  1. I think you would find that if the new targeted approach was adopted then there would be new benefits introduced to incentivise those affected. After all, most of the vulnerable will already be either retired or off sick with their disability. The working fit are not really affected apart from a relatively small number with diabetes, obesity and respiratory problems and, yes, they should be properly compensated for shielding. Its certainly a new approach which NEEDS to be considered.
  2. On the basis that this virus is not going away anytime soon, it appears that civil servants in Whitehall are drawing up plans to target the vulnerable for protection rather than stopping mainstream life going on. It would mean that the elderly, the obese and those with health issues would be told/advised to isolate in order to allow schools, business, hospitality to get back to normal. Apparently, they now have sufficient data to do this with the plan being described as a ‘stiletto rather than a sledgehammer’. With the NHS more than able to cope ,people in the ‘at risk’ categories would make their own decisions as to whether the risk was worth it or otherwise. A new approach but there is a lot of sense in it to stop the increasing meltdown in jobs and increasing poverty.
  3. Seems hard to disagree with that. Looking at it from all contrarian angles, they agreed to the rules, broke them, therefore should be punished.
  4. I suppose we can all be a bit hypocritical at times. Best policy is to make your point without bad language, without fear or favour and let others show themselves up in a bad light. If you want some protection, as it’s needed in these woke times, consider joining the freespeechunion.org which will offer help and legal advice if you are threatened in any way. Have a nice day.
  5. Yes, your summary is reasonably accurate. You think it’s worth going through all this mayhem, unemployment, non COVID I’ll health, depression, etc, to protect people like me. I don’t. Lets leave it there.
  6. Agree with all that’s been said about the need to penalise AFC but, purely out of curiosity, and not wanting to start an argument (heaven forbid), can anyone tell us if any of those infected people in Grampian are ill?
  7. Yes, we had some unusual strips in the old days. In fact the all white strip was used quite a lot. Seem to remember guys like Eric Addison, Basie Keogh and the Irish contingent of Sammy Wilson, Tommy Lowry and Vic McKinney decked out in all white.
  8. I don’t think we need another centre back. weve got Durban, Hall, Dixon and Miller who can all play in that position
  9. Just heard today that the major shareholder is completely fed up and is eager for his shareholding to be diluted in order that he can revert to being a superfan plus but with no hassle. Maybe these new appointees have that as a remit?
  10. The only one of the new board members I know is Ronnie Bateman - good man who worked hard for the club In the past without much thanks. Dont know anything about the others.
  11. Might be wrong but I seem to remember him debuting against Stranraer at Stair Park.
  12. I can only agree with you. Very painful to work out who the worst was.
  13. You are correct. Also, I think it was after he had left Falkirk.
  14. Funnily enough, my daughter went out with DW for a while. Coincidences!
  15. Well done, you. Some great memories in that lot. Ian Harley - jet propelled. Jimmy Jack - brilliant against us with Arbroath, rubbish for us, Dennis Setterington- his son worked for me. The family lived in Stirling. Dennis died quite young. Coach on left - was that Alan Cousin. Trainer in blue - lived in Mungalhead Road - McKenzie I think - did he not commit suicide? Hoggan and Shirra - Great stalwarts.
  16. Don’t like too many subs as it stops the flow of the game. Things are fine as they are just now.
  17. Shouldn’t bring politics into here. Also, mind your language. Not the best!
  18. Maybe you should take a look at thefreespeechunion.org of which I am a member. Might give you something to think about?
  19. You deliberately miss the point but that seems to be your forte. Closed minds seem to be in the preponderance on this forum A few years ago I attended a fundraiser for David Hagen organised by Andy Thomson, I think, at BTW.
  20. Wow!!- ‘dripping with malice’ Finding it hard to see how a suggestion to reconfigure the donation to a great charity from the Club to the fans can be described as above. Full marks to the club for thinking of this but I certainly wouldn’t be too happy if they did this too often as my main motivation in buying tickets Is to help the club.
  21. Calm down. The chances of winning are about 1 in 3000. Therefore minuscule chance of winning. Surely giving up that chance for one week is worth it for such a good cause and, at the same time, providing much needed funds for the club. Just a suggestion.
