  1. He is too good a player to be playing P/T at the moment- whilst lovely thought would be surprised if he didn’t end up back at hearts or a championship team in England.......
  2. Said it before - we need a big dominating centre half....or does the management team have a fear of appointing an individual taller than them?[emoji28]Seriously tremendous business by all at EF!
  3. Haven got Turner- if you get Nesbit you guys have done your homework and done really, really well .... mind you there are one or two other better gems in our league but were no telling[emoji57]
  4. Remember it like it was yesterday- that was some Dundee Utd team by the way!
  5. Need to see a big improvement in Higgins- he was a bomb scare last year., other our last game he made a dreadful mistake a game-still need a big Centre Half- we are midgets at the back- but well done the club for being so organised. Murdoch will be excellent in midfield if he can stay fit....
  6. Big money - yes But look at us- we have resigned at lot of players from last year who did us proud. Yes we collapsed in the last quarter but truly believe a combination of injury and poor loan signings. Time will tell- we have made some great signings from league 1( but that can be a merry go round)- we have signed a boy from the same league as Tonks- losing out on Nathan was a blow- but if you had a choice between Nathan and Tonks- who would you choose?
  7. Just shows you the game is about opinions- on last years performances not a loss- maybe played in the wrong position- certainly never a LB! Wish him well....
  8. Agreed Whilst would of loved to see Fash back and 2 years at least playing in lower league is some commitment- if he is earning a lot more and gets a good job as well I wish him well- he didn’t really make it at ICT so a F/T career seems now passed for him and don’t blame him for going for better money. Kelty are clearly going for it with financial backing. This is nothing new in football- sometimes it works, often it does not( eg us!). Enjoy the dream and who knows how long the dream will last.
  9. Actually so do I. My top 3 requests would be a big CH, a RB and a creative Midfielder! If greedy another CF-as looks like Austin not coming - a big shame- but hey really happy with recruits so far( and would be a tough choice between Austin and Tonks- the latter will get better ).... more optimistic this summer than last summer.....
  10. Not sure it would be a big loss- still haunted by that penalty!
  11. Tbf- he was in the team for our great run of 8 games and then was castigated to the bin after injury!- he would of stayed if he felt had a chance at least of playing..... more shocked if Austin goes- he is so much better than Kelty with all respect- at least 2 years playing at a level well below his quality-guess money talks....
  12. Would be nice to get a good CH that is over 6ft tall!
  13. If fit- would be good-we have needed a passer of the ball in midfield all year!
  14. Any guesses with 25 minutes to go. If its not cutlery or training kit is it a signing?[emoji120]
  15. Just at the airport at an unearthly hour returning to the Uk so missed all the big games last night and the incredible performances.! I am sure that the players- managers- are hurting like us fans when we see Raith vs Forfar, Montrose vs QOS!- and the results last night-at our best we beat all those teams this year!(This should fill us with confidence rather than negativity!) Now before I get any rage - those 4 teams deserve to be where they are - and we certainly don’t!. I just have a” sneaky” feeling that the qualification rounds that hugely favour the team in the higher league - that we may have another Alloa situation here and a team from the lower league gets promoted- doesn’t happen often.( again makes it all so frustrating!) But hey need to move on- but we can do it you know if we recruit well in the summer - get more scouts out to the East of Scotland leagues please....young boys with enthusiasm and passion and lots of energy and skill ( so pleased we have signed the Stirling lad, but have no idea if any good!)rather than players who seem to bounce from club to club in the lower leagues and when they meet on a Saturday it looks like a reunion- a love in...( now not suggesting any lack of professionalism- but time to forget those guys who have more clubs than I have in my golf bag !- they are not moving between clubs because they have been successful!- they are also not moving us forward - lets go with those who can potentially move us forward- hopefully with us! - with of course some quality experience like big Kev!) Just saying.... Ps I think Forfar might do it?
  16. I hear from my pals that 15 gave you even more problems in the second half and your goalie did wonders. But hey well done Forfar- I remember when we played you at the beginning of the season away and we were 3 up in no time- the abuse the fans gave the team then!! All credit to the management team and players, your performances since then have been fantastic . You could get promoted and we would all be delighted for you..... how did you guys turn it around?- if in different league please let Darren know. Well done again.
