  1. As an outsider- Brown and Whittaker seemed to have done incredibly well for a faltering team and number of injuries. Brown looks like the real deal!
  2. Its in the stars - That Dowds who was well liked at Arbroath - does damage for Ayr tomorrow…..
  3. Get it- jungle drums in Fife says he is signing for Airdrie-( apart from The goals) their football and midfield players suit his style of play …. But struggle to think why you would not play for Brown in the Championship- unless of course Browns ultimately doesn’t rate him.
  4. Get it. But if not 15-20 goals a season then not good enough for you clearly. in terms of midfield we had creative players like Agnew ( on his day would walk into any championship team)- who are the creative players at Ayr?
  5. Just seen the result . Did Dowds blow it against Broadfoot who scored? But see he also scored. - now 11 goals , 6 assists in that Ayr team / is that good or hopeless considering your team? i say that as we loved him at EF. Came from an unorthodox background - degree- University- career in finance - a wealthy family - always felt very intelligent on the field of play and Agnew always picked him out. He was part of an EF team that beat Hearts- Dundee Utd. Went to Falkirk many fans seemed to hate him others admired / then ended up at Arbroath who seemed to like him in their big season. Went to Partick - started well but if you read “some team in Glasgow “he lives rent free his head- he clearly hates him- difficult to replace Graham as best in the league. Ayr seem to have a mixed view also- wonder if Brown signs him. EF is his natural home and hope now that Campbell who helped him big time at Arbroath is here / he joins us …. Truly hope so-
  6. Brown and Whittaker have probably played at a higher level than any other manager in your league. Brown in particular was recognised as a very good captain and leader- always thought he was smart. Reading the thread Ayr seem to have a bare bones of a squad- the conditions apparently are poor and you have lost every game this year to Morton. Maybe Brown has thought been bullied in the past , youngsters will be even more bullied- this is a night for a battle and has put a team to do that?Morton do like a battle.. no idea- if he wins he will be a genius- if he loses an a-se- fitba eh…
  7. Agreed.- probably too late to have a realistic chance of the play- offs. But will take not looking down for looking upwards this season- was genuinely worried earlier in the season. What has been done in a few short weeks is remarkable - can’t wait for next season …..
  8. Thats terrible news- a class player.A cruel game at times…..
  9. That is really embarrassing- should have kept his energy for his team on the park!- these are dangerous times-re our new hate crime legislation-he is lucky the Police will be too busy with the ugly sisters game yesterday -
  10. Honestly , never seen him live , only see him on the Telly. Can he actually pass a ball more than 10 yards? like Forrest Gump he can run…. But from telly(?) never passes the ball.
  11. Totally correct. What the Campbells did for Arbroath from the near bottom of league 2 to the near promotion to Premiership was unbelievable !- Fact. Watching the Friday night games I had huge respect and truthfully, a large part of Envy that Arbroath can do that , why not EF? Campbell brothers are now working their magic at EF- honestly bearing in mind the past few years of total agony, loneliness , and hopelessness, its total , total magic. Should they do for us - 1/2 of what they did for you we are singing from the Methil rafters! Wish Arbroath well- can’t wait to be a moaning EF fan after many years in Chapionship complaining about being relegated - bring it on… Be careful what you wish for …… Do they have a limit ? No idea
  12. I truly hope as a much loved X - EF player he doesn’t go to the Lino lickers!!!! - but to compare his goals stat with your really poor midfield vs the goal stat of Hamilton with a much higher quality midfield and team doesn’t make any logical sense- Hamilton should be miles ahead , trust me it pains me to say that….
  13. Have to say as a neutral , I didn’t know you 8 first team players missing -that is really bad luck and must contribute to your inconsistency .
  14. So at 6-1 you thought you had a chance of a draw? Wonderful optimism
  15. McGlynn is very impressive. Even us EF fans secretly admired how he twice rebuilt our neighbours along the road. Football is very simple but hard to achieve- get the right manager and you will be successful Anyway very well done FFC. You will be a welcome addition to the Championship -
  16. Totally agree- the ref is 3 yds away- clearly he does not have a clue….
  17. We would not have won that game earlier in the season. So pleasing to see the Campbells getting the boys inside at HT and changing things ….
  18. A lot of excitement on this thread…… will be all very different next season…
  19. Really , really hard to get a manager that wants to try FT to come to a PT team, that frankly have been “ punching weigh above their weight” for years. You guys had a vintage period; Unusual to have such a successful management team as Campbells for a few years ; Unusual to have such a high quality of PT players of O’Brien, Little, McKenna, Galston and Linn etc at the same time. A vintage period as I said and rarely repeated.
  20. Agreed- Brown has had only one window with no money ( like us all in lower leagues)-From reading this thread Bullen left you with a poor squad- but Brown gets your team to win away which is really hard to get .IMO Murphy by far the best player imo in your team but he is old and needs protection and maybe your manager thought it was a battle first and foremost- Dowds a far better team player in every sense than Chalmers - the latter has undoubted skill but needs to work harder….. love to see the thread when you lose…..
