  1. Motherwell away to Stjarnan comes to mind? Tbf with the UK being on the Western-reaches of UEFA it would have to be a side in either Portugal or Iceland at home
  2. Australian press reporting that a joint Australian-Indonesian bid is being considered. Probably not the worst idea in the world. The threshold for eligible bids is 14 stadiums - 9-10 in Australia and 4-5 in Indonesia seems feasible Adapting their 2022 bid documents for 2034. Australia has currently has seven suitable venues, three stadiums needing renovation/expansion and one totally rebuilt stadium. Melbourne Cricket Ground, Victoria - 100,000 Stadium Australia (Sydney Olympic Stadium), NSW - 84,000 Optus Stadium, Perth, WA- 61,000 (expandable to 70,000) Adelaide Oval, SA- 53,000 Lang Park, Brisbane, Queensland- 52,000 Allianz Stadium, Sydney, NSW - 45,500 Kardina Park, Geelong, Victoria - 40,000 Newcastle Stadium, NSW - 33,000 (expanded to 42,000) Townsville Stadium, Queensland - 26,000 (expanded to 40,000) Cararra Stadium, Gold Coast, Queensland - 22,000 (temp. expansion to 40,000) New Canberra Stadium, ACT - 40,000 (on site of current 25k stadium) Indonesia also put in a solo bid for the 2022 tournament, however their bid relied on very few existing stadia. A number of grounds have been built in the 13 years since, but transport infrastructure will be problematic. Anyway when it comes to stadiums Indonesia has four World Cup standard stadiums, currently: Jakarta International Stadium - 82,000 (built in 2022) Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta - 77,193 (renovated in 2018) Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, East Java - 45,000 (renovated in 2020) Batakan Stadium, East Kalimantan - 40,000 (built in 2017) There a few other stadiums that could be renovated - and as a country of 200 million there's certainly demand for modern stadia. There's currently 16 stadiums of a capacity of 30000 or more in addition to the ones listed, with some needing only minor expansion/renovation to be up to World Cup standard. But others including the one that had that stadium crush a couple of years back need serious overhauls.
  3. Sure a Viaplay cup game kicked-off at 8:30pm one evening, as they trialled a double-header. Don't mind a 8:30pm kick-off - if it's not far to travel.
  4. SPFL have stuck their round-up on the YouTube It's a pretty decent attempt at a highlights show all things considered. They have to rely on the clubs to provide them with footage more often than not - and given they have like 10 people that work for them in total, it's better than nothing. Don't think it's broadcastable, the BBC have minimum requirements which nearly every game on this falls short of - would quite like to see them get it on the Monday, but probably a tall order that.
  5. Anyone who goes on about "Wokeness" tends to be an idiot (Daily Mail/Sun Reader), a grifter (Emily Hewertson) or a wrong-un (Brand/Lozza Fox)
  6. Well, that's the pitch sorted. Given the Walter Mitty types that have been involved in various Scottish clubs - Livi included - over the years, a Scottish investor who is Managing Director of a pretty well known company seems like a pretty decent person to come in, on the face of at least.
  7. What's the prize money these days - it's what £6k for getting through to Round 2?
  8. Another Geography game Basically you get two countries and have to path your way between them in the fewest steps (i.e. France to Portugal - you'd click Spain) There's different game modes - countries, US States, UK Counties, Ukrainian Oblasts, French Regions etc. https://imois.in/games/travle/
  9. Is it bad that when seeing jokes about Kadyrov dying on Twitter, my first port of call is to come to P&B and see if @ICTChris has confirmed it or not?
  10. Everyone's favourite "she's turned the weans against us" billionaire divorced da is already supporting him
  11. Working Class Man is an excellent song, but I didn't realise until very recently he had been turned into meme with this song. The meme bit starts at 2:15
  12. Felt like sticking for bands just from more recent times (mostly) Frightened Rabbit Without a doubt the best Scottish band of the 21st century, obviously Scott Hutchison is sadly no longer with us, but the lyrics in so many of his songs mean so much. Incredible band, still kicking myself that I knocked back the chance to see them live a few years back. We Were Promised Jetpacks Only started really listening to them a couple of years ago and quickly became one of my favourite bands. So many amazing tracks, saw them live not too long ago as a support act and they were top notch. Thunder and Lightening is an incredible track, as is Quite Little Voices but This Is My House is a personal favourite Idlewild The Remote Part is a brilliant album, and it really feels they inspired a lot of the artists (including FR and WWPJ). Still think it's class that they were on one of the very early FIFA games Young Fathers Get Up, Toy, I Heard all brilliant, brilliant tracks. Every time they come out with a new album, they somehow take it to the next level. Heavy Heavy is probably in the top three albums I've listened to in the past year. Biffy Clyro Only Revolutions was an great album. Kind of annoyed that Many of Horror got turned into the X Factor song for Matt Cardle. Still class band. Niteworks A bit left-field, but the Gaelic electronica/techno/folk (I really don't know what you would call it) is excellent, and the most recent album was top notch stuff and had a few songs in Scots and English. If you haven't listened to them I would highly recommend, great band.
  13. Isn't it voluntary as to whether the Polis enforce the rules or not? As in, they'll do it on a game-by-game basis, which for Police Scotland means they'll do it for every game.
  14. I believe it's to do with the Vehicle Registration of Buses which is done at the UK level, by the DVLA. The same laws already apply in England and Wales apparently, not sure how often the Police enforce them though.
  15. About bloody time. Used to stay in Aberdeen and the lack of public transport options were horrendous North of the city, the roads were incredibly busy, given the populations of all these commuter towns, it's absolute madness that there was no rail link north. Cities of Aberdeen's size should really have proper commuter rail, and possibly even light rail options.
  16. If it's a long haul flight I get the appeal of it but just put your earphones in and watch a film or something. Or just book your holidays when the schools are in and that solves the problem and is far cheaper.
  17. Was wondering this, Dumbarton used to have the best highlights in the lower leagues, now even on the SPFL round-up they look really poor compared to a number of others.
  18. Night of the Medium-sized knives? I know it's Visegrad so take it with a pinch of salt.
  19. Do we reckon he's actually dead? If so it's a disappointing end to Summer 2023's main character arc.
  20. For both legs you would reckon that TNT will almost certainly take the Hibs game. BBC Scotland will definitely take the Hearts and Aberdeen home games as they're in the main "prime time" spot, and BBC will be charge of production for it. Annoyingly for the first leg, the Aberdeen game kicks off at 6pm so there's a small clash, haven't seem the PAOK kick-off time for the second leg, but it sounds like it will clash with the other two games, if it's the 6:30pm slot that the Greeks like to go for.
  21. For "sacrificing" two home games per season for TV that went into the general prize pot, which Ayr's share was over £500k last season. Ayr hosted Dundee and QP on the TV in the league last season, the attendances for both those games were 432 down and 178 up on the corresponding fixtures. So even at a generous £25 a head it cost Ayr a total of £6,700, which they would have made up in uplift from having the electronic advertising hoardings. It was well worth it for Ayr
