What relevance does that have with doing what’s best for Scottish football as a whole?
We got ourselves into this mess and it’s up to us to make our way out of it.....

They owe us one back after refusing us promotion due to the stadium rules. Shambolic now as there is no rules and Ayr could have got up.

The current Championship format is great for fans and entertainment with few meaningless games.
Just because we failed for the first time in many years you don’t change the rules to make things easier.
    That’s OF type thinking.....

It might be but the glory hunters will only be out to see a successful Falkirk team In cup finals and playoffs league one crowded will take a hit.

Bottom line is Championship clubs want two more clubs in their League as a safety net plus want to take some money away from club that finishes first and redistribute it around other Championship clubs.  There is no chance of Colts being allowed in at any level in the SPFL - just flying a kite and if any change is made 2 new clubs would be admitted.  L1/L2 clubs voted 20-0 against Colts teams being admitted to the SPFL at any level.  Changes such as these are more complex than they look as they lead to issues re voting powers, board representation, share of league monies which are not easily resolved

    Exactly well said

They know if Queens go down with Falkirk it’s bad news for the tv deal and crowds. 12 teams makes perfect sense.
Do we want to see a Championship with Alloa, Arbroath and Montrose next season?

    Yes.

Arbroath vs Montrose will be box office viewing on BBC Scotland.

They can't even get the relegation  bit in the transition season right

Surely at least have a play off between bottom of championship and the team that comes third in division 1. There needs to be a threat of relegation from the league.

Im sure the season the spl went to 10-12 teams there wasn’t relegation or am I wrong?

Ironically I think that squad would be good enough to take us straight back up. However it needs a different, more attack minded manager, and sadly we can’t keep the players in the squad that matter.....

I don’t think the squad is good enough. He better to get some players who know the lower leagues.

I would only keep Dixon, McGhee and possibly McShane. The Edge May be ok for League 1.

Would love to keep Harry, Rudden and Lavery after today but can’t see it.

I would like to see us go straight back up but it’s going to be very tough especially if McKinnon is still in charge.

I also hope the club drastically lower their prices next season too.

I would get rid of the lot other than the keeper and Rudden. Neither will stay so I would say start again. Get Houston and Baird back.

Hands up if you were one of the Falkirk fans who chased after a director’s car and started kicking it?

Only slightly more insane than McKinnon still targeting the top flight. The guy was in charge for 95% of the season and is trying to act as if it would have been a miracle to keep them up.

He had his chance. He’s had chances all season to pull away and failed every time. He has no excuses. I think Jim McIntyre was more honest in his assessment. Ray is still trying to say these players gave it there all why can’t he admit recruitment wasn’t good enough?

That's not how it works m9. Failing to get promoted to the Premiership doesn't automatically mean relegation to League one. They'll still be in the Championship.

    Unlike yourself.

They have always been a club battling at the bottom. There only hope is Montrose go up and Alloa don’t do much. 8th will be there target.

I wouldn’t bet on that - for or against.  Getting out of the Championship is very difficult and unpredictable.

This is our best chance since being relegated of going up via the play offs and I still wouldn’t put our chances at any more than 50%.

Dundee are the West Brom of Scottish football they always bounce back and even manage it going bust a few times. Sickening for Falkirk as we keep within our budget. It could be a close title race with the two Dundee clubs next season if they don’t go up this year. I can’t see any other club challenging.

I’d suggest a swap for Jimmy McIntyre but I reckon the Board at Dundee FC would hold out for a £200k fee.  You know how hard nosed these Yanks are.

Dundee will win the Championship next season whoever is manager (assuming United go up via playoffs)
