I’m only really going from my own teams struggles last year with much the same squad as what won us the Championship.

I suppose United fans have got more experience of the Championship than I do so maybe it is possible.

Did Utd go Championship - 4th - 12th - Championship? I thought there was another premiership year in between.

    Championship - 9th - 4th - 12th - Championship

You've unfortunately reminded me of Mellonball there.

Not sure why you think anyone would or should be interested.

We've got BBC Scotland for our stuff. Nobody down south gives a f**k about the Scottish Cup, and very few people could even tell you who is playing in the semis.

    No point pretending it's news.

I'm not sure that's completely true in all honestly. The BBC (network) went all out for Darvel, and in the past have done some pretty big stuff for Scottish Cup stories.

Maybe they are but they haven’t came out and said so like the other two I mentioned. Just going off Fraserburgh after they played in the playoffs

Pretty sure Sam North visited them in one his videos and they were relatively keen on going up to the SPFL.

  4. Some of you need to have a word with yourselves.

You're on for your best season in decades, and at very worst you'll be two knockout games away from the Premiership. Plus we still have a tendency to bottle things from here.

This Airdrie side absolutely embarrassed us at Tannadice only a few weeks ago as well, so it's fair to say McCabe has a knack for beating the better sides in the division.

  5. To be brutally honest, it's been downhill since Anna Signeul left.

Shelley Kerr carried the momentum early on, until the Argentina game from then on it collapsed under her. PML has been poor, but the Scottish FA's decision to offer him an extension is truly baffling.

The players, however, have to take a lot of criticism. There's no doubt there's quality in the squad, but they clearly fail to show it in a Scotland shirt, and the performance against England was one of the worst performances by any Scotland team, and it genuinely looked like they were trying to chuck the game.

I hope they do turn it round, starting tonight, but at a time when the SWPL, and Women's Football more generally is going from strength to strength it's absolutely unforgivable that SWNT are in total freefall.

The team needs overhauled, there's no denying it. How we are in the position we are in, is astounding considering we haven't played well since we beat Utd at Tannadice. I think it's just a really shitey bunch of teams this year and we have been the better of a bad bunch.

Mate, Arbroath and Queen's Park have been on the verge of winning this division in the previous two seasons.

My 10 year old laddie was asked to empty his pockets at Starks Park earlier in the season. When I questioned the steward about the legality he said he would refuse us both entry. My son thereafter emptied his empty pockets.

You don’t need to be a very clever steward to work out who should be getting searched/keeping a close eye on.

Said it before on here.No club is perfect-including Dundee United. Was a shocker from a few Raith fans yesterday.Reports of fighting-hear reports of that every week with different teams. Every team has a minority who act like fannies.

One of the trains down the road yesterday-Dunfermline fans having a wee sniff of some white powder in front of families/kids thinking they were the business!

    Absolute fannies!!

This is something that has got much worse recently (certainly since Covid), seems to be a fair few idiots in our support too that like the Colombian marching powder.

I don't like the new Sunday Sportscene format.

Aye, feature the Sunday game but do the same as MOTD2 and slso have a brief montage of the Saturday games.

    Agree.

A quick montage would take all of 3 minutes to show the goals from Saturday. Don't see how that effects anything in the running of a Sunday show. Especially when you have a relative borefest like today.

Im surprised no one else has commented on this but i had this on in the car driving back from an East of Scotland Premier league game on Saturday

Around 4.50 Kenny MacIntyre asks Willie Miller , how long to play at Tannadice. His genuine answer was "I dont know, i dont own a stop watch" to which they just carried on as if it did not matter.

Is he aware his phone can do this?

If he genuinely does not have a phone capable would it not be a worth while investment to buy a stopwatch or upgrade his phone.

Even if he forgot to start his stopwatch or phone, the betting sites tend to have a clock running on the game.

The other big mystery of the weekend was , where was Pat Bonner? he would have been class at Arbroath v Partick rather than Tam Courts who seems to have switched his name back from Thomas. His reporting sounded like they had just picked someone out of the crowd to cover the game.

He could literally have turned around and looked at the big screen which would have said.

  10. Just back in the house, a very good game that.

Lochee United were well on top in the first half, and really should have been two or three up. Was very much the opposite in the second with Broughty scoring an equaliser and missing several chances. Still don't know how they skied the open goal over the bar.

Felt like it would be a matter of time before the 'Ferry got the winner, but Lochee won a soft penalty with 15 to go, scored by Hay who got the first I think(?), before Bobby Linn scored an excellent team move to kill the game.

Good crowd at the Quest too. Thought there was about 400+ there.

  11. The "race" for the title pretty much can be sealed up this Wednesday.

Broughty host Lochee at the Quest Arena. Anything other than a win for Lochee, which looks unlikely based off their 3-0 defeat a few weeks back, and the title is heading to the Ferry.

Even if Lochee were to win, they would need Broughty to at least draw once more - and win their remaining games to win the title. Very much an uphill task.

    Remaining fixtures:

    Spoiler

27 Mar - Broughty Ath vs Lochee Utd

30 Mar - Lochee United vs Lochee Harp (13)
30 Mar - Scone (15) vs Broughty Ath

6 Apr - Letham (10) vs Lochee Utd
6 Apr - Tayport (9) vs Broughty Ath

13 Apr - Lochee Utd vs East Craigie (6)
13 Apr - Lochee Harp (13) vs Broughty Ath

17 Apr - North End (3) vs Lochee Utd

20 Apr - Downfield (7) vs Lochee Utd
20 Apr - Forfar Utd (20) vs Broughty Ath

24 Apr - Carnoustie Panmure (8) vs Lochee Utd
1 May - Forfar Utd (20) vs Lochee Utd

Realistically, you can't see Broughty dropping any points from now to the end of the season - with Tayport being the only side in the top half they have to face - although they edged them 3-2 at home earlier in the season. While Lochee Utd have 5 of the top 10 sides to face before the end of the season.

No promotion or relegation, but it looks like Broughty Athletic will make their Scottish Cup debut in 2024-25!

I think a move in a new direction was probably needed, but not to this. We don't need to hear Michael Stewart being pushed into a Craig Levein meltdown, we don't need to know what music Allan Preston likes.

That's quite enjoyable to listen to in all fairness. Especially when someone like Loy calls him out on it.
