Big club status in East Lothian changes on a regular basis. At moment, my team isn’t the biggest, perhaps just be the best.
I can see where the original poster is coming from and what is said is certainly mirrored, in most, to the Edinburgh Evening News. But my point regarding the coverage of football related issues in East Lothian stands.
Also, as far as I am aware, (ALLEGEDLY - in case I am wrong) coverage of the 6 teams mentioned is not even dealt with by a full time journalism; but rather someone who is totally into football at this level.
I actually completely forgot about the noisey ones from along the road! They are all in the LL forum so I might get away with mentioning 'natural order' and Burgh being a 'bigger' club but
It needs someone with the time, ability and unrivalled commitment because there is hardly any money to be made for the majority of local reporters. It's a labour of love rather than a career now which is quite shit for the talented ones

Hold the bus! Have not read the West Lothian Courier so can’t comment. However, the reference of ‘dismal quality of local papers’ certainly Does Not fit the script where the East Lothian Courier is concerned. Always a great coverage of the 5 EoS teams and one Lowland league team each week. May be we are unique, as a region, but don’t put blame where it’s not merited.
Helps when you are the ‘big team’ in East Lothian though
I honestly feel sorry for local journalists, it’s a thankless job and the market has completely imploded on them with these websites that just sweep up and plagiarise their work while creaming in ad money

There was a really good Facebook page that was doing round ups of West Lothian football, mostly amateurs though. Doon the park or something, haven't seen it for a while but I'm hardly on there now

Talbot have done that most seasons for about 40 years
Don't think Talbot have to play any AWAY games as far as 100+ miles away though

Dalbeattie will scrape a draw with Talbot and win the shootout, then also do Broxburn away on pens.
Talbot then spunk it at home to Broxburn 2-1 with a dodgy last min goal
...and I believe Dalbeattie would go up on the head-to-head(?)
EDIT - I know it goes to goal difference, the last line is a poor attempt at humour

This happens a few times, Think happened to West park as the manager and players left to become the St Rochs team this year.
Players in the first team and the U20s are on the same types of contracts either amateurs or professional so the U20s job is to make the first team or be called up when they are short at any of the divisions including up and the Lowland leagueYes we know Franko

Knightswood will have team on the park even though 12 players left after head coach announced he was going to St Peter's it will be a mixture of players from their amateur side and 20s. ,
At least they are making an effort

St Peter’s will have a team on the park this Saturday
That's nice of them.
Will Knightswood have a team too? Wonder if they just chuck games rather than calling up a few of the young team to fulfil their fixtures

I suspect Stranraer would have serious problems attracting players if they went down to the LL. It was bad enough for Cowdenbeath and Albion Rovers.
It might open up some better players who can't manage their work around a League 2 calender but it find it easier to play LL, maybe on less money too

the wee rose?
Doubt it, they seem happy with the income boost and have plans to reinvest. I'd probably say Stranraer if I was guessing

For me, the people running F1 - the FIA and Liberty - are all cretins.
I remember the old talk of breakaways - bring that back!
I totally agree, but were Mosley, Bernie and Whiteing any less corrupt? I'm an old school fan, but there were so many dodgy decisions and moments in the 80's and 90's that would cause twitter to meltdown and a million court appearances.
Sienna's penalty, then non-penalty the year after
Schumacher being allowed to take a drive through penalty after the finish line
All the nonsense around spygate and crashgate
I prefer not to get hung up on the politics and just enjoy the absolute carnage! It's all wrong but I try not to look that way

I think it’s probably too early to say. This is the first real season that they’ve been under SAFA jurisdiction.
SPAFA seem to be making a lot of progress with the 19s, and have developed a 21s league for next season too.
Not sure how the Caley are getting on with theirs, but seems yet another wedge has been driven between the setups. It would make much more sense have 19s and 21s under the same umbrella, but maybe that’s just me. Having 19s and 21s within SAFA is great, but don’t see the benefit of having them under two different sub-associations.
It seems to be a good idea, but about 3 steps out of sequence. There are a few other things that should've been in place to make it work better. I don't want to discourage the change as I agree having them under the SAFA is a good step, but you are right about it creating another barrier between the leagues.
It will be interesting to see how things settle down once the link up with the WoS happens. I still have a lot of questions there

Are the Under 21 and under 19 teams being allowed in the league helping at all?
Is it better than the alternative for the youth teams?

You're the one that came on bubbling about my post rather than just addressing the point.
I didn't see any point to your post, that's why I questioned it.
You have been around LL grounds
Some are good some are bad
Then some tinfoil shit at the bottom accusing the OP of being in some sort of cult
I was just a bit confused.

Are they allowed to sign players so late in the season? It is all just pure amateur league stuff

It's a discussion forum, when people talk obvious nonsense there's a chance of disagreement. What bit of my post are you disagreeing with or are you just in tears that the LL dafty cult is being questioned?
Settle down. The only dafty cult is going on in your head, the rest of us are just here for football and to take the piss out of Darvel

I've been to most of the grounds in the LL and there are instances of excellent facilities (although the likes of Airdrie and Falkirk I would argue are way too big for the teams using them and don't give an enjoyable fan experience) and far more evidence of fairly poor ones, from the decrepit to the council cages. It's mental how many folk refuse to be objective because "jUnIoRs" and I suspect you're in that category.
Can nobody compliment the Lowland League without you getting all defensive? You are the only person still bleating on about this

Clach have some right numpties in their support, including me. I thought the Supporters Trust was just a token thing where you paid a tenner a year and got a wee badge or something, turns out they own 70% of the club and have just decided to punch themselves very hard in the face.
I'm sure they'll all be queuing up to help out in the middle of winter when the club need them most when they are all bored and not bothering going to every game

It's actually getting annoying how good the Avs are, I really hope Carolina roast them in the final... But the Avs will probably come back from 3-0 in games and a goal behind with 30secs left to win the cup.
It's almost inevitable now.
At least Ottawa understand banter, this is how you finish a shootout...
