  1. Wow this is all over the place. Jumping from this season to last to cup finals , hibs & rangers back to the summer then Houstie and then now. My head is spinning with the chronological order and all the questions. A fair bit of rambling, and it's not all walking. Why be happy to mention Hitler but not his first name, just "A" , while Genghis gets his full name? "Board's head" ???? Mine hurts. For the record I haven't said the BOD should go - just the CEO & the Chair for all the reasons mentioned previously.
  2. My nephew was told ,before the start of the season, by Hartley himself that he hadn't seen the English lads "live". He didn't have to , as we had an English scout that he trusted. He had no reason to make this up back then. How do you know he saw "some" or "the majority" or "four or six" or maybe twelvety ? Seems a bit hairy fairy.
  3. I would not expect the BOD to vet players, but I would expect them to establish a process for the manager when bringing in players that extends beyond watching a 4 min youtube video. That signing strategy is a form of Russian Roulette and we never once got lucky. I would imagine that judging by their success Motherwell did the real due diligence on their English rejects. Hartley was allowed to sign 16 players totally unchecked - it seems. I agree the BOD acted quickly to their credit , unfortunately the damage was done. The point you make about ML having a sold grip on the things you'd want from someone running the club (badly) is one I made to EdiBairn before his demise as he was trying to pass her off/dismiss her as some "unpaid volunteer" like she was handing out bovril & pies on a Saturday or inside Fergus Fox, and therefore exempt from all blame.
  4. Delighted to see Craig 101 emerge to bury EdiBairn. I'm claiming the assist, an unintentional set-up but hugely satisfying nonetheless. Has anyone checked Edi's doorstep for milk bottles? #TELT #prayforedi
  5. You are missing the point. I'm not talking about 1 or 2 players. Hartley was allowed to sign 16 players, without having seen them "live" and many were young players with no real playing history in the senior game - placing all his faith in a scout (who was rumored to also be an agent) . Don't you think that is just a little bit reckless? Before you answer have a look at where FFC are now. I'd expect at least some governance, or at least diligence, from the Chairman to prevent a potential catastrophic situation - unless they were absolutely behind , & complicit in, this strategy.
  6. It's nothing to do with finance - you just asked me who would I replace her with and I just offered some examples. She has no shares anyway., no investment. Do you seriously think anyone could do a worse job? Oh and good deflection tactics in ignoring all my points to attack some guy at the head of a consortium instead.
  7. I don't think there is a misunderstanding about what the role of a chairman is..........in the outside world - but this is football. A quick glance at the other clubs in our league & who their chairman/woman is will tell you that the chair is very much running the club. From Mulraney to Rae to Low to MacGregor to Cameron to Martin - it's only us who think we are "fancy pants" and need a CEO. I agree with you that Campbell is failing big style and must go. But Lang is partly responsible and her performance at the recent Q&A with the fans, when CC stayed silent, shows she certainly has a firm grasp of the reins and is 100% behind the failing strategy. The consortium that were looking to buy the club have a good few candidates that could replace ML ,with better ideas on the way forward . I'd also take BPM in a heartbeat. I don't think any of them (or the chairmen at the other clubs above ) would allow Hartley to sign a team & a half of duds without seeing them play, then systematically pay them all off eventually. What a monumental mess, really give us anyone else.
  8. So what is the point of her...........and the mute CEO. Surly they both come up with the main strategy together and put it before the BOD for approval??? Also there's no way day to day decisions can be done remotely by a BOD who are largely absent and meet now and again - that would be just bizarre.
  9. Are you saying she has the best intentions yet is out of her depth, therefore exempt from criticism? I'm so confused, from what I read she ran rings around the fans at the Q&A and came across as very astute & knowledgeable regarding the football club. "Giving up her time to do a job for fellow supporters" is admirable but she's not selling pies in the South Stand, she is the Chairwoman and the amount of bad decisions during her tenure is astounding. The BOD/MSG seem largely disconnected and can only be bought out, they have left the running of the club to Chairwoman & the CEO who simply have to go for the good of the club - they are rank rotten.
  10. It's time the anonymous keyboard warrior behind the club statement was pushed forward to either retract or further explain the content. "racist abuse directed at Dennon Lewis by it's own supporters" "The individuals in question" "growing number of unacceptable incidents of abuse by Falkirk fans" " it is entirely unacceptable for supporters to abuse our players and staff" "extremely personal attacks on individuals" You can't just make these claims & pass them off as fact without being able to back them up, or indeed go completely silent on the matter leaving the player himself to deal with the fall-out. I honestly didn't think we could do worse than George Craig. #muteCEO
  11. Yes it is according to our own club, and in the absence of any apology or retraction we assume they still believe it is. #campbellout #langout
  12. He's Craig Campbell, our CEO , and this is exactly the reason Margaret doesn't let him speak anymore.
  13. Funny with the comparison to Killie I was thinking about how our fortunes have differed since Ryan Flynn missed that sitter at Rugby Park. It's fine lines indeed, maybe if Ryan had scored we might be sitting top of the pile in Scotland by now and they would languishing in the wilderness of the Championship. Having said that I think the stewardship of both clubs has a lot to do with where us & them are now. I'd always thought of Killie as the basket case but I know now it's us. I know we can't get rid of our board but they sure have had an easy ride during these dark times with fans largely impotent apart from us keyboard warriors.
  14. I'm still worried about what level of player he is going to get who is willing to move club (to the bottom end of the Championship) for a 6 month contract. Really you are looking at loan players and free agents IMHO if this is the strategy..
  15. Hopefully low-key, but if not ,then with the benefit of experience I'm hoping we might see through it as the cringey patronizing propaganda they normally spew out. #ourtime
  16. No they won't. More than any club out there, we've seen that particular movie before
  17. As we try to stay in contention whilst desperately waiting for the silver bullet (again) that is the January transfer window to come , I wonder what quality of player and on what length of contract Ray will be able to recruit. Obviously there is a limit on loan players and we do seem to need a fair few new players (again) so he will have to sign players good enough to get us out of the mire (again). Given the Jan window is the wee window where not too many move from clubs, it will prove a tough task to get the right quality prepared to move to the bottom of the league. And assuming this is another sticking plaster to get us to the end of the season again (again) ,when we can build another new team (_____) , it would point towards 6 month contracts - you're not going to get decent players unless they are too old, very young, unwanted, eternally crocked or have serious baggage . Thank God the league is basically rubbish.
  18. Only about 30 odd years mate. The first part of my statement was meant in general terms. E.G "you would get locked up for that these days" - I didn't actually mean "you" and wouldn't infer you had committed a crime.
  19. Wow, you could have an Academy for that. Gross negligence.
  20. North Korea won the World Cup under Kim Jung-un's guidance - would be worth a shot. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/outrageous-north-korea-propaganda-shows-11439296
  21. I certainly think Muirhead's injury is a blessing in disguise (well not in much disguise). The World's Worst Passer of a Ball is not missed. Well done the rest of the team in getting a great result. Onwards..............
  22. I never understood the non playing of Walllner whom was an Austrian international player at the time. I remember fans screaming out for him to come on & Hughes just ignored it. Yogi had a tendency to fall out with players and a lot of that was based on a poor showing in training. Then contradicted himself by letting Latapy away with it - which I agree with as he was an exceptional player when it came to match time. I could not give a toss what players do in training it's all about the 90mins. Hartley used to bang on about how hard they were working in training and how well it was going in training whilst we lost every match this season.
  23. 2008/2009 season - Aafjes, Latapy, Mallo, Riera, Arfield, Cregg, Barr. Some great players - I'd take any of them now.........