  17. Ignore the anger, the bile! Never responded- if you and others don’t respond the oxygen of hatred evaporates....
  18. Good summary and I think generally in line with what many of the fans think. The only thing I would add it is clear than we have a thin squad and when we get injuries it affects us badly. I wasn’t at the game yesterday but really thought we would win! 1 win in 16 is both frightening and horrible. We have to start well next year. Would love to hear what the managers reflections and learnings over this period have been.
  19. Thread a wee bit quiet from us EF fans- so just landed in Dubai so have a few thoughts. First of all well done Forfar. Hope you get second. Your qualification to the playoffs is well deserved! We EF fans are still in shock re our teams collapse in the last quarter so we are hurting and quiet- but hey we all recognise how well Forfar have done and are just envious that we could not do the same. Enjoy your next few weeks- its well deserved- wish you well- but think we will beat you on Saturday- we have done it twice before this year! You can get promoted!- go for it!
  20. Jeez brutal stuff. We are a league 1 side and need to bear that in mind when looking at players( don’t feel we have the budget to be a championship team)- and we should remember that we may end up the highest league position we have been for many a year. Some of the players mentioned here have been given 2 year contracts by the manager- so best left to him who we keep and let go! For me I hope we take time out and learn what has happened in the last part of the season re our spectacular collapse! I cant help thinking loan signings haven’t helped our cause from January. Other than Currie- they have not been a great success. For me loan signings , particularly January ones, have an inherent conflict. The players who get loaned out clearly aren’t getting a game and the parent club expects them to play at the club they are being loaned to. Reasonable from their point of view but for us- not sure loan players should be guaranteed a start?- must be based on merit. Higgins signing resulted in Meggatt getting moved position. Murdoch got injured but clearly was going to play if fit and Watson been getting game time that i think he is lucky to get based on his performances. So hopefully we add to the good nucleus we have. I fear that we may lose Meggatt who has been our best defender by far and Big Watson also a worry. We have had some great successes though that we must not forget and if these players can improve and be added with some similar quality of signings I am optimistic. Long is the best keeper we have had in years- if he improves on his decision making about when to come out for balls with his quality of shot stopping can be the best keeper in the league. Dunsmuir outstanding as a wing back. Needs to improve his defending and keep concentration is another one that can progress further. Agnew was outstanding before his injury- needs to get his shoulder sorted over the summer. Tonks find of the season and hopefully the Stirling lad is as good. 13 goals so far- has tailed off in past few weeks. Looks tired and maybe enjoying our local produce too much( the pies!) . Hopefully can get a rest and get some midfield guile to pick up his runs that he makes so often no avail. So in summary i am optimistic for next year re our nucleus of signings but hope the manager gets to the bottom of our drop in form and that its down to a thin squad that can be improved over the summer with very few loan signings in January..... but hey just a theory and no idea really....
  21. First of all congratulations to Montrose- they deserve to be in the playoffs- our performances of late don’t merit us being in the play offs. Another really poor performance today - Stenhousemuir hit the woodwork twice- but to be honest its the way we are playing that really gets to me- again little balls on the deck- aimless highballs up to the front where forwards have to fight for every ball when it’s 60/40 in favour of the defenders. Anyway enough of this negative stuff- we have a good nucleus of player for next year. We need to find A Centreback- two midfielders, one a strong player and someone who can pass the ball and maybe we found that player that we just signed from Stirling - ( in my view midfield has been our weakest part of our team of late) and we need a couple of forwards- i make that 5 players ( or 4 if we include the stirling lad)which might be too much I know- but we can send back the loan players who really haven’t added much to the team( except Currie).
  22. Agreed- really think thats harsh. We don’t have a huge squad. Injuries to Watson, Agnew and Currie have really hurt us. When we have our best team out we have played well- when not we struggle- and one or two players of late have look tired eg big tonks( this time last year he was playing university football- this year has scored 13 goals and been our only fit forward of late-and played really well overall this year)... I think we are in a much better position now than we were this time last year with the players we have signed up- just need a few more.... Lets get a win!
