Did anyone else notice McAllister having a couple of late digs on Middleton in the first half when the ball went out for a goal kick?  It was almost as if he was trying to lay a marker on the winger and intimidate him a bit.  Not long after that Middleton seemed to have a word with the ref (when they had a corner).

I didn't see the red card incident but I'm guessing McAllister has not been entirely innocent.

Thought we were really good value for a point until the sending off and even after it we still gave a decent account.

Have to say the highlights show McAllister a clear and obvious elbow off the ball- what a thug- what an idiot- sure his wages will get docked letting the team down like that…

Murphy and chalmers are our main creative players. McGeady too but he just creates a wage that someone else could be getting.

Get it- jungle drums   in Fife says he is signing for Airdrie-( apart from The goals)  their football and midfield players  suit his style of play ….  But struggle to think why you would not play for Brown in the Championship- unless of course Browns ultimately doesn’t rate him.

He gets stuck in and gets involved in things which is different to a lot of the players we have that just seem to get bullied. He will maybe get in to one good position a game and have maybe five half chances, sometimes less. He can be really quiet in games. That maybe has to do with support or service but he's not likely to get 15-20 goals a season unless we play Airdrie 10 times.

I want to keep him and have another credible option to play when he doesn't work out.

Get it. But if not 15-20 goals a season then not good enough for you clearly.

in terms of midfield we had creative players like Agnew ( on his day would walk into any championship team)- who are the creative players at Ayr?

Please bench Broadfoot. Dowds always struggles against experienced centre halfs.

Just seen the result . Did Dowds blow it against Broadfoot who scored? But see he also scored. - now 11 goals , 6 assists in that Ayr team / is that good or hopeless  considering your team?

i say that as we loved him  at EF. Came from an unorthodox background - degree- University- career in finance - a wealthy family  - always felt very intelligent on the field of play  and Agnew always picked him out.

He was part of an EF team that beat Hearts- Dundee Utd. Went to Falkirk many fans seemed to hate him others admired / then ended up at Arbroath  who seemed to like him in their big season.

Went to Partick - started well but if you read  “some team in Glasgow “he lives rent free his head- he clearly hates him- difficult to replace Graham as best in the league.

Ayr seem to have a mixed view also- wonder if Brown signs him. EF is his natural home and hope now that Campbell  who helped him big time at Arbroath is here / he joins us …. Truly hope so-

Brown and Whittaker have probably played at a higher level than any other manager in your league. Brown in particular was recognised as a very good captain and leader- always thought he was smart.

Reading the thread Ayr seem to have a bare bones of a squad- the conditions apparently are poor and you have lost every game this year to Morton. Maybe Brown has thought been bullied in the past , youngsters will be even more bullied- this is a night for a battle and has put a team to do that?Morton do like a battle..

no idea- if he wins he will be a genius- if he loses an a-se- fitba eh…

    On reflection- right or a-rse?

Hopefully it’s Bryden in the 10 role and Chalmers and Amartey out wide

Some run under Dick , what might've been if it happened earlier, still a chance of playoff  though so who knows 👏🏼👏🏼

Agreed.- probably too late to have a realistic chance of the play- offs.

But will take not looking down for looking upwards this season- was genuinely worried earlier in the season.

What has been done in a few short weeks is remarkable - can’t wait for next season …..

Club website has wee Stevie out till early 2025 due to ruptured achilles. Devasting for him (hope his op goes well this week and he gets back fit sooner than later)and the Club at this stage in the season. As has been said no like for like replacement so playoffs(if we make them ) pretty much now out of grasp unless Dools and Co have a cunning plan.

Thats terrible news- a class player.A cruel game at times…..

We've had some pretty terrible managers down the years, but no, I don't hold any residual bitterness towards our ex managers.  I'm even weirdly pleased to see the Campbells doing well at East Fife.  I wish all our ex managers well, even the awful ones.

    Totally correct.

What the Campbells did  for Arbroath from the near bottom of league 2 to the near promotion to Premiership was unbelievable !- Fact.
Watching the Friday night games I had huge respect and truthfully,  a large part of Envy that Arbroath can do that , why not EF?

Campbell brothers are now working their magic at EF- honestly bearing  in mind the past few years of total agony, loneliness , and hopelessness, its total , total magic.
Should they do for us - 1/2 of what they did for you we are singing from the Methil  rafters!

Wish Arbroath well- can’t wait to be a moaning EF fan after many years in Chapionship complaining about being relegated - bring it on…🙏🙏🙏

Be careful what you wish for ……

Do they have a limit ? No idea

Based on this season, I guess you could argue that.

