  1. Okay, point taken about crowd numbers. However, since Higdons winner in 2009 to escape relegation v ICT, we don’t get the job done. The relegation decider v Killie. 3 play-off “campaigns” have failed when we went in to them with confidence. 2 national Cup Finals when it was there for us on the day. 2018/19 double header v Alloa and Morton would have gone along way to decide our destiny. Raith Rovers game in the Covid season. Two Dunfermline games this season. We won at critical times after Cadette, but after Higdon??
  2. It’s not just exclusive to better teams though. Big games can obviously be getting results against lower teams around you in the table, where we found ourselves in 2017/18 and 2018/19. The first season we got away with it because we arguably had the worst team ever in the second tier playing in it (Brechin). 2018/19 - the BIG games against Alloa and Morton near the end of the season - we blew it.
  3. I think you’re overthinking this. It’s fairly simple to me. We do well against lesser teams (the odd bogey team apart, Clyde, Kelty) and seem to struggle to get results against better teams.
  4. I’d say 10%. Dunfermline firmly, firmly in the box seat but it’s not insurmountable if we take care of our business. I think getting the 4-2-3-1 back is key though in terms of success going forward (most probably in the play-offs).
  5. Dunfermline have only lost one game but they’ve dropped points too. For me the two defeats against Dunfermline have been the costliest.
  6. No I didn’t. I’ll re-direct that to fans who’ve decided it’s all over.
  7. Slim chance is blind optimism? Doesn’t make sense imo. 8 points gap with 9 games to go, when we’ve still to play each other. What if it’s a 6 point gap going in to that game in April? 3 point gap if we won with 5 games to go potentially. Is that blind optimism? Do you want the trophy handed to you just now?
  8. “Facts speak for themselves”? This isn’t a science experiment we’re talking about here, it’s sport! My main message in the posts I’ve put up this morning is it’s not over. At no point have I put a strong case for us pipping you, other than to say if we take care of of our business we have a slim chance of taking it to the last game. As a clear example, we were looking out of sight in 2018/19 to escape relegation and took it to the last game and even won that game (I know, I know, we got relegated on goal difference, but we actually clawed back a lot of points). To emphasise - slim chance, long shot, call it what you want. It’s not over.
  9. I was thinking more about teams higher up the table rather than wearing down part-time teams in the second half.
  10. Firmly disagree with this. That was a very rare win in a game that could be described as a six-pointer.
  11. It would be quite satisfying to do what Dunfermline did last night and play very cagey 1st half, suck the opponent in and then pounce in the second half. Throughout all my time of being a fan, we are usually the ones who try and make the running and then, quite often, get caught out in the end.
  12. I think it’s pretty obvious that those two midfielders have been the foundation for recent success, so not really easy to blame. I like that formation, gives a good balance to the team between attack and defence.
  13. Take the last game out of it (Peterhead away incidentally). All I’m saying is we could still take it to the last day, with a points swing that isn’t that massive. Are Dunfermline really only going to lose one game all season? Possibly. Could they draw a few games? Im just counter-balancing the acceptance from folk on here that are saying it’s over. I’d say it’s a bit premature to throw in the towel.
  14. I wasn’t at the game but the shape looked all wrong with Hendo dropping to the bench (for whatever reason). The back four with McGinn and Hendo winning the midfield scraps has surely been the nucleus for our success and that wasn’t a factor last night. Just as a side note, there’s a lot of acceptance on here that it’s the play-offs. That’s probably going to be the case but there is still 27 points to play for with a home game against Dunfermline to come too. It’s not completely all over if we can go back to what we were doing before with the 4-2-3-1. Who knows, we could take it to the last game and you never know on the day.
  15. Without knowing you obviously, I’m going to guess this mindset wasn’t as strong going into the game last night. We’ve been on a very good run going into a massive six-pointer so confidence and motivation was high, to perform at a decent level and maybe pick up a result anyway.
  16. No shame in having some pride in following a provincial club with a very respectable support tbf. Remind me, what do Airdrie have going for them?
  17. Couldn’t make it so a game update please?(and less stream chat would be great).
  18. The last few months has given me the feel good factor like 2015/16. Hopefully tonight is our marquee result of beating Rangers 3-2 and we can also get the job done this time at the end of the season!
  19. Joint biggest winners with Middlesbrough in the UK today
