  1. This subject never seems to be touched by the media and it appears to me from the outside that it seems to be greatly on the rise compared to 10 or so years ago, when you see subjects like Scotland gaining independence on the news and they interview folk on the street down south the majority usually come out with the line "they would never survive without us" or some other disparaging remark.

A question mainly for the posters staying down in England, would you say speaking to work colleagues, friends, family etc are they that bothered about the potential end of the Union ?

  2. Just now, DA Baracus said:

A lad in work today was speaking a power of shite. I wouldn't say he is an idiot in general so I was surprised by the shit he was saying.

It was just all the usual tabloid nonsense.

The bottom part of DA's post is going to be the problem in the next vote, the same questions are going to be flung around, issues like currency, borders, pensions etc.....

I know people will point out some of the issues i mentioned above can be answered by white papers the government have released however  a large proportion of voters will not read these things and will go only with what their morning papers or news bulletins on the tele inform them, fixing that will put YES on a better footing than the last time.

I hope YES can do it whenever the vote comes but i think its still a bit too early to call it, its all down to what happens with Brexit, if a trade deal is struck then i think a YES vote will look less likely, if its a no deal and you have right wingers in charge down south  i think we have a really good chance.

  3. I think the SFA will speak to Clarke and i'm hoping he tells them to shove it, David Moyes will be the man i think that would take it, knowing the SFA they will probably be looking at Stuart McCall.

Personally i'm with a few folk here who said try the foreign approach but id imagine that will not be a popular choice with the boys club in Hampden.

  4. I see folk wanting Clarke to take over from McLeish, i would be really surprised, first of all he has seen first hand how terrible the SFA are as a governing body and are very reluctant to change (which is really needed), id imagine he does not need the money due to previous jobs down south, lets be honest the Scotland job cannot be appealing to anyone who wants to advance their career.

Saying that we do need a new manager as McLeish is a dinosaur (just like his employers), France 98 was the last major we were in, that tells you something is rotten to the core with our game.

Just look across the water to the ROI, similar sized nation, their league is not as good as ours yet they seem to make it frequently to major tournaments.

The SFA need a complete revamp and that would hopefully bring a change to the way we develop our game (it will take years to implement), how we manage to get the SFA to change is the 1 million dollar question.

  5. Trump and the gun nutters over in the states will be looking at this with the usual thoughts and prayers quickly followed by the pish of "the only way to kill a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" then rip into NZ strict gun laws.

People like Trump and leaders of influential far right parties in Europe are all part of this same problem.

I see the packages being sent London and Glasgow have been claimed by someone stating they are the IRA, worrying times ahead with the Irish situation.

Aye, I saw that, and whilst I don't condone bombs anywhere I'm struggling to understand why the IRA would countenance targeting Glasgow - it doesn't add up.

Glasgow Uni is a very strange choice.

  7. I agree with most folk that the police need to open up  to football fans, i think a lot (not all) the problems stem from who the match commander is, if their attitude towards fans is hostile from the start then id imagine the orders they pass down to your average cop are going to be hostile in nature, i also think FAC need to change their attitude and engage with the police, if they are saying the police are anti football fan and they are sticking by that view then we are going to go round in circles and still have this shite flinging contest in the future, both sides need to back out of their corners.

In regards about being filmed at a game i'm not that bothered, to ease the annoyance of some folk that don't like being filmed at a game i'd suggest the police inform us of cases how filming has been effective and stopped disorder.

Out of interest, maybe one of the "older" football fans who were kicking about in the 80's can tell me, what was policing back then like ?   It appeared then to have more organised fights and "mass disorder" especially down south, were the police like they are the now or more like their mainland european cousins who appear to be baton and riot shield friendly.

So could the offended fans, player or club issue a complaint to the SFA, who then investigate the incident and then decide on punishment/no punishment to the offenders?

Im 100 percent for clubs being liable for their fans actions, all im asking is that the SFA have a solid method in placeif this goes ahead, look at the discipline procedure they seem to make it up as they go, you cannot do that with a subject as serious as this.

  9. To take points off teams for fans chanting would require crystal clear information from the SFA in regards to what songs they would deem not acceptable, ive seen people on various forums saying some phrases are not bigoted and others are so it would need to be cleared up.

Only thing im wary about is say if the SFA have a person watching at every ground in Scotland and they hear a couple of folk saying things that would breach the rules, would the club be deducted points or a heavy fine, literally because a couple of idiots (every club has them) ?

If the chanting can clearly be heard  and sung by a large amount of fans then fire away and deduct points or fine.

The whataboutery that could get unleashed would be horrendous just so they could get their rivals hammered by a fine or deduction.

  10. The term "black b*****ds" is still used frequently down here in reference to someone being  unhygienic, that being said im not a great fan of it being sung and also the "darkies" chat is woeful,

First thing came to mind when reading this thread was the video on youtube with the east fife fans singing a song about cowdenbeath, made the news, got on they think it is all over, now its outdated.

"black b*****ds" "dirty arab b*****ds" "orange b*****ds" and then all the sectarian shite as well needs to get into the sea.

    Bump.

A hearty well done to Steve Clarke for his comments lastnight. Laying bare the personal impact of the abuse and songs him and others face. Laying bare the fact that the country is poisoned at the roots and the impact it has on his family.

Lets see if anything changes or if the media and governing bodies continue pretending it doesnt exist.

Sad thing is it wont, been highlighted time and time again and nothing happens, just be passed as you got pumped and move on pish chat.

The family deal we have is all the time, not just Hamilton games. An adult and 2 under 12’s for £16 is brilliant value, but apart from Twitter where do we see this advertised? It’s been the same for about four years now and away fans still seem amazed every time they hear about it. It should be known by now.

Our away support has also been decent in comparison to our home support, 400+ at Livingston on a Wednesday night and 500+ at Hibs in our last two away games are both more than acceptable for a club our size, it’s our home support all the issues are around.

Its pretty frustrating tbh, just don't know why home games more numbers and noise cant be generated, i know away games most folk have a drink and the singing voice comes out, so besides getting everyone pished before K.O at RP or at your ground what can you do.

  13. Our crowds have went up slightly but its been nothing spectacular even with ourselves doing brilliant the now, we have always had a core of 3 to 4 thousand who always turn up no matter how good or pish we are, what iam seeing with Killie is the board making more of an effort trying to promote games around the area, I thought i saw your board  have really good deals for the Hamilton game there, was that not the case ? What kind of numbers you taking away from home ? Since our fortunes have turned our away support has been amazing but continue to have the same issue as you guys with the home games.
