  1. SD- your credentials are impeccable. For goodness knows how long you have assiduously avoided the subject of politics, and, indeed on many an occasion you have reprimanded myself for straying in to that area. For once in your life, to fall below your own high standards, is understandable and indeed forgivable.
  2. You are correct about folks being so touchy nowadays. I am happy to support Rangers and Celtic in Europe as, when they do well, it’s great for Scottish football. I even attended the Scottish Cup Final in 1956 to see Hearts beat Celtic. My dad took me as I liked the maroon colour of their shirts. A plurality of viewpoint can only be a good thing.
  3. Loving this. Keep going, SD. I might just be tempted.
  4. When you get to my age, you don’t have too much time to waste. Ive already been stripped of 6months.
  5. As soon as totally locking down to achieve "Zero Covid" went off the table, all decisions from there on out surely have to be political, at least in part. Can’t believe I’m agreeing with you!
  6. Doctors and scientists give their opinion but ultimately politicians decide policy. They do the balancing between keeping life going and shutting up shop as that’s all the scientists want. I therefore agree with Doncaster and Mulroney.
  7. For what it’s worth I heard that if Hearts could shift out a couple of players he’d be going there. If not, he’d be joining us.
  8. I do find it strange - you are so so correct, but I suppose these are strange times. We also get this RR Texas Ranger character who goes into all kinds of detail. These guys, I’m afraid have a problem. I think it’s a yearning to be noticed.
  9. Thanks but I think I prefer to be the most hated poster.
  10. AGM - 22nd October - online. Profit £269000 Cash at Bank £620000 Bounce Back Loan £50000- interest free, therefore sensible to take. Lex received £13000 of rent income. 3.3 mn new shares to be allotted Seems to be about 2.4mn currently allotted. Rawlins will take a 26% stake In the club at 0.40 pence per share. Supporters will be encouraged to take up shares
  11. Very impressed with this years Accounts package. Much more information than previously and like the direction Gary is taking us. Things looking up.
  12. Absolutely no methodology other than people would just be desperate to get back to watching football plus the return of BA. As mentioned earlier lots of folks have had nothing much to spend money on for ages e.g. holidays, entertainment, etc. Im not arguing with your assessment, just disappointed.
  13. Wow, for once it’s not me he’s referring to. Im a bit disappointed. Maybe you could add ‘unionist’ to the description.
  14. Yes, I agree. Everyone retired has done well along with public service workers and those office staff working from home. Unfortunately, some people have been made redundant, including some fellow fans, so I would guess it is a mixed picture. But yes, the number of ST’s sold is disappointing especially as the marketing has been quite strong.
  15. Oliver Dowden hinted on Andrew Marr this morning that there would be help for smaller football clubs as they were the bedrock of many communities. If help is given in England, then Barnett consequentials will come to Scotland. Hope that’s allowed. Politics but football related and ultra important.
  16. Come on - you know you just love it!! Controversy makes the world go round. I remarked that the camera work was rotten yesterday. No comment?
  17. I take it your against James Anderson giving his £50000 donations to Scottish clubs. Profits made from the fabulous Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust. Its maybe capitalism but it was the brainpower of the investment managers at Baillie Gifford who foresaw the growing influence of technology who created the wealth. You sound like a Luddite.
  18. I don’t think we can go to Florida at the moment? My earlier holiday to there was cancelled. Anyway, make your appeal for 2 as my wife wants to go as well. Thanks
  19. Was that not a foul by Francis? Anyway, he did well and things look good. Camera work was poor but maybe they were just bedding in new equipment.
  20. The only financial system to produce a reasonable standard of living for the majority of the population is a mixed economy eschewing capitalism which provides funding for welfareism for those that require it. Witness Cuba and Venezuela for failed socialism. You are therefore correct in stating that the economy must be protected for that to continue. In the case of NS she is, and always has been, a rabid socialist and therefore has no concern about protecting business. At the end of the day, despite all the protestations from people on here, things will be opened up, some folks will die a little earlier than otherwise, but the overall health and wealth of the whole of society will be put first.
