My opinion is yes appointing Rennie was a gamble but unlike the many managerial gambles by previous boards, it seemed a good punt as MR has managed at levels way above Scottish League One - and done pretty well. This is also the problem as he rocks up at TFS and the kind of player he is trying to work with is way below what he is used to or is used to his style of play. You can't get the right player to come down as low as we are - unless they are basically done and you pay them a heap of cash (Hmmmmm). MR will be true to his beliefs and will keep trying what has worked for him before but in League One with these players it's probably not gonna. It's only 6 months they say but the problem is it's an extremely important 6 months as we need to get out of this wilderness.

Said it before & I will say it again - the 6 month deal, unless he insisted on it - makes no sense. It's the kind of contract you give to Roy Hodgson (safe pair of hands) or Big Sam (last gasp desperation fire fighter ) , Rennie is neither. Even if we scrape the play offs we are not good enough to go up so it's all about next season. There has to be a sound plan for the next 2 seasons at least with a coaching staff locked in and committed. I have no idea about why MR has a 6 month contract and the thinking behind it but it seems strange to me.

I subscribe to Spiers' podcast and find it both enjoyable and refreshing mainly because he goes for subjects & guests that the mainstream media usually ignore. It hasn't been going long and we have already had 2 podcasts devoted to Falkirk, one starring our very own BPM. He also had the Dunfermline chairman on last week which was a pretty enlightening listen. I'd rather not give the BBC or Clyde the steam off my shite with their Old Firm obsessed cretins.

I'm not a vindictive man but I am very bitter. When I left Scotland for Australia we were an exciting team stacked full of homegrown talent appearing in Scottish Cup semi-finals and finals. What followed was a steady decline to where we are now. I don't ask for much but I sincerely wish we gain promotion out of this wilderness we are in. I also hope the main players in our decline - Craig Campbell, Traitor Lang, Deans & his hangers on - are now not welcome back at Falkirk Stadium. Resigning is one thing but it's not enough - they should have lifetime bans for crimes against FFC and their wrecking ball ego driven recklessness which resulted in so much damage to our football club. As BPM alluded , if not for the Patrons , FSS and the supporters we'd be well on the road to oblivion right now. Hey new BOD, lifetime bans - some of them were very quick to try to enforce the same on some of us ....with no basis. As I said I'm a little bitter.......still

I'm not a fan of the 6 month contract either, I wonder if it was the club or Rennie that decided that. It undermines authority a bit and puts doubt in the players's minds as who is the manager next season - and it's just so short termism. I am well aware Rennie is a gamble but if you make that call you need to back it for the good of the club. For the record I think he will turn things around and we will have enough to get a play off spot - after that I'm not confident but who knows , we may be a completely different kind of team by then

It thoroughly depresses me that we are getting excited about signing a 35 yr old topping up his pension. It was not that long ago we were held up as the shining example of developing youth players with a firm route into the first team. Playing Cup Finals & Semi-Finals with half the team made up of home grown players. To all those that argued with me at the time and swallowed Lang & Campbell's spin that we could not afford an academy, I hope you are happy now. Sorry I realize Craig will probably do a decent job for half a season, it's just me, It seems we had it all and we...sorry THEY....blew it.

Also January is a time when nearly all the targets are under contract to other clubs. Invariably it needs those clubs to secure their targets first to allow our targets to leave. That's why a lot of deals get done towards the end of this window.....if at all.

If this is a thing, and I don't doubt it is then the players are "downing tools" on the club and the supporters as well. Those same players then become dead to me...........There is no way on earth a true Falkirk player/legend like Big Joe, Yogi , Latapy, Crunchie or Houstie would ever do such a thing. Incidentally, it is strongly rumored COYB Facebook Fav & Legend Big Sexy Lee Miller did this very thing under Houstie's management.
