  1. Sadly I've been away since the Open Goal game so haven't had the ability to tell much from the team, apart from what what goes on here and the match highlights. Apart from the Dalbeattie game and the Cumbernauld one (and to be fair I don't overly care about these cup results this season) the weekend past. I don't think many of us expected to be anywhere else than where we are. We played well against Celtic B and if, not for a glaring miss and a poor/incorrect red card, could have walked away from something there. We pushed Rangers B all the way, despite it being highlighted how much they spent over the summer on players. A point against Hearts B, after they trounced Berwick, came as a suprise to me at least. It must be horrendous for a young team like ours losing 3 goals in seven competitive games (eight including East Fife) and surely has affected their confidence going into these winnable games. As pointed out by Nelly, the club just don't have the draw to bring in the experienced players we need to make a real stab of it this year and to keep heads from falling on this run. We might look back at the end of the season and say it was the wrong decision but at least we are trying something different and in my opinion going to take longer than the end of August for that to become apparent. I know I have a much larger breaking point with working away and it gets harder and harder each season. But, if there's a time to rally round it's now. From the board, to the volunteers, to every single one of us getting our season tickets, match day tickets, programmes and scarves. We should all be proud of what we've put in. Let's not throw the towel in when we've reached the top of the hill with the hard games behind us and hopefully one day we'll be pointing at the heavens trying to spot a helicopter
  2. Went to see Penryn Reserves Vs Storm FC on Saturday. Attendance 26. Finished 4-1 to Penryn. A frantic start where neither team were outclassed but very much lacking in firepower and composure up front. Did say to the guy I was with around the half hour mark that this was going to die a death. About 5 minutes later it's 3-1, showing that I have as much knowledge of football as I do with water polo. A well taken finish as the ball broke from a bit of pinball in the box. A quickfire second after the CB got caught in possession. A reply straight from KO as Storm's speedy forward broke one on one and chipped the on rushing keeper. That was cancelled out by a slack back pass that was run onto by Penryn. Second half was all Penryn but a lack of cohesion between the players after a big swap over saw the game fizzle out. Until the final 10 minutes when the young right midfielder for Penryn took it past a few defenders and his shot was deflected into the path of the striker who had a tap in. The heat down here has really played havoc on the playing surfaces but it didn't really effect the game, with both teams going hammer and tong. If it hadn't been for a lack of concentration at the back I doubt Penryn would have walked away with the 4-1 win. Nice wee pub attached to the ground that doubles as the clubhouse on match days and it was free to get in (a whip around for the ref at HT). So no complaints for this callsign.
  3. Went to two Falmouth Town FC games this week. The first being the home game at the weekend against clevedon town and a big 4-0 win to earn their first 3 points since promotion the season before. 4 goals in the first half, which really could have been more, as the referee inexplicably blew for HT as town were through on the keeper. After the half it was a non entity with the job being done and the only effort of note being clevedon hitting the upright. The second was last night. A 3-1 win against Torpoint Athletic, winners of the eastern conference last year and promoted alongside town. Started with the big centre back for Torpoint sparking out the wide midfielder for Falmouth in a high ball challenge, where he led with his elbow. A red card anyday and right in front of linesman, who flagged and then told the ref it was a 50/50 gone wrong. No booking and even more shocking, not even a talking to. Falmouth again we're 3 up at the half and again the intensity dropped from KO in the 2nd. Torpoint quickly getting a goal back but the game fell into niggly fouls and dirty play and the ref almost lost control of the game. For the 6 pound entry fee a great couple of days out and a great atmosphere. their left midfielder Tim Nixon could play at league 2 level in Scotland and do a job
  4. The boys were tremendous today. Have to disagree on the red. It was a foul, but felt that there were numbers back by that point and the goalkeeper had stifled the chance. The team solidified well after that though. Thought their number 8 should have seen red after the spate of tackles on the halfway line, where he seemed to have a rush of blood. Celtic came out more urgent after halftime and we tired but there's no complaints tonight from me. Fought well and it was a well taken goal, which will surely give Chris and the forwards a bit confidence going forward. There is a great sense of togetherness from both the support and players and it is only time before it shows in results. Onwards to Tuesday...Mon cowden
  5. Some day that was! Certainly the complete opposite feeling 8 years on
  6. Take the hint neebur...have a break [emoji3531]
  7. A sad day for us. I was disappointed with the lack of urgency from the players yesterday but looking forward to seeing Berwick and East Stirling again after so many years. A great chance to press the button without fear of being club 42. Good luck to the Rose in the new season. Met a few of the fans and they were a good bunch. On to the next adventure [emoji170][emoji1054]
  8. The beast getting his turkey and cranberry lick. Merry Christmas folks!
  9. "Hurry up, Harry come on.... We're going down in lockdown"
  10. Thought we were due one after the tackle on mango? But If our handball penalty was one then they should have had one of toddy. Its been a while since my heart has stopped at a game but that done it
  11. Poor game. Cammy Gill with a couple of great saves. Was saying about needing a slice of luck through the week and we got it in the penalty. One of the poorest attempts I've seen.
  12. Not a mask in sight. Their utter contempt for the safety of our Lord and saviour is disgusting. Tweeted to scotrail.
  13. Out at a gig in Dunfermline and the only danger I see is the amount of townies. Sturgeon and her legion of lick spittles can do one
  14. The first time in a long time I've walked out with a smile on my face. Good performance and hopefully we can keep it up in the next couple of weeks
  15. After missing the last game against Forfar and having no competitive game last weekend I am looking forward to being back. Stirling will be a tough test and we sorely need to break the bad spell. We will win eventually and why not tomorrow? Hopefully if we do go behind the players heads don't drop and start to panic but stick to the plan being implemented by Ross. Mon the Coo let's push on!
  16. Plymouth Argyle vs Wigan Athletic yesterday. Last minute winner for the Lactics was a sore one to take as the second half was all Argyle. A sellout with over 15000 there. Great wee day out at the fanfest too.
  17. Was getting on a flight earlier, every seat taken and in the queue a woman told my wife and I we were too close to her. Obviously being a hard man my initial response wasn't sorry but a finely balanced argument about it being ironic she was getting on a packed plane... (it wasn't, I shat it and apologised immediately and took a dramatic step back)
  18. I wasn't there today, but going by the BBC it was exactly like elgin. Lose a goal and lose the head. Need a rallying result that I was hoping today would bring. We can turn this around just need a bit luck. It will come i am sure we just need to keep the faith
  19. Quite refreshing that. Bollan was awful for bemoaning effort levels then starting the same 11 the next week. Hopefully some players that have been known to coast through games take it as a warning that they aren't guaranteed a spot and kick on to their full potential
  20. This. One thousand times this! Had premier sports the other night and it was the first advert every single break. Must have seen it about 20 times that night. Infuriating
  21. Really sorry to hear that mate. Hope you're doing alright
