scottish Cup Sportscene's are produced by a different production company - I think it's Sunset+Vine - that used to do BT's SPFL coverage. While the run of the mill Sportscene is a BBC Scotland production.
