  1. Interesting point but, for example, Nazareth has 20 million worldwide album sales, Average White Band with 3 million US album sales, and Simple Minds sold 60 million albums worldwide.
  2. Surprise! "The UK’s flagship trans-Pacific trade deal, which was presented as a cornerstone of post-Brexit “global Britain”, will deliver even less benefit to the economy than the tiny uplift that was previously predicted, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility."
  3. Absolutely. Could never understand the stick he got from some of the crowd. It was patently obvious he was/is a class player.
  4. It's never easy having to face up to the fact that the team you're following is sitting just off the bottom slot of League 2, but that's where we are. McKinnon's plan and signings for the way forward was obviously something the Board were happy to hear but clearly it isn't working. I don't agree with those that say these players aren't trying. I'd be surprised if loanees, watched by their parent club for the move up, are just coasting when their aim is higher level football. Clearly, the physical strength of other teams in L2 is way above our level. To have put in a dire performance and failing to break through Elgin's defence says it all (no disrespect to Elgin). We are, as results, performance and position show, where we deserve to be. Hard to say, but at the moment I can't see very much changing.
  5. Be a laugh teaching the goats in the Virgin advert to learn how to use the Goat Gliders.
  6. Just you! He can get any winning goal as close to the post as he likes.
  7. Nearly - Patter: talk glibly or rapidly, chatter," mid-15c., from Middle English pateren "mumble prayers rapidly" (late 14c.),
  8. I wonder if covid finished off hitchhiking? It seemed to be slowly disappearing before that but for ages I don't think I've seen anyone hitchhiking. Maybe it belongs to a different era and I guess I belong to it as I used to hitch through France during Uni breaks ages ago. Best lift was just outside Paris from a guy who had been at a Bowie concert the night before - open top car, racing down the road, Bowie CDs blasting. Worst part of hitching was not getting a lift. On a tour of the Lake District me and a mate ended up trying to sleep at the side of the road, woke up freezing and being watched by a herd of cows.
  9. In a surprise move, Suella Braverman has admitted her political posturing and ranting has been misguided and as from Friday is joining a Carmelite convent where she will be in charge of the organic garden.
  10. I'd argue she knows exactly what she's doing and saying. She may well be positioning herself as the far right candidate as next PM (aye, let's stop and think about that for a minute) but she spouts this pish knowing full well it'll be reported and hit the mark of those she's pandering to. No doubt she is carving out a future on the talk circuit, though.
  11. Thomas Running, one time station master at Freuchie station, died while sweeping leaves off the track to keep the trains running. Ironically, they were the right kind of leaves and he was clipped by the 21.45 train. He's buried where they found him.
