  1. same debate going on just now re the Avenues project on Byres Road, Glasgow. Amazing to consider that the reduction of a dozen or so parking spaces is apparently going to decimate locksmiths, barbers and cobblers up and down the street. Making the public realm more attractive with wider decent pavements, greenery and outdoor seating as well as making pedestrians the priority over cars is not by all accounts going to entice more people and potential customers to spend more time on the street/at the shops. But instead stopping a guy from Anniesland parking outside their shop for 5 mins in order to pick up a lock or hand in a pair of shoes on his way home are the key considerations and margins for many of these shopkeepers and apparent fickle "long-term" customers.
  2. Don't think this is recent and probably been linked before but could watch all day....
  3. I just asked Mrs Rocketman what a potato pancake was....
  4. just happened to be up a tree with my phone......
  5. Starmer et co will be exhausted after one year of walking the tightrope of presenting themselves as an alternative to the Tories, whilst trying to keep the floating Tory voters on board. But not as exhausted as Sarwar will be trying to strategically align London Labour's increasingly hostile views on immigration, welfare, and the EU as positions in tune with his own. Not to mention hoping that no one sees that any statement on Gaza merely echoes every US utterance and stance.... Poor guy.
  6. The "no offence mate, but....." type response to defeat: "Kilmarnock were the better team. We didn't deserve anything from that game. That being said.....ref/pitch/time-wasting/ticket allocation/pitch/kick-off time/line-up/Hart/ref/pitch/squad breathing on fumes - down to bare bones (only 7 internationalists able to make the bench)/european exertions/pitch........."
  7. a couple earning over £200k per annum living in a house worth more than £350k??? where did they get the cash to buy it? Also could only have been an outright purchase as I can't think of any other means to finance a flat purchase........dodgy as feck in my view......
  8. I for one welcome any investigation to lead into determining whether priorities in relation to their disposable income are aligned with yours. Anything that is not in sync, v likely through party funding in my view.
  9. with that memory of yours, you probably also recall your fans rallying round your club and saving them from liquidation.
  10. you seem perhaps a little more fickle than your average game going fan...
  11. Enjoyed it - much better than the previous two episodes in my view. The whole messaging and inclusion agenda is absolutely fine by me but a good writer should be able to do it cleverly and subtly and not have to sledgehammer it home. In saying that, it would go over the heads of many it is aimed at if it were done more subtly and I would miss out on seeing them online completely triggered by it. Hope to see The (celestial) Toymaker again (he was originally played by Alfred from the Burton Batman movies (and sequels) ha) as he is a good villain and I like seeing less obvious canon enemies make their return. Definitely looking forward to the Xmas special now and tbh glad to see the back of Tennant and Donna.....
  12. Played more than 300 games for Killie. Let the man enjoy his boner.
  13. Sneddon clearly at fault for the first two goals, perhaps also for the third. How Thistle allowed that free-kick to be taken so quickly for the fourth whilst so many players "blocking" the quick free-kick, was criminal!
  14. the game was v good. Different standards of artificial parks - RR's looks pretty decent and does not seem to be factor in the games I have seen there. Same for Killie whereas Livingston's does seem to be the poorest surface....
  15. Collum is entirely consistent in his refereeing in that: 1. if any of the Old Grim players fall or claim a foul it is given. He awards solely on the Old Grim player's reaction; 2. if any of the other 10 clubs players fall or claim a foul, he awards it if he has clearly seen the foul being committed; Any of the Old Grim claiming he is biased for one of them over the other are talking pish. He favours them both. Imagine being a UEFA/FIFA top rated ref on the back of that.
  16. does it not move to MW or something when that happens and the commentary stays on FM?
  17. Something you never think about until you get closer to the tournament and then it starts to hang over you more and more as you remember the increasingly jingoistic coverage that comes from BBC and ITV. It is almost like the poppy debate - anything balanced or nuanced by a pundit is invariably met online with a barrage of "why do you hate this country?" type responses. And this seems to influence coverage. Hopefully be at some of the games or watching in Germany/other countries or if here, then in pub. But will be no getting away from it entirely - unless Scotland games get their own studio team which I doubt. sigh.
  18. Of the Swiss main qualifying squad including recent call-ups, 6 play in Ligue 1, 6 in Serie A, 8 in the Bundesliga (1), and 3 in the English Premiership. The rest of the squad play in the Swiss domestic league (11), with 1 in La Liga, 1 in the MLS, 1 in the Greek League and 1 in UAE. Just quickly lifted from wiki - so in the qualifying campaign and Nations league games, 23 squad players are from Europe's top leagues. If the wiki sources are wrong and you are right then I stand corrected.
  19. the majority of the Swiss squad play in Europe's top leagues. Whilst am sure they will be expecting a tough game against us, I don't think they will be looking at our squad options with envious eyes.
  20. of course it is not. Arriving at any other conclusion is simply projection.