I would still have Hamilton as a more effective player than Dowds at this level though. He hasn’t quite provided what everyone thought he would for Raith, very in and out.

I truly hope as a much loved X - EF player he doesn’t go to the Lino lickers!!!! - but to compare his goals stat with your  really poor midfield vs the goal stat of Hamilton with a much higher quality midfield  and team doesn’t make any logical sense- Hamilton should be miles ahead , trust me it pains me to say that….

We are not alone in being secretive when it comes to discussing injuries. Fans of various clubs in this league have said the same about this issue and it's only something i've noticed in recent years. Perhaps the bigger financial crisis means clubs don't have the quality of depth of squad as before. When you look at some of the shite we signed on extended deals it may be this was just a way of balancing the books. Knowing certain players are missing might help the opposition more as the back up options are limited

Have to say  as a neutral , I didn’t know you 8 first team players missing -that is really bad luck and must contribute  to your inconsistency .

I think you were a bit lucky yesterday and until you scored the 7th I thought we had a chance of getting a point out of it…

Fair play, league wrapped up nice and early and you can enjoy the last 5 games. I had the added bonus yesterday of being stuck on a train with the away fans as well as being out last night, I can safely say that from my experience, your whole fanbase was an absolute credit to your club.

So at 6-1 you thought you had a chance of a draw? Wonderful optimism 👏

What McGlynn has achieved is remarkable considering what he inherited.

This season he has had the 3rd biggest budget, the second best squad and secured first place

McGlynn is very impressive. Even us EF fans secretly admired how he twice rebuilt our neighbours along the road.

Football is very simple but hard to achieve- get the right manager  and you will be successful

Anyway very well done  FFC. You will be a welcome addition to the Championship -👏👏👏

Also what's horrendous and gutting to see is....these players don't give a f**k as majority are on loan...

Not a single one of these players would get in our team that won league one .

Great amazing strides off the field...

On field absolute disaster....Get this player recruitment system in the fucking bin

Harsh to say Dowds ( who is on loan) does not care  a f-ck!

The wind ruined the match but  a good 3 points for The Fifers'  leaving us just 6 points behind  Spartans whom we still have  to play at home. 7 games unbeaten under the new management  team with  4 wins and 3  draws, well done to all involved !

Stranraer  won the toss and  correctly played  with the  wind. They took the lead with  a Grant  free kick from wide position that  crept in at  the far post. Apart  from that Stranraer didn't really threaten  while  we found it difficult to get make clear cut chances despite having the majority of the ball.

Full credit to the young lads in the 2nd half, James Lyon took his  goal well and  was great to  see Jack score his first of the season. Falling  behind seemed to alert Stranraer to the danger they are in  and they showed  a bit more urgency without bothering Fleming.

Top marks to  Blaney, Easton and  Trouten who i thought were the  pick  of the bunch.   We  missed Fash today  but the  players proved we aren't a 1 man team.

Onto next  week at home v Elgin City.

We would not have won that game earlier in the season. So pleasing to see the Campbells getting the boys inside at HT and changing things ….👏👏👏

Nice sunny day in the Kingdom if a  little breezy.

Can East  Fife continue their unbeaten  run under the Campbells' ? Hopeful for a home  win but the  blues will be fighting for everything. We have to be on our game from the start this week.

East Fife will  continue with 4-2-3-1. I would pick :

                                                                     -Fleming-

                                               -Murdoch- Blaney-Easton-Newton-

                                                           -Millar-        -McManus-

                                                -Shepherd-     -Trouten-     -Healy-

                                                                      -Austin-

A lot of excitement on this thread…… will be all very different next season…🤞

I don't think we were ambitious enough after the Campbells left. Did we ask Scott Brown (who went to Ayr) or anyone of similar stature.? His contacts or someone in the same bracket would have far more contacts at the top that JMac. Loanees from Celtic or other top clubs instead of Irish lower level or players from lower level clubs could have given us the quality to turn around the unbalanced squad left when the Campbells left imo.

Really , really hard to get a manager that wants to try FT to come to a PT team, that frankly have been “ punching weigh above their weight” for years.

    You guys had a vintage period;

    Unusual  to have such a successful management team as Campbells for a few years ;

Unusual to have such a high quality of PT players of O’Brien, Little, McKenna, Galston and Linn etc at the same time.

A vintage period as I said and rarely repeated.

Couldashouldawoulda won it at the end with two good chances for Trouten and Schiavoni at the end but probably happy to take the point after an abject first half!!!

Need to win our next two and see how Dumbarton and Spartans get on or the seasons probably finished!!!

    Take a draw up there……
