  1. Because I believe that you have a little more decorum about you than that that Sarge, when holidaying abroad.[emoji6]
  2. Think that’s just called a bonus![emoji6]
  3. Just go with whatever you feel comfortable with Sire, but I think you get the general drift. The whole picture is interesting whether visiting Scone, Westminster, Melrose or Windsor and learning more about the monarchical line of passage and events right across these lands.
  4. As I said, it’s an interesting timeline that chronicles the modern history of this country that we live in (the notion of a direct blood line, not so much). The Tony Robinson documentary looks a worthwhile search though!
  5. Poor turn of phrase perhaps, unsure how else to term it. The line dating from Aethlestan 920’s AD? Line of ascension to the throne maybe?
  6. Some of the footage taken outside the ground, genuine, well behaved fans ‘held up and penned in’ prodded with batons and pepper sprayed in the face is just awful though. An apology is the least they should expect. It appears the Police on duty panicked after so many ticketless ‘fans’ breached the security fences at both ends of the ground. It’s hardly an excuse though to then steam into the fans, patiently queuing outside in good time before kick off just as they were told to do. Imagine spending hundreds of pounds on a ticket, travel and accommodation (feeling so excited that you were lucky enough to be going to the final to see your team), then to be treated like that and miss the game completely, which happened to hundreds of fans. I think I’d still be spitting feathers now!
  7. If you ask for una caña in Spain, you’ll be served a small beer, less than half a pint, that’s still nice and cold when you finish it, perfect! If you do want a pint however, has anyone EVER struggled to get a ‘large beer’ whether in Spain, France or Germany because of our differing measures?! I doubt it. [emoji102]
  8. Can’t see it’s striking red/yellow eye and bill (also with a short yellow tip) in that shot, but it’s definitely an Oystercatcher.[emoji106]
  9. Disappointing performance at Windsor last night from the National side losing 0-1 against Greece. A few players out but increasingly concerned that Ian Baraclough isn’t taking this side anywhere. 5 wins in 23 games, including 8 defeats and two draws from his 10 matches in Nations League competition. Young talent coming through in Conor Bradley, Shea Charles and Paddy Lane, perhaps the only positives. Home and away games with Cyprus and an away trip to Kosovo over the next week or so don’t look very promising at the moment.
  10. Never been a Royalist\Monarchist by any stretch, it’s always felt a little strange that a group of people could be held in such ‘high esteem’ by so many, with an exalted status achieved by nothing more than accident of birth. The fascination with the Royals, through the media and the general public is baffling sometimes, it’s easy to see how visitors to this country also find the whole melodrama just bizarre if not oddly intriguing. That said, I do have an historical interest in a 1100 year old line of succession, and it’s impact on the modern history of these islands. Their influence on the political, social and economic development of this tiny country on the World Map has been immense over that timeline. Their longevity is unique but becoming increasingly outdated for many these days however. So much has changed across the Commonwealth over the last 70 years. The Royal Family’s link to our colonial past doesn’t sit comfortably or have any relevance today. Once the Queen passes on, perhaps it is time for a rethink with regards to the role of the Monarchy and certainly without the funds and support of the public purse. Surely they’ve got enough stashed away now, to pay for the next few generations. With regards to events this weekend, hope all those that wish to celebrate genuinely have a good time. Whether its the Olympics, The Queen’s Jubilee or even the Eurovision Song Contest[emoji846], anything that brings groups of people together (families, friends, neighbours & complete strangers) can only be a good thing. There’s enough shite going on in the world at the moment, if it means a weekend of the pubs being full, people organising street parties or enjoying a picnic in the park together, I’m all for it.
  11. She also owns an unrivalled collection of Swans, Dolphins, Whales and Sturgeons. She doesn’t own Black Swans though, not indigenous to the U.K., they come from Down Under introduced to the U.K. in the late 18th Century. Although still part of the Commonwealth for the time being, she probably doesn’t want to do anything more to piss the Australians off at moment by claiming them as her own. Probably best not given them another reason to remove her as Head of State. It really would be the last straw.
  12. Aye, the main five Forest loan signings have made 185 appearnces (Ave 37) between them this season. They've certainly had their value for money out of them, but the bill is already in the post now if they want to keep them all or find suitable replacements.
  13. They’ll certainly get hustled for inflated fees to keep the loan players who have helped them win promotion. With all that filthy lucre at their disposal, the selling clubs/agents will be all over them like a cheap suit. Welcome to the Barclays Premier League.
  14. Rangers missing out on a place in the UEFA Super Cup Final in Helsinki Vs Real Madrid - Aug 10th?
  15. Lewis O’Brian to now make the move from Huddersfield to Leeds, after The Terriers miss out on promotion to the EPL in the play off final at Wembley?[emoji848]
  16. Congratulations Nottingham Forest, what an incredible turn around this season, (the play off final itself, perhaps one to forget though). Huddersfield should certainly have been awarded at least one penalty, but were very poor otherwise, given what was at stake, they just didn’t turn up.
  17. Recall first hearing ‘Sweet Caroline’ being sang at a Northern Ireland game Vs Poland, in a WCQ at Windsor Park 2004.
  18. Nottinghamshire double this weekend? Mansfield to beat Port Vale & Forest to beat Huddersfield. £25.00 double pays £157.00.[emoji106]
  19. Get well soon[mention=50038]Hoose Rice[/mention] look forward to you posting again soon and when you’re ready. All the best pal.
  20. Not the Scottish Premiership but Keeper Aaron McCarey’s bizarre assault on teammate Bobby Burns in the NIFL - Glentoran Vs Coleraine game back in October. Has to be one of the biggest ‘heads gone’ moments I’ve seen in years, never mind just this season![emoji15] Watch: Glentoran keeper McCarey sees red for lashing out at team-mate Burns https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/58942834
  21. Perhaps it was the sheer size of the bet you put on; creating a panic right across the market and exchanges!!?[emoji15]
  22. And a number of long standing shareholders (against the deal) worriedly taking their money out of the club as soon as it was signed off. The genuine Burnley supporters must be absolutely aghast at what has happened to their club since the ALK Capital takeover less than 18 months ago.
  23. Pleased for Leeds and also that sacking long-serving Dyche hasn’t paid off for Burnley.
  24. Did Kevin Campbell just say (on SS- Super Sunday Match-day) that Kylian Mbappe ‘absolutely deserves’ a salary of £1 Million pounds per week!!?[emoji15]
