  1. Ignore this little dick, he’ll go away eventually. A total pollution…
  2. I honestly don’t want to start a rumour mill with tons of speculation but does anyone have any ideas on players being released and anything on Murray. I guess it’s just a waiting game but like everyone, desperate for information. Figured there might have been a couple of announcements by now but quiet out there
  3. This feels like a million years ago. After the Motherwell win we were all hyped up, ready to kill it all season, QOTS would be cannon fodder the week after this.. and then…. Ally Roy decided to run a brief masterclass. That name, along with all the others you mention make me laugh. Also makes me think about how our team could look this time next year compared to a side that takes the field July/August. That’s football!!
  4. Why does he insist on signing off every post with a kiss? Weird little troll
  5. I’m not too sure… but I’ll have the same attitude to the cups as last season - not really caring and happy to go out to one of the OF in a money spinning tie. Care much more for the league. An early season draw against them in Glasgow could give us more than enough finances to be comfortable for the season. A guaranteed exit (pretty much) which suits me. Probably wont happen.. July it is then, lets see what our team looks like come mid summer
  6. Still in the ‘doom and gloom’ phase after yesterday but moving towards the light. Hoping the board are busy at work and trying to get the basis of a team/back room stuff secured for next season. Undoubtedly changes coming but I’m hoping the 9 or 10 faces that can be the backbone of the team and coaching staff will be staying. Nervy week coming up. Not sure how much I’m looking forward to August - see what happens over the next few days.
  7. Absolutely gutted after todays result, the only thing we can do now is wait to see how things will unfold with Murray and Co. Have said previously, fully expecting a new challenge for Murray now we have failed to make the Championship and if this season has shown anything… regardless of how good your team actually is there is NOTHING guaranteed in this league. Think Murray is Falkirk bound or off to the Championship, and expect 3/4 of the team to be off too. Our board has to spring into action as all this happens - an early appointment may give us a decent chance of achieving something next year. another thing this season showed… even if you finish 4th in the league, your in with a shout. Even if that’s 20-25 points off the pace. But personally, I don’t want to hear the words ‘play offs’ for months. Sick and tired of failing at this hurdle
  8. Just keep the ball on the deck, play football and TAKE OUR CHANCES! Shittin masel here…. Can almost taste Championsip football…. It’s like a heroin hit to a Morton fan, need it bad
  9. Did I miss something? Heard RR were after Kelty Hearts manager Thomson. He’d be an idiot not to take the position and be pushing for a promotion play off place next season which I expect Rovers to do (most likely). After hearing Murray on the Airdrie piece during the Inverness arbroath game, having the chance to keep this team together and if the board back him - I don’t expect any movement during the summer. Who knows, it’s football. But for us that ‘consistency’ and having the manager continuing to build a team is important. But first we need to win these playoffs
  10. Interesting on a couple of different levels. And I know it’s just a rumour. But if true, it signals Murray’s intent to stay even if we don’t get promoted? (For the record, I believe we’ll get promoted). So delighted with this news, and all that it could mean for the club
  11. Priceless. A picture is worth a thousand words. Most of them expletives in this case
  12. My fellow Diamonds ….. is Craig Watson likely to start on Thursday? Need to make a couple of changes I think. Any thoughts on our lineup?
