  1. I think so too, his vision is superb, he can find a pass, knows where the goals are, just the complete all rounder you want in your midfield hopefully he can show his skills in the Premier League next season
  2. So given another great performance last night, is Pablo the best midfielder we have had since Strachan?
  3. If Leeds do come up they won't be on Sky as many times as they have been this season, unbelievable amount of fixture changing
  4. 14 weeks is an absolute joke, he should have got 2 years minimum, he will be out in less than half of that. Where is the deterrent here, that's just a slap on the wrist and certainly won't stop other idiots running onto the pitch?
  5. Another hard away tie for the Welfare. oh well no pressure there then
  6. Didn't realise our U20's discipline was as bad as that, wonder if there will be a fine or punishment at the end of the season as that must be the worst record in the league?
  7. Interviews at the weekend perhaps, then white smoke over Ferguson Park at the start of next week?
  8. That's true, but as you say would expect the right manager to have contacts to bring in a few players, it seems to happen at other clubs when the manager changes. Hopefully in place for our next LL game or even before that so he can see the lads at training before he has to put a team on the park.
  9. I agree, the right person to coach the team, possibly bring in a couple of players and we can hopefully climb out of the bottom two
  10. Plenty options there, would you want an ex Junior Manager or prefer someone with experience of LL or EoS? Or does it matter if they can bring in some players who will help lift us up the league?
  11. Can’t say it’s a shock they have parted company, the main thing is to bring in the right management team this time to try and turn the season around, tough ask no matter who gets the job.
  12. Any news of any trialists playing tomorrow then?
  13. I imagine it is much harder to get sponsorship into a club like Whitehill nowadays than it was when they were really successful, just need to look around at senior clubs going into administration to show how harsh a world it is running a club.
  14. Sadly you are right magoo, how many can remember all the glory day managers, Mr Lawson apart? I feel for the young lads as being thrown in when things aren't great must be difficult for them, but as you say they will be remembered for the wrong reasons.....
  15. Managers are always scapegoats, no matter how bad their players let them down, but do you think a proven manager would want The Welfare job in our current position?
  16. looking back we have been a mid table team since the LL was formed, leaving it into April before avoiding relegation last season. Other clubs have gone forward in the last two season, Strollers for one, but we seem to have gone backward and the reality is unless we start winning soon we will be bottom of the league at the end of this season.
  17. I agree, there are some who still aim to make it to their local first team, and at EK you have a good squad so potentially it has helped to have that split of players. I hope we can get a squad with the same passion and talent but it will take a while...
  18. Having watched LL and EoS games this season there is a huge difference between the ‘have’s’ and the ‘have not’s’ and by that I mean the devil in our game at all levels - money. The rich clubs mainly attract better players, it’s a sad fact. However my other thoughts are that the desire to play for their hometown club is not there nowadays. In the good old days local lads grew up wanting to play for their local team, I don’t see much of that happening nowadays. I know times have changed, but it could just be one of many factors affecting not just The Welfare but other small town teams as well. Players can be mercenaries at all levels, and that is not a dig at anyone, it’s just a sad fact. How many stay for 3 or more seasons nowadays they move on for one reason or another? As for the rest of the season, we just need to hope the management team can turn things around, but the lack of decent experienced players worries me and may be the thing that stops us. It won’t prevent us turning up to support the team though.
