  1. Yes I remember the glory days very well, I also remember the years in the doldrums even more vividly. What I don't remember is the league being extended to help us out when we were playing 3 times a week due to our success, or when we dropped down the leagues and had match cancellations home and away due to unplayable pitches and had fixture conjestion at the tail end of the season. At a previous League meeting, they said no extention to season, now they are saying it is to be extended, why? I have no issue with teams playing in an unaffiliated tournament, but in my opinion that shouldn't take president over league games, and if your lucky enough to go far in these competitions they should conclude after affiliated league fixtures and tournaments. The issues with infrastructure and parks being playable also causes issues at the tail end of the season, but that's part and parcel of the game. If your pitch isn't fit for purpose, play on a park that is, play your games elsewhere or suffer the fixture congestion with 3 games a week at the seasons end. What was the decission making process and where is the integrity in this decision to extend the season? It's a legitimate question.
  2. Is it true the League season is to be extended by 10 days? If that's the case, where is the sporting integrity in that decision. Teams who choose to throw money at players rather than the infrastructure of their parks, or take part in unaffiliated competions should live with the consequences of their decisions. Piss poor if true, and harks back to the "make it up as you go along Juniors".
  3. Cracking entertainment, 7 goals, a penalty, a rescinded red card (was there VAR at play in the game) some shocking challenges, some fine goals from both sides and ultimately a hard earned Buffs win. Ref had a difficult game, I'm no saying he was old, but pretty sure he had a sun dial strapped to his wrist. Well done to the vast majority of the St Rochs fans who respected the minutes silence, and made for a great atmosphere, as for the very few that didn't, give yer heads shake, there's no need for that nonsense.
  4. Not surprised with Colin Boyd pulling the strings of WOSFL board. Buffs can do as they please. Total nonsense. The Buffs had no case to answer. We checked the SFA website prior to playing the match against Irvine Meadow, all 15 Players came back with no suspensions listed. An individual Check for the player also came back with no suspensions listed. Lastly, an email was sent direct to the SFA asking for them to check the full squad with again no suspensions listed, all of this is fully documented with screen shots etc. We went above and beyond what is required to check our Players status before the match against Meadow, as we do for every game, so any claims of "incompetence", "cheating" or "pulling strings" are totally without foundation. We played a very competative game against our closest rivals, and I would add friends at Medda and won. They will not be happy with the outcome, but as I said previously on this topic, neither would we had we lost the points for an admin error outwith our control. For full clarity, the player was listed on the SFA site as suspended, but not in the area it should have been, or where the governing bodies rules ask for it to be checked, this only became apparent on the Saturday night after the game. Ultimately someone or possibly an IT glitch caused a mistake, but as the old adage goes: The Man(or Woman) who never made a mistake never made Eff all.
  5. Good first half and should have had a couple more at the break, didn't turn up for the second half. Thankfully we still have the 3 points from the medda game
  6. I'm not at liberty to say at the moment, that would be for the WoSL Disciplinary Board to review and make judgement on. No doubt it will come out in the wash there after.
  7. Cheating would indicate that the Buffs were aware of a suspension and ignored it to gain an advantage, I can categorically say that was not the case. We had a strong bench on Saturday. Club will most likely put out a statement after outcome is known, until then its all just speculation. I can see why Meadow feel aggrieved, not any more so than we do.
  8. Trying........hard..........not.....to........bite...... fuckit, ye dont know what your talking about. It is a charity and a community club. If you want to see a community come together, have a look at what's happened since the vote to move, scores of volunteers putting hundreds of hours in to make sure the place is fit and ready, not just for the Buffs but for our Youth Section, Amateurs, Gym Members, and various community groups like Gofitba, Centre stage, Breakfast Club. Happy to buy you a coffee and show you around, so that you're better informed the next time you put a post up.
