If Livingston and Hamilton can get to the SPL, then there's no reason Airdrie can't. After years in the third tier, it would be brilliant for the club. Early days, but if you finish in a play-off spot, then who knows? Thistle should have done it last year.

Looking at that, most of them seem to be Celtic fans! The column of seats in which the big lump wearing the white top is sitting; the guy to the right of the first aider; and bar the guy wearing the blue hoops, and the person next to him, the entire RHS of the stand shown! Knowing the OF as I do, I bet they were growling at the home support at the end for having the audacity to celebrate!

I think anybody who claims we weren't lucky yesterday is deluded. However, that's part of the game. I can remember so many times when we were robbed. Let's just be thankful that we took all three points and hope we don't screw up against Georgia.

I don't watch English footy and, like you, love the Scottish game. I was at the game on Thursday and Thistle could've scored 5. A real shame, but credit to County, that was some fight back. Incredible, really.

I cannot see how anybody could claim differently. It was a bizarre game, but to come back from being 3-0 on aggregate with 19 mins to go is just stunning. Thistle should have killed the tie off at Firhill. They simply failed to take their chances, and it's a shame, but respect to County, they took theirs.

Just back. What a game! I love the way Thistle play, they're a delight to watch and I really hope their spurned chances don't cost them. They should've scored more, but at 2-0 Ross County are very much still in this, especially if they take an early lead in Dingwall. These play-offs have produced some really great games and, whilst Thistle have the advantage, it wouldn't surprise me if County can still pull off a shock up there. I really hope I'm wrong, as it would be brilliant to see Thistle back in the top flight, especially if they play like that. Doolan said he's not going to change anything and they will be looking to win the tie, but I'm not sure that's the best approach. Anyway, looking forward to the game on Sunday. 'mon the Jags!

I agree with @Marten. In fact I would take it further and have only the top two divisions of the SPFL on a national level. I would then have three regional SPFL divisions below that: Highland, East and West, would probably be the best. By creating more derbies and less travel, this should help boost crowds. The problem with league reconstruction, though, is that accepting more teams into the SPFL will result in smaller payments. That is a big problem, as most clubs will simply not vote for it. I'm sure I read somewhere that the relegated club from the bottom league gets £60k as a parachute payment, whereas the Highland champions get £5k.

I think there's a sizeable gulf between the two leagues. I wouldn't like to say, to be honest. Certainly Thistle made it look easy last night, though.

The Spartans is a bit quirky, I agree, but acceptable. It's Caledonian Braves that I cannot bear, as it just sounds so American, as does Cumbernauld Colts, come to think of it. Additionally, I'm not sure how I would feel about a university's team playing in the SPFL. An outfit that will change their name for cash, is also not welcome (Open Goal Broomhill). Tranent need to drop 'Juniors' now they're playing in the senior league. In fact, there's a case to be made for zero promotion/relegation spots with the Lowland League on account of their names.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of people from Coatbridge are really not interested in Albion Rovers, which is probably why they're in this position. Don;t get me wrong, they have a dedicated and loyal band of followers, but they number around 250. It's simply not enough to sustain football in the SPFL, IMHO.

The ground has a capacity of just over 6,000. I'm guessing the one behind the goal holds 2,000, as it was almost full yesterday, but not quite. The temporary stand accommodates 700, according to footballgroundguide.com, so I would guess 3,300. 1,600 home fans for a play-off final against local rivals is dreadful, btw. So aye, the stand was more than half empty if my calculation's correct.

The maximum number of spots for relegation is two. So how would that work? The Highland League and Lowland League champions could have a play-off as they do now, with the winner taking the place of the side that finishes bottom. The loser of the play-off then plays the second bottom side. That would work. I just think the Lowland League is tinpot for admitting reserve teams. It also means the side that finishes fourth could potentially contest the play-off, if the three B teams finish in spots 1-3. It's a joke of a league.

Is he political? That's going to alienate part of his prospective audience.
