  1. Feelings as expressed above. One of my all time favourites and for some reason greatly under appreciated by many.
  2. And Stevie Wonder had a Higher Ground, so he could have had decent career as a barista.
  3. There's a definite hint of 3 teams being cut adrift. Tuesday v Motherwell will be fairly vital, even at this stage.
  4. ...where "us" = everyone outwith two Glasgow clubs
  5. Being a bit more academic in those days (and about the same vintage) I added O Grade Statistics to those two. And well done Granny. It's always been a real PTTGOMN for me that people in this country used to refer to having O Levels. No they didn't - not unless they took English exams.
  6. ...or "Laws of Statistics"? That's what the average pedant would opt for. (Or is that mean?)
  7. Final standings clearly laid out so that BBC pundits can sort of understand some of it https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/news/0279-1636d81ecb80-88caab41ba66-1000--nations-league-overall-rankings/
  8. Any mention yet of Frank Haffey? Me, little, sitting in kitchen, David Francie (?) on radio explaining why a life of football supporting misery lay ahead.
  9. Anyone on here had the delights of experiencing childbirth? Having sat in on one I have to say it must top most things in the can't-stop-screaming pain spectrum. I can still hear the scissors urgently chopping through flesh to widen the passage.
  10. The world mourns : Part 327 Watching Athletico v Real on ITV4. Diego Simeone dressed fully in appropriate black. Good man. And this was the only Freeview channel I could find at 8pm which had anything to see. Good programming. (0-2) at 36 minutes.
  11. In footballing terms, I guess that even @Jacksgranda could have out-passed Celtic on the field today.
  12. Caught a bit of todays exciting road trip coverage. Martin Geissler broke through the "Oh look there's people on a bridge" commentary and did point out that not all of the country (Scotland) was keen on a continuation of the monarchy. It was agreed that this was a discussion for another day (aka "Huad yer wheest Geissler"). Also he added knowledge that our southern BBC presenters couldn't match. "Where about are we now Martin?"... "I can tell you from my great knowledge of service stations and toilet stops that we are....". Might see the end of his BBC career.
  13. That's a truely sh1tty situation @Thistle_do_nicely and, like everyone else I wish your fiancee, you and all around well. Welshbairn has nailed it.
  14. Seems that Tynecastle have set the precedent. But you're right - very few grounds in Scotland have an absence of bampots.
  15. A great bit of research, @HibeeJibee. Thanks for that - it's the sort of stuff that makes this thread..
  16. Interesting to see that Robert Maxwell - coincidentally a man renowned for his financial mismanagement - still was able to borrow enough to buy a brick. Haud on. Brain Wilson at Ibrox???
  17. There's a wee disparity in the immediate availability of health care between us and them. A touch of irony in the positioning of these two reports.
  18. And is that a misspelling of Michael? Or is that is parents idea? Even with the lower case M. Edit: I've just noticed that bennett doesn't use a capital letter on his name. Could they be related? Or one and the same?
  19. Norman Harper! A true cultural reference. Mrs B once had a mention in his column. Can you tell us the name of your band (just in case Jeff is reading this and wants you for a reunion gig)?
  20. You live and learn, Sarge, quite often the hard way - particularly if in response to the said Tong ads.
  21. See the PapaJohns Pizza ads wrapping the STV Sports news? In the football one (towards the end) a woman takes a hoof at the ball and an opponent then dances forward on one leg in an attempt to block the shot long after it's gone. I know it's an advert. I know it's not from a real game. But (a) it's not a great advert for the women's game and (b) it quite irrationally grates on my pettyness gland. I now wait for it every time so I can be irked once more.
  22. Walking into ARI was like coming onto the stage for "Stars in Their Eyes". Tonight, Matthew, I'm having a lung removed.
