  1. We're always set-up cautiously. Hearts will have to work for their goals. The big problem is that attacking is a seconary thought with Crawford. We will happily give Hearts all the posession they want 40 plus yards from our goal. The constant pressure will take it's toll eventually and I can't see us scoring based on recent performances.
  2. Yeah, he's got six goals but only two from open play. The three penalties certainly have put a shine on his record. I disagree that he's done well winning the ball. Normally a bad first touch and ball is lost. He's not suited to playing with his back to goal imo.
  3. You can still play football with somebody up top who has the strength and ability to hold the ball up the top end of the park and bring the flair players into the game in attacking areas. You seem to think a target man can only be 6,5 donkey that has balls lumped at his head all day.
  4. Still think we need a different type of striker. I would like to see McCann go out and score a few goals further down the leagues to find his scoring touch. I would then bring in a more experienced physical striker. Can't bear watching McManus being used as a lone target man any longer. Doesn't suit him at all. He should be feeding off a target man.
  5. Pars winning the league cup would be tremendous. Hardly just above the challenge cup when you have the top division teams trying to win it.
  6. No it's not. It's would be better to lose and win than draw two games, so trying to score more goals and take more chances defensively would hopefully produce more points and be a much better watch.
  7. I thought Ayr just looked a better team at passing the ball around midfield. More composed players in the middle of the park. Our three midfielders don't have any understanding between them. One or two passes and it breaks down. The build up is so slow and predictable that it gives the opposition time to read our passes. It leads to the full backs by-passing the midfield and hitting it long to the likes of McManus who's not a target man in a month of Sundays. His ball control is atrocious. The rare occassions we manage to get Dow and Thomas in the game, they are unable to beat their man or put a decent ball in. They're completely ineffective at the moment. We need a strong striker that can hold the ball up and act as a foil for O'Hara and McManus to do what they are best at, which is running on to balls behind the defence. Not playing with their back to goal. The defence are doing well but that's because we are abandoning any attacking threat in the process. Dull, negative football. I would rather lose a couple games playing a bit more expansive and playing on the front foot. I know we are second in the league but it doesn't feel like it due to the boring style of play. I can't be arsed watching the Pars right now. The problem is that Crawford's instincts as a manger is try keep a clean sheet first then we will think about winning games. I can't see him ever changing this safety first approach. Nisbet was a great outlet for him last year but it doesn't work with the personal we have up top this season.
  8. Utter boring crap again. Dow and Thomas utter rubbish, nothing up top and nobody creating in midfield.
  9. Aye, refresh is in top tight corner. Worked for me
  10. This passing the ball around the back four then aimless ball to McManus where it breaks down if really pissing me off. It all we do. Utter crap
  11. Nice touch at the end by Bell there. Seems a right decent bloke. Was a brilliant player at his peak with us.
  12. We are a boring team. Need to play with more tempo have a go at teams more often. Far too safe and predictable. McManus is a worker but as a lone striker he has crap ball control. We need somebody who can hold the ball up and bring others into play.
  13. We really are showing nothing in attack yet again.
  14. Apologise Ayr fans. That whining hoor was like tooth ache and I'd had a few whiskies. I actually have a lot of time for Ayr Utd
  15. My hearing is perfectly fine as well as our USH. We just decide to not turn it on for pishy wee clubs like Ayr.
  16. Why waste thousands of pounds to get a frozen pitch turned into a mud bath to play Ayr Utd infront of no fans. Ayr can go halfers on the fuel costs if they want.
  17. Moff came to Pars having scored 25 plus goals the season before. I thought we were getting a great poacher finisher type player but he was acutally crap at all that. He was however a very good footballer with a nice touch, good skill and a turn of pace over the first five yards.
  18. Davidson had left us at the end of 2018/19 season and Turner signed pre 2019/20 season. Davidson may well have been involved with the scouting prior to him signing though.
  19. Aye, wouldn't be a surprise to see him follow in his old man's footsteps. Would be a good signing but maybe take time to get up to speed. I didn't really rate him last season but he's shown what Crawford saw in him this season. Think we will still be due compensation due to his age and the fact that we woul've offered him a new deal.
  20. Josh Edwards-- KEEP- Maturing into a fine left back. Lewis Martin- KEEP- Getting worrying how many long term injuries Lewis has had now. No doubting His abilities though. Euan Murray-KEEP- Maybe well be the case that he decides to go elsewhere. Kyle Turner-KEEP- See above Gabby McGill- OUT- Gone on loan to York for the remainder of his contract. Will be amazed if we see him back. Not shown near enough Lewis McCann- KEEP- Still young and I think I would give him a bit longer to develop Steven Whittaker-NOT SURE- Not sure he will decide to play another season anyway. Really slow but does a decent job in that sitting midfield role Cammy Gill-NOT SURE- Really needs to start pushing to be first choice. Not shown enough so far but still very young for a keeper. Think that's all of our summer out of contract guys. Not even sure if McCann and Edwards are out of contract but put them in there anyway. Edited for loan players left out- Mayo- KEEP ( If we lost E.Murray)Think there is a really good centre half there but he's not had a chance due to Murray and Watson doing well and playing every week McInroy- KEEP- Good footballer. Think he needs to be a bit more disciplined in the defensive side of the game as he's casual at times and improve some decision making in around the final 3rd but at 20 he's got time to develop that side. Good player for Craw to develop. Not sure what Celtic want to do with him though but I would be open to Pars signing him permanently. Fraser Murray- KEEP- Can't see him ever making at Hibs but I think he's decent. Feel he should make more of an impact with his ability but Stevie would be a good manager to get the best out of him given time.
  21. Jackson Longridge was sent off 27th April 2019. Pars lost 1 nil to Morton from a late Greg Kiltie penalty. Due to result elsewhere, Pars couldn't be relegated. What a horrible season that was.
  22. Hear that he's a whizz in the field of science, he's found a way to extract the hydrogen from snow and converted the oil fired USH system to a hyrdogen combustion system. We can now run the USH on snow. Cracking signing.
