  1. I don't think it's an issue in the East. There should definitely be a hard border between semi pro and amateur which the current application model was doing fine until the WoS decided to close their doors. Along with the state of the amateur leagues there I can see why they are trying something different, but I'm not convinced. I really don't think there is any need for change in the east, even the amateur leagues are all doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances
  2. It might be easier and cheaper to invent a whole new tourist industry around The Monster of Lochindorb than it would to get a ground in Inverness. Fair play to both teams if they make it work. 2 teams missing key ingredients the other one has, we can bitch about the name and "they play nowhere near Loch Ness" but to anyone who hasn't had an IV postcode they are near enough
  3. Back to ammys for diddies like this. Proper amateur league mentality
  4. Not when it mattered though, he was only in it for himself but was hiding when his team needed him. I had to go back and check, I'm notorious at getting names wrong. Got rightly destroyed in another chat for writing Osgood was backup for the Sens, genuinely thought I typed Sogaard but my brain had other ideas... Wasn't even close!
  5. Beith Juniors 2-1 Darvel Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 2-3 Glenafton Athletic Shorts Bon Accord 1-1 Petershill Kilsyth Rangers 2-2 Vale of Clyde Ardeer Thistle 1-3 Dalry Thistle Glenvale 2-0 Lugar Boswell Thistle
  6. Interesting to hear him say the game is more dangerous now than it was in the 90's because they have stopped the defenders being allowed to interfere as much. So now you have "humans missiles" getting a 200 foot run at your defence and you aren't even allowed to slow him down a bit coming into the zone. Rempe absolutely pasted the Toronto new guy to the boards TWICE and "hard man" (fraud) Reeves was on the ice both times and done nothing until the had a play flight later.
  7. 6'8 and a half now. He's grown a bit since his draft Nick Kyprios tells it well, he will know best on how to play that position/role. https://youtu.be/l0OujIQjniM?si=eTmLuRziOBd3HTKt
  8. The problem is that F1 have recently given 100's of kids with no journalism experience press passes. They have to fill up 300 tictok clips per day with mouth-paste, therefore we get flooded with this Lewis vs Max shite. There are plenty of interesting, insightful stories throughout the sport, but they don't don't have the intelligence to report them properly and their whole world revolves around 30 seconds of clickbait. Even P1 with Matt and Tommy is cringy pish now, when they use to be quite mature with their updates. My 1st F1 rant of the season!
  9. With RB/Torro Rosso or whatever they are called having an identity crisis, would it not NOW make sense to brand them as Minardi? Having that as the team name alone will boost the rest of the sponsorship over the car and will surely give the team a boost. I hear Craig Stoddart still has the naming rights though so I don’t know how complicated that could get
  10. The F1 season should always start in Melbourne, fk the weather now it starts a bit earlier
  11. Is there any reason why BoD are never mentioned in this 2 horse title race? I'd have them joint favourites with Brechin right now
  12. *muted cheers from Grantown* I'm torn, I want to see Lochee up, but only when it's funny... Like if it was Lossie or Deveronvale at the bottom of the HL. As a neutral, it fallout would be spectacular entertainment
  13. MotoGP has the potential to be massive if it was marketed in the right way and they get lucky with competitive machinery and riders. The 1st season I watched was the battle between a young Biaggi and Caparossi, which Mike Doohan won! Rossi was still in the 125's or 250's. Then Doohan retired, Rossi stepped up, Suzuki gave Roberts Jnr a decent bike, Colin Edwards came over and all hell broke loose! I still think it was as entertaining as any F1 championship I have watched
  14. It's the American model. Increase revenue until you milk every bit of fun out of it, then watch it implode, walk into the sunset and start a new series. The NHL and MLB seasons are a joke for fixture congestion and shite, meaningless games amongst what SHOULD be an awesome product. I remember being excited about a back-to-back in F1. Now they all seem to be back-to-back. Good races used to be a privilege to watch, now we try to manipulate races so they are all "exciting" to suit the DTS fans, and they are all becoming a bit meh
  15. I'm sure it became the main reason City never got the go ahead to play there when they we looking, but my memory is sketchy.
  16. At least we found a cure for Clach's shiteness. They just need to pay you to f off for the season
  17. Craigmark Burntonians 1-2 Rutherglen Glencairn Darvel 3-1 Ardrossan Winton Rovers Hurlford United 2-0 Cumbernauld United Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 1-4 Auchinleck Talbot Lanark United 1-2 Shotts Bon Accord Larkhall Thistle 3-4 Glenafton Athletic
  18. I've been to the ground once but there wasn't a game. You are correct though, it's a group of houses in the middle of the Caithness wilderness and 2 lined fields that are cut a bit shorter than the ones the sheep are in.
  19. They seem to have brief spurts of enthusiasm, next I'm reading they are taking a year out! They are like the daft village team from Caithness who's only purpose is to piss off Thurso and Wick, I've always liked them for that! Brora is grim, give me Golspie any day for a game.
  20. The shinty pitch at Inverarnie had potential but I don't know what happened there... Then Muir of Ord, which could be a decent ground. Out of the NCL, Tain have the park, land and space but are only just there and will be just looking to stabilise and Halkirk moved across the road too for more space. I don't know if any of them have got round to moving the changing rooms though
  21. The Ferry Brae locals were not amused, compo faces all over the local rags about it
  22. If you get a chance to read about Inverness City and the hassle they had trying to get somewhere to play Junior League football in Inverness. A groundshare makes it more possible but there is no chance they will be allowed sufficient availability of the park to be a licensed team there... imo
  23. It's been weird for a while. They had the park (I assume Rockworks) just off the ferry that looked perfect to grow from, never played there and they hardly seem to have played a home match on the island since. Take that with a LARGE pinch of salt. Although Loch Ness seem to have their shit together more than Inverness Athletic ever had tbf
  24. Someone will have a definite list but I have heard Dyce and most of the usual suspects at the top end of the midland league have enquired. There doesn’t seem to be much interest apart from maybe Bridge of Don from the North Juniors and no one new in the North Caledonian are anywhere near. (Watch as Halkirk or Orkney go and get themselves one now)
  25. He has a brass one for having his camera out for that nonsense! I get he has been a healthy scratch and was only brought in to fill a gap so won't play much, and he's young and minted, whatever... But put the fking camera away!
