  1. Rubbish He said something like that but quickly retracted. LeftBackexplained it to the nth degree but was forced to give up. Likewise now with me.
  2. Well, in the cases you mention, they will also be paid by SG. Please address the central point? There is NO fund. Pensions are paid from current taxation and post independence the SG will pay Scottish pensioners. Very straightforward and fair!
  3. I’m talking mainstream state retirement pension. Please address the central point? On independence, the SG willpaypensions out of current taxation. The UK government will pay RUK pensions. Just hope that there will be enough high salaried individuals paying lots of tax to maintain your pension. London and the South East will no longer be subsiding.
  4. I've you are talking about the Advocate General for Scotland - that's actually an appointment of HM Government. Felt sorry for her. I think she knew she was on a loser.
  5. There is a liability and it will be paid by the SG as long as you live after independence. If you die before or during receiving the pension your estate gets nil unlike funded pensions.
  6. Just read a summary of a report’The Road to the Scottish Currency’ by the Scottish Currency Group which states that it is likely that the SG will take over, on Independence Day, the paying of UK state pensions to Scottish residents.
  7. No need for impartiality on here. About 90 plus % of the contributors are all of the same mindset.
  8. I’m baffled that nothing much has happened. I remember politicians going on about carbon capture and storage during the Tony Blair years. I just assumed that bringing it to fruition was beyond scientific capability. Again, I’m not disagreeing with you.
  9. I went to the Conclusion which sounded reasonably positive. Im all for it and agree it should be fast tracked with government support. Its just that I’ve heard about this for decades and nothing much seems to have happened. Hopefullythis crisis will speed things up as it would be a real game changer. Its just that, in the meantime, I don’t want the lights to go out.
  10. Quite a few wearing masks in our local Morrison’s today. The message seems to be getting through,
  11. Don’t see what all the fuss is about. Its not as if we didn’t know she detested toaaaaries. Anyway, words hurt no one. I detest Nicola so she can say anything she wants as far as I’m concerned.
  12. I’m sure there are some great ideas there but, in the short to medium term we need fossil fuels plus a ramping up of nuclear. SNP says no on that one! Its no good telling everyone that Scotland produces 100% of its energy from renewables when , if you have a high pressure cold snap with no wind, you need to import from elsewhere. A secure base load is essential.
  13. Thank you very much. A pleasure to meet you.
  14. Thought he was banned? Anyway, great win yesterday. We’re starting to look a real smooth, flowing outfit and should be well in contention to win this league. Can only help us bring in the necessary finance.
  15. Okay, windy day. What about when the wind isn’t blowing?
  16. Always thought cannabis was used more by the middle classes. I agree with her as it is a gateway drug to the harder stuff. Seems like you want decriminalisation?
  17. Kenneth- you seem to be the only one on here who truly wants independence. The rest much prefer slagging off the toaries.
  18. Well, I’m trying to get across that, as well as the state being required to help out when a person has hit hard times, there is also a requirement on the individual to take personal responsibility for things in his/her control. Its a two way street. It just seems that, for someone like me who is to the right in politics, it’s impossible to get that across without being accused of being uncaring, nasty, whatever.......
  19. It’s absolutely none of my business in knowing about anyone else’s benefits situation. Its between them and the DWP or the relevant department. As an employer, the only instruction you take is from HMRC regarding the individuals Code Number. Shame you couldn’t ‘reason’ that out.
  20. I’m not going to argue with you as I actually agree with what you’re saying. Maybe I’m not getting that across.
