  1. Absolute pish. A week ago Wedderburn was top drawer in the second half against Elgin helping us to earn a point. I think it has been fairly obvious that in the recent games he has not played we have missed him.
  2. Missed Nicky today . Draw was a fair result. A mystery how Elgin got a penalty in the first half and a similar challenge in the second half in the Elgin penalty box goes unpunished. We march on to the title.
  3. I am not quite sure where you get the rationale for Matty Aitken not wanting to score yesterday. He was on loan to you for six months four years ago. Hardly a long term tie with Elgin would exist within him. He also seemed to do okay against Forfar earlier in the season scoring a double against them. If we continue in the winning form we are (which includes games where we haven’t played particularly well) then I don’t see BB holding any real fears for us come February. Especially if Elgin continue in the form they are in, with nothing to suggest an upward turn in that regard. I do however admire your optimism, it’s what keeps us going !!
  4. I ain’t being funny but if you play three up front next week against Stenhousemuir you will get crucified.
  5. You have and it was it was posted on LinkedIn earlier this week.
  6. Fair play to Elgin they did what they needed to do. Dumbarton looked like a team that knew that if they lose it counted for nothing. Elgin have secured L2 status for next season but the warning signs have been there for them. They need to build on this and avoid a similar situation next season. I hope they do.
  7. I had the relative fortune due to geography of being one of the few Warriors fans able to make this game in last night in person. To be honest I feared we would get nothing from it. Elgin despite their recent troubles always seem to perform well against us at Borough Briggs and with them having a caretaker management team in place who picked an attacking line up for once, my lack of confidence didn’t improve. If our headed chance in the first five mins had gone in, I think we would have gone on to win easily but it didn’t and we allowed Elgin to scrap and fight resulting in us playing route one football all night. Why we did this when they have Ross Draper mopping everything up at the back is baffling yet run at him and he is clueless. Again, surely down the sides playing against two relatively inexperienced full backs would have been a better option. Euan O’Reilly doesn’t however feature until the last ministers of the game. Kane Hester was a nuisance all night and ultimately he was him that laid on their goal for Reid to score. I did say that we would get one chance however didn’t I expect Ross Forbes to score from that position and angle. We scraped a point but on the balance Elgin deserved all three. I am always still hopeful that we make the top four but on tonight’s showing that is doubtful and even if we did we are unlikely to progress.
  8. I would be surprised if the SFA, at the very least don’t look at this further given the nature of the allegation. I suspect they already have given it potentially involves other players as some have already mentioned. To prove a criminal charge the Crown are required to present evidence to prove it beyond reasonable doubt which is rightly a high threshold to meet. On this occasion it appears the Crown couldn’t sway the jury, or enough of them and that comes down to how well the Crown did their job. Reading between the lines, it appears the jury thought that he was ‘probably guilty’ but the ‘Not Proven’ verdict is a half way house available to them and not at all a satisfactory outcome. Juries at the end of the day are notoriously fickle. The SFA will most likely not need that burden of proof and may work on the balance of ‘probability’ which is a lower standard to establish wrongdoing.
  9. I am maybe thinking to much into this but by this time of night the managers reaction to the game has been posted on You Tube.
  10. After 22 years Elgin really should have been challenging more than they have but they haven’t which is is really disappointing given the infrastructure they have in place. They have become sort of ‘bed blockers’ of the league. I guess if you rely on inferior imports from the south then you will always be where you are. Players will come as go without any real feeling for the club or attachment to the area. In recent years who has been the two most consistent players for Elgin - arguably Soapy and Darryl - both Elgin based. Why not encourage the youth and blend with local Highland league experienced players. Elgin have had a fright this year which would be best taken heed of otherwise the inevitable play off scrap will come and with ambitious teams ready to step up nothing is guaranteed.
  11. Based on what I saw I have to say that apart from a couple of scrambled goal lines clearances in the second half the Warriors looked very composed. Special mention as always to Nat Wedderburn absolutely bossed the midfield. Euan O’Reilly is certainly special right enough. All round not a single failure in the team today and to say we were slightly better than Elgin and mediocre is a tad unfair but hey it’s all about opinions
  12. This is becoming ridiculous now. We have no devine right to up the top of the table but we certainly should be challenging if nothing else. To rip apart a squad albeit an underperforming one and replace it with inferior players is criminal. We operate in a trap door league and should have heeded the warnings of the past two seasons but it appears not. We are sleepwalking our way toward a Brechin type scenario and looking at the teams willing and able to replace us coming up who would give us hope. We cannot week on week wait for the turn around to come. Funnily enough listened to Willie Miller describing Dundee on the radio. They are getting plaudits for playing well but not winning which is all very well but there comes a time when you don’t play and don’t even look like winning. Stephen Swift sounds a nice guy and I have no doubt he desperately wants to do well but sometimes things just don’t work out even early on it becomes clear.
  13. Can anybody tell me what Gary Harkins brought to the team apart from that cross, he literally did less than feck all and that is being charitable. At times it was absolutely embarrassing the lack of effort he put in. For one I would happy never to see him adorn a Warriors top again.
  14. Have to say that was a great performance by the Warriors today and maybe has been coming. Solid in defence and especially midfield and tireless up front. Did however fear the worst when Elgin got their second and thought at that point we would collapse as we have done in so many games recently. Absolutely great to see us doing a number at the death.
  15. Great win for the warriors didn’t see us taking anything today given our recent record at BB. Apart from the last 10 mins when you expect an onslaught thought we were comfortable throughout and 1-0 flattered Elgin. Great to see is playing on a good surface and playing the ball about.