  13. I get that. That’s was the fucking point I was trying to make A+ for observation
  14. Honestly…. This is the type of dross we’ll be reading all week. If I was a Par, I’d just be focused on getting back to the Championship. And if this moron had any brains, he’d know we’d most likely be a bigger roadblock to them than QP in league 1. He probably wants us to get promoted and out of Dunfermlines way. Here’s the facts - Airdrie are a better side than QP. If we show up with the same grit and determination that we had in the second half yesterday then there will only be one winner. Yes, the team with the biggest desire will most likely win. QP have enough quality to frustrate and beat teams. Just ask AlwaysAPar. But I truly believe over 180 minutes we will have enough to do this. And the scare against Montrose will give us an extra push for Thursday night. It’s time to get the promotion we deserve. C’mon Airdrie
  15. Will surely be a good game, not surprised that some neutrals will be going and some of the local Aberdeen/Dundee contingent showing up for Mo will help give them a boost. But expecting a healthy crowd of Diamonds to make the journey. Montrose will really want the win, the away leg being a daunting prospect from behind. A draw may suit us but I’m thinking Murray will want to half close the door on the tie with an away win. Little in the way of injury woes for us, we should be just about full strength. Team are buzzing, fans are buzzing and hoping this is our year. C’mon the Diamonds
  16. Still maintain what I said a few days ago on P&B regarding this…. if we don’t get promoted, Murray will be off. If it’s to Falkirk, he’ll take a good chunk of our squad with him. If we get promoted, he’ll stay. No way he’ll head back down a league to Falkirk for a bit more money. He needs to prove himself at a higher level. only way he stays with us in L1 next year is if the board can get the cash to keep Murray and a vast majority of this squad together for next season. Minimal changes would be needed, hit the ground running in August. personally, I think we’ll be a Championship team next season… with Murray leading the charge
  17. Airdrie 2-2 Peterhead Alloa 2-2 Montrose Dumbarton 2-0 Clyde East Fife 1-2 Cove Queen’s Park 2-1 Falkirk First goal - 19 minutes
  18. If we go up, I’d be shocked if Murray left. He’d be working with a settled squad, a majority of whom will stay, and he’d surely have some sort of decent budget to work with. I’m sure he’d be receiving a larger wage. Why bother going to a different Championship club if he thinks an Airdrie team could be knocking on the Premiership door within a couple of seasons? (Maybe) It’s all down to how ambitious our BOD are… BUT if we stay down then he’ll look to secure his immediate future and Falkirk may be the answer. But in doing that, he’ll want to take some key players with him. This means breaking up our team. Or do the BOD shell out what’s needed, secure Murray and keep the team together so we can do a CR next season??? Hibs?? No chance…. Not yet. 3 or 4 years? Maybe… probably. But not now. Like most of us, I’m really hopeful for the playoffs but they can be cruel. I’ve seen too much heartache over the years. We need Championship football! Another way for Murray to look at leaving the club… McCann and McInroy… our star defender from last season SURELY regretting his move to Falkirk and could have been in the shop window at Airdrie and part of team pushing for promotion. Now facing 2 more seasons at a shit show. McInroy…. I said at the time it was a case of ‘if it’s not broken, don’t fix it’. I know he needs to look after number 1 but now part of an outfit possibly heading to L1. He’s one of the highlights at the club I’m told, but maybe he’ll be back with us if we get promotion. That would be hilarious
  19. Clyde 1-2 Airdrie Cove 3-0 Dumbarton Falkirk 2-1 Alloa Montrose 1-1 Queen's Park Peterhead 3-1 East Fife
  20. Airdrieonians 3-2 Dumbarton Clyde 1 -4 Montrose Cove 5 - 1 Alloa Athletic East Fife 2 - 2 Falkirk Peterhead 1 - 1 Queen's Park
  21. Without seeming a bit paranoid, THIS is what worries me most about missing out on promotion. Yes, bigger teams have noticed Murray’s success and surely there will be at least 3 management changes in the Championship over the close season. And obviously Falkirk are out looking… so, let’s state the obvious. If we get promoted, there’s a 99% chance Murray is the manager next season. And there’s a 95% chance he’ll retain all the best players for that campaign(I hope). But if we don’t go up then I’m sure Murray will still see Championship football or, even worse, he goes to Falkirk, takes all the best players with him (and he would) and keeps Airdrie down, again. Too doom and gloom, right? But face it, it’s reality for us in the close season for us if we miss out. BUT, if the BOD could bankroll the team and give Murray the support he needs then MAYBE he would stay. Keep the well oiled machine in place for one final crack at the L1 title. Who knows. Praying for a playoff win. For those old enough to remember liquidation, feel like we could have avoided such a fate it had been us who won the league that year. We came close….. not talking about us going out of business but these events can drastically change a smaller teams immediate future. I’m ready for Championship football….
  22. Is anyone else concerned that we enter a kind of ‘cold war’ period for a few weeks while we wait for playoffs? A chance that the players lose an edge. I guess almost the same could be said for Montrose who are in the playoffs but are looking over their shoulders, a wee bit, at QP. A new challenge for Murray to keep the guys ready for early May. I guess other than avoid defeat, there’s not much for him to do. Will we see some reserves getting first team appearances? Who needs resting up? And will Easton be practicing penalties just in case?? I don’t think my heart could take it
