  1. And yet here you are….Falkirk page….post after post after post.
  2. Straight on the Falkirk page. Ghoulish Glemavis
  3. Would today not have been a great opportunity to put two up top? I feel this set up, which worked well previously, has gone stale. As someone said, Oliver up top maybe isn’t the answer for a sustained period.
  4. I would argue, in reality, a club like Motherwell or Kilmarnock are twice the size of us. Hardly anything in it between us. Deservedly in pole position this season though.
  5. What’s people’s thoughts on the shape of the team? 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1 seems to work as a foundation in a game but last night showed that there are times that getting two up top or a no. 9 right up top with a no. 10 just behind may be necessary to create more of threat.
  6. I don’t think he did. He spat over the hoarding to antagonise and pulled a face.
  7. Anyone know if there any Walking Down Hope Street podcasts on the horizon? It’s been 3 months since the last one.
  8. Disagree with we were rank in the first half. First 15 minutes yes but improved a lot after that then we were on top for most of the second half.
  9. Thank goodness we’ve got as sizeable squad with depth. We’ll need it. Could Williamson and Watson be key?
  10. @Ranaldo Bairn I know you were damaged after 2015….what’s your thoughts?
  11. I see Andy Nicol is the latest legend to be named in the North Stand initiative. Can someone describe his time at the club please? Also, I started going in 90/91 and he came back for 10 games that season. Anyone know the background to that? Gary Smith would’ve been the first choice right back at that point.
  12. As someone mentioned earlier, the ability just to move out about in the terraces was a good thing. Even during the game. It just felt a bit more real standing watching the football (with the opportunity to sit in the stand as well). Sometimes standing was a bit of a slog (I felt like leaving at times if was it a drab day on a cold or rainy day) but, it also felt a bit more of rewarding experience in a way. A safe standing terrace would be a good thing in theory at TFS.
  13. It’s been too long in the waiting for a 4th stand to have the impact it could’ve had imo. Staring out into the abyss during a humdrum game has scarred me for life!
  14. Would you rather have Brockville or a mini Tynecastle?
  15. I think the Jeffries era gave Brockville a new lease of life for a short period towards the end but then parts of the stadium started to close and then it was really a case of moving out ASAP. The one thing Brockville wins hands down though is being located right in the heart of town!
  16. Personally, if we’d finished the stadium (4 sides) at the start or quickly, I would’ve had closure with Brockville.
  17. What would would be everyone’s ideal number of teams in a league? I’m thinking about outside the top flight. I know it’s a funny number because it is lopsided in terms of number of home and away games, but I miss a 14 team league.
  18. I loved Brockville too, however, I don’t get too misty-eyed about the atmosphere part of it. For every 6000 plus gates we had in the 90s, I remember plenty games where we had 2500 gates at home to Dumbarton or Brechin as well. It was still a decent way to spend a Saturday afternoon but it was hardly a charged, electric atmosphere!
  19. Second paragraph is dross. The title isn’t won yet and we have been very consistent.
  20. That’s a great sample of the last few seasons but as a fan, the period of a decade plus of being let down in these games against stronger opposition/critical games still applies. Squads/managers/even boards move on but we’ve witnessed so many let downs at a crunch point. The background to last nights game was we went into it in very good form, accumulating points, only to be dealt a hammer blow.
  21. Yep, and we can draw a line under this “not getting over the line” habit/hoodoo/insert blank
