Indeed, the junior cup is a shell of a competition with no relevance unless you are from a backwater like Auchinleck. Any team that wins it can have no claim to be the best of anything.

Formartine 3-2 Clydebank We took the lead in the first minute, nicky low strike with a 30mph wind behind it befuddled the home keeper. We made silly mistakes especially second goal and the third was made by their striker who was a nuisance all game. Thought formartine looked sharp and maybe a touch fitter than us. Deflected strike got it back to 3-2 and save at the near post late on denied extra time which on the second half showing we wouldnt have deserved. Good luck Formartine in next round.

We had ten men for most of the game, a poor call for me looked like johnstone got the ball but you cant really tackle anymore. You couldn't really say it changed the game as we passed up numerous chances, tc through on goal, graham header and darroch unmarked from a corner. Even the benburb first goal was through our mistake, dodgy ball back to keeper when it should have been on the motorway. There wont be many more hardworking teams in the league than Benburb.

More praise for beith keeper, not just his saves but quick thinking to release the winger for the winner, although poor from us, he should have been taken out and the attack stopped. Little through one on one should have made it 2 and might have been a different game, our keeper had a free header in injury time too. Dissapointing to be out a cup so early but was a tough draw. Have to question why we have a bench made up of youth players while we have two out on loan, higgins should have been recalled as soon as mulcahy left imo.

Some strange results, do teams take this competition seriously i wonder. Shocker for bo'ness and the lowland league. Playing Darvel in scottish cup next week will be interesting.

Its sfa rules cup games have to be played over a certain weekend afaik. Don't know why sunday was refused , im not on the board. Are scotland not playing that weekend?
