  1. As someone who watches many lower leagues when his home team is away( refuse to watch the bigot brothers) - Muir is truly out of his depth as a referee - gets so many decisions wrong , all about him. Re Graham’s actions - it humours me that players can get such awful abuse from the stands and due to small numbers of fans can be heard clearly. Players usually ignore but if something vile is said and they respond the authors of the abuse are suddenly victims. Woke gone mad- Brian gone yourself - anyone insults your family( if true - or anything else) - you have every right to react
  2. Phew!- needed that result . Good to widen the gap with Clyde. Credit, where credit due, very good result!
  3. So when do we recognise/ declare that we are in crisis ? Do we have to wait until we are actually bottom on the football pyramid - just asking ?
  4. Feels like we will only make a change when we are actually bottom of the league - which may be too late . This has been grim all season.
  5. Jeez that got a reaction . it’s only about views. lets revisit end of the year? Hope Doolan survives as comes across as good guy- but he won’t.. Thistle - or Ayr in top 4? Graham vs Dowds - love to know who wins, One has more goals but way more time- if Dowds stays at Ayr , gets time , interesting who scores more goals? Only Time will tell…..
  6. Feels like your to views have modified . I am an EF ( so I know bad) , We also support our x players - Dowds one of the best. I commented watching the playoffs last year Doolan was frozen on his thinking - you played the worst Ross County team ever for 65 minutes against 10 men, your were 3 up in return and still lost. Your best 4 players left/ of course money but niave if they didn’t think Doolan no the answer Not his fault but to a blind man he is clueless, he’s no smart ! Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen made the same faults with legends One poster accused me of being Anton- oh if I was 40 years younger . Graham was best in the league but he’s so past it - if feels impossible to subsitute Graham? - feels like he is running the team - Dowds stays at Ayr love to have a bet who scores the most goals. I have no agenda against Doolan will take the flak - remember this post in less than 12 weeks …… EF money on Dowds…..love to see how the season pans out…
  7. Don’t understand that. We Have no money from our shareholders or Directors( nobodies fault) . We have to fund from a break even position from club operations and fan support. So budget must be in same ball park? anyway good win today - phew!!!
  8. Is it just me but watching the game tonight and see Craig Watson playing in the Championship with Airdrie.A few years ago he was playing with us, a good player but not first team pick . How far have we fallen ? Darren Young was able to recruit some class players, Watson, Agnew , Meggat , Davidson , Dowds, Murdoch etc . Look at us now ,on the same budget. We are miles off it- the Board to blame? This forum also reflects the lack of interest in our club. Once active and vibrant now feels dead and dull- like our club?
  9. Think that may be right, but don’t know- feels like he just wasn’t fancied by the manager re style of play he wanted to play. Many talk about the fall out , the way he was or was not treated- but no one has disclosed any detail - so just conjecture by many who in all honesty know no more that the rest of us.
  10. Dowds is a very under rated player - fast - strong- smart- very good on the ground for a big lad. We loved him at EF - came from an unorthodox background - a degree , a successful career in finance and wealthy background. We initially didn’t rate him as a boy from University no picked up before will be dross! Every EF ended up loving him, a lovely guy and terrorised teams including Hearts and Dundee Utd. He went to Falkirk and the guy who signed him got sacked and the new guy didn’t. Rate him. Bizzarely he got loaned out to Arbroath , a league above , wins player of the month and scored a lot of goals under the support of the Campbells- and this forum would suggest loved by the Arbroath fans . Had to go back to Falkirk and think did ok. Signed for Partick scored something like 7/8!goals under the shadow of the best CF in the league in Graham by December . The manager who signed him got sacked and the new guy never played him- clearly never rated him and seeing what his agent has said something went on in the background. So some mangers love him other don’t rate him. Bullen seems to be in the former camp. The thing with Dowds he is smart, intelligent and articulate . Some mangers may be intimidated by that.(?) All I would say to Ayr fans watch his runs- at EF we had Agnew ( a superb player) and he always spotted the run and made the pass. I have no doubt Chalmers and Murphy will be able to spot those runs and the boy will score a hell of a lot of goals - 3 in 3 a good start-if you keep Chalmers wouldn’t be surprised if he scored more goals than Graham , subject to injury. I hope it all works out ok for the boy- we loved him and always hoped he would return but fear he will end up playing for the Campbells again. Anyway watch with interest.
  11. As someone who has taken the pi-s out of you for years- in good spirits I hope! , or maybe fighting the arrogance- really pleased for you . You have a top class manager- a team with fight and purpose- you will get promoted with a first class support- you have suffered enough pain - truly think for the first time you will win the league - the championship league is so much better with a well organised Falkirk- ps can you send help to us poor souls at EF
  12. Steele natural position is CB that’s where he played at EF- will be a good game . McKenna seems bang on form again- few can match his strength …. I fancy Arbroath to do another surge again this year. Lawless goal last week was ridiculous - so will be a close game- 2 teams in form.
  13. Maybe they signed the old boy that is doing the circuit of interviews?
  14. Agreed, Amazed- a really good player. Interesting it’s always the players fault - maybe the manger playing him in wrong role- maybe manager a dipstick?
  15. When he was on loan at Arbroath for 6 months did he not score against you guys twice- but of course post Holt your defence is now so much stronger…- think he might not be able to re rules - shame for all concerned.
  16. Graham arguably best forward in the league so understand why he didn’t get much game time.Dowds had a terrific goal per minute ratio ( think he scored 7 goals as sub up to Dec). New manager comes in and clearly doesn’t fancy him. if Ayr get out of him what Campbell did at Arbroath - think he got Championship player of the month whilst there- Ayr will have made a smart signing. Really good lad from EF days and wish him well.
  17. Pleased to hear that. Was always a good player but just seemed to lose confidence . Have to say your management team have a history of getting the best out of players who for what ever reason have gone off the boil. Sounds like you guys have got your mojo back…..
  18. Wasn’t there- so can’t comment on the game - but think it’s time to be really , worried!
  19. St Mirren lost 1.5 m last year , Motherwell circa 1m loss- not sure that is sustainable -do hope so…..
  20. You seem to have got your act together. You have a good manager who improved the team last year and seems to have improved again this year . You might have a shout of getting promoted this year .
  21. Honestly - confused. Supporting EF for 38 years and never been so down- we are awful…. !! only go to home games now- actually have no hope My only uplift( really not) bigger clubs than us are in the same trouble -to quote my partner. Of 30 years-“ Why do you go and see EF and come home more depressed than happy” My answer- darling EF- my youth, my upbringing - my life.- my family “ EF get a fckn grip
  22. Truly don’t have digs at Doolan- a really good guy just out of his depth- will fail and lets revisit this post in 3 months. For me- whether -EF( my club- the perfect example of failure) or others ,amazed at the stupidity of those involved in running football clubs . To appoint Doolan ( fans favourite)- fan ownership -imo- is doomed / no money and fan elected idiots involved in running the club of course everyone relates to Hearts- 3rd biggest club in Scotland. But only survives because of James Anderson’s donations to the club( biggest donator / investor in history of Scotland)- Thistle- you will destroy a legend that is so out of his depth a blind man can see… Anyway - no agenda- EF fan- so expert is witnessing idiots- but only opinion-.
