  1. Killie have signed Greg Stewart. So Bobby Wales back to us maybe?I wondered if they took him back as cover in the event a striker failed to materialize, hopefully it means a return for Wales, fingers crossed.
  2. If fans want change, they need to make their voices heard, turning around and walking straight out of the gate changes nothing. He has to go now to at least try to save the season. The Alloa board almost always leaves things far to long, then it's panic stations.
  3. I don't think they have the money to sack him,why else is he still there? His record must surely be as bad as Barry Ferguson's,I don't have the stats, but they must be around the same.Get big Andy in charge.Andy was a big reason for our better players staying with us over the last three or four seasons,he convinced them to stick with us.He is respected by every player in the dressing room, and is regarded highly in coaching circles,Andy as gaffer for me.I have every faith he could turn things around.
  4. The guy up the road from me texted me on his way home today, says that's his last game this season, along with his son. These are by no means the only fans I've heard from in the last few weeks saying the same.We won't get rid,but fans seem to be giving up.The board are always deaf to fans anyway.
  5. Rice signed the defenders,or most of them.He also coaches the team,it's at least partly his fault. No excuses, results are what matters. You can play the best looking football, but if you don't win you get sacked.
  6. I don't like saying I told you so,but I told you so.Rice is an utter failure this season. We have to get rid,and put Andy Graham in charge. There a now rumours of unrest, players not happy with being played out of position, and poor gameplans.Might be complete rubbish, but it's obvious something's not right. If we stick with Rice league 2 football is inevitable.
  7. Well,8th on goal difference,we're going to make the play off's ok.The wrong one's.How many late goals have we shipped now?
  8. That's the point though,we never look sharp. At the end of the day we are virtually toothless up front,no matter who we use. This season is very similar to Peter Grants second season.Poor signings, poor football, and we know how that season ended.
  9. I'm sorry, but given our abysmal form so far,we should take every single game seriously.A win Gee's the team up,even against a b team.A loss though, and then we take that into a must win game this weekend, won't help much will it.His jacket is hanging on a shaky nail, and this can't help but get fans backs up.It must by some logic also show that the guys outside the first eleven are nowhere near good enough, not close.Sorry but fans expect the club to take games seriously when we are struggling.Sorry about the rant.
  10. If any Alloa fan starts with the"he needs time,it's to early to sack him,he's a nice guy,it's criminal to say sack him right now, or anything else remotely similar, they need to take a good long look at the situation. The situation is,and i'm completely serious,is the very real chance of relegation.Surely, even at this point in the season it's bloody obvious he needs to go.Andy in charge this weekend please.
  11. GTF Brian Rice is what it says.Get Big Andy in as manager a.s.a.p
  12. If we don't beat Annan, that's us in deep trouble. At that point Rice would need to go,no question.
  13. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do as a Alloa fan,to decide not to go to games this season. But with first Fergusion, and now Rice as managers, and the poor quality on show, enough was enough for me.Brian Rice is now being found out as the poor appointment I thought he'd be.Is there another team in the league that can't get loan signings in?and that won't change. That must be down to Rice.Bottom end of the table at best.
  14. I know some will think I've got no right to comment on this year's team,as I gave up going to watch Alloa this year, despite being a fan of over fifty years. However,Alloa's demise did not just start this year,it has been ongoing for a while now.Brian Rice,it would seem has not,and will not change. In my opinion, and it is only my opinion,we got to last season's play off's,despite Rice, not because of him.It was a very poor league last season, and we really could not string a decent run together.I would suggest, given what I hear from people who still attend games,we will be around the foot of the table come the end of the season if this is what this team can produce. As I say I may not have the right to comment, but it's still a concerning state of affairs. It would also appear that we can't get anyone to loan us players, the season is up and running, and for the first time in years we have no plans already in place.I suppose other part time teams are the same,or are they at our level.Worrying.
  15. My wife just let me know the scoreline,Christ,I'm just glad I won't be there to watch these disasters this season.Wishing you guys all the luck in the world watching the team this season, you'll most likely need it.
  16. Feel the same pain, trust me.Can't imagine watching Alloa under Rice next year,so I will most certainly not be.All the best to Alloa fans who will be there though.
  17. I completely agree with you.I never wanted Rice to get the job,and he showed throughout the season that he could not decide, week after week who his best starting eleven were.He constantly plays players out of position, even with a full squad to choose from.I do however have sympathy with him in relation to injuries.I gave up on him months ago,and have found other things to do on a Saturday with the family.I also will not be renewing my season ticket next year. His style of play, poor understanding of the players best positions etc is enough to put me off.It has been a painful watch at best at times this season.I suppose Printer will be on to correct my spelling and general use of full stops etc.He seems to like doing that.Guess we all need a hobby though.
  18. Nice to see someone can have a wee laugh just now.I haven't been on the last couple of days due to organising two funeral's for close family who have passed away recently. When I can be arsed coming back here, maybe I'll get my sense of humour back like you guys.Have a nice evening.I still only want a successful Alloa side, despite everything.Football is my stress relief, but it ain't working just now,so won't be back anytime soon.
  19. It's not a strange interview though,it's the norm.He can't see that the way he sets up the team is wrong, and at times utterly baffling, not surprising we perform the way we do.The problem is,he will never change,it's his default setting.people will no doubt disagree.I have one question for Alloa fans though, would you want him in the dugout next season doing the same thing?because it's frustrating now,so god knows what it will feel like in a years time.I don't think he's a bad guy,he's just not a great manager. It's really poor to not take a portion of the blame.
  20. Listen,I'm made up for you if you enjoy what's on offer, and that's your right, but I stand by my opinion, that was shite today, and not for the first time this season under Rice.A good few players just aren't at it at all, aren't good enough. If we continue down this path,my seat won't be the only empty one,and maybe empty next season with the tactical marvel in the dugout. But I've only cheered Alloa on for fifty three years,so maybe I'm not all that entitled to have an opinion. But I don't hold grudges,so I really hope you enjoy the rest of the season,I honestly do.All I want is a successful Alloa.
  21. That's the root of the problem right there,he doesn't think his team set is wrong at all,he just doesn't.Playing guys out of position is part of his DNA,he will always do it,ask any Hamilton fan.I have two Hamilton fans at work, and they took the piss constantly when he got the Alloa gig,This league is terrible, with a decent manager in charge we could be doing much better, just by getting the basics right.Sorry, but similar results from Ferguson would have had everyone baying for his blood, but Rice seems quite immune from that sort reaction. It's time for change.
  22. We can't continue with Brian Rice as boss.He refuses point blank to play players in their proper positions,as Hamilton fans warned us about.I also don't believe we'll get any more signings in,despite us needing them, including a good, pacey striker, not happening, just don't see it,we're a poor squad.Overall his signings haven't been a great success.I just can't watch games any longer, it's just so frustrating to see the baffling tactics and team set up each week. All the best to you guys,it's going to be a frustrating watch for you all for the remainder of the season.
  23. Doubt if we'll get any more signings in now,so we could get rid of Rice now,and get a replacement in a.s.a.p.What do we have to lose.Even the most relaxed Alloa fan must see Rice as a failure now.I warned everyone this is the type of manager he was,we've got what we deserved by appointing him.Durnan must be wondering what the hell is going on,if I was him i'd chuck it,he ain't getting anywhere near a starting place anyway.
