Seeing as finance seems to be the current hot topic how about this for an idea for funding the new fourth stand?

Next season add £1 to ticket prices, this amount to be ring fenced and placed in an account to be used solely for the purpose of building of a new stand.

Steady on, pal. Have you any idea the amount of people who can’t afford an extra quid a week? We’re paying enough on tickets, merchandise, hospitality, pies, stake bakes, beer, fags…and you want us to part with yet another pound of our hard earned??

What I am disappointed with is the amount of fans who could join but haven’t. I don’t see anything wrong with expressing that view.

There’s nothing wrong with expressing that view, you’re not alone in being disappointed.

Let’s cut the bullsh*t. A very small minority of our support are likely to fall into the bracket of struggling financially to the extent that they are unable to justify an extra tenner a month. However far too many are latching onto that as a convenient excuse, and either can’t be arsed or simply don’t care enough. It’s £2.50 a week ffs! No one will convince me so many people are that hard up.

Disagree tbh. Dunfermline won this league last year and drew 13 games. The year before that Cove won it and drew 10 games. We will not win every game and we can end up winning this league by drawing a dozen games (granted it’s important we don’t lose many) but not losing that name today was massive especially against a promotion rival.

I’m with alonso on this. I don’t think he nor anyone else would suggest the league was going to be won or lost today, regardless of the result. But given the monumental importance of achieving promotion this season, I think it’s entirely fair that some fans are underwhelmed at salvaging a 96th minute equaliser against Cove Rangers (who were missing a number of key players incidentally).

Since we plummeted into League 1, our record against full time opposition/promotion rivals has been nothing short of an embarrassment. It would’ve been nice to lay down a marker today for the first time in years. Poor refereeing or defensive mistakes aside, it should be viewed as 2 points dropped.

I've just watched that interview, f**k me. The boys gave everything, we've improved, it's a two year plan. It's fucking league one the standard is atrocious. They were utter shite, with the exception of Mackie and yeats today they all flung in the towel.

Even if by some sort of miracle he gets us up next year he's doing absolutely f**k all in the championship. Houston, arguably the best manager we've had in a decade or so couldn't manage it.

I've watched every ball we've kicked this year, I've wasted thousands to be told we were unlucky we need to realise where we've came from. No you absolute weapon, you caused this by playing the same starting 11 because we won the last game, regardless of individuals performances or the opposition. So when you're properly found out you rely on players who haven't kicked a ball in anger in months.

Get the c**t to f**k, get his 60 minute subs to f**k, get his negative pish one up front in league b*****d one at home to kelty to f**k, get his mulling over stats to f**k.

That squad needs horsed, a complete clear out. Is a manager really gonna cost that much more.

Well said. Sick of the patronising p*sh that suggests we should be grateful for the progress he’s made this season. Absolute fu*king nonsense. We’re in The Boys’ Brigade league for Christ sake. Thankfully some of us weren’t born yesterday. This season has been yet another failure. Any Falkirk manager who fails to win promotion from League 1 with the budget McGlynn’s had deserves their jotters. Get him, and Gary Oliver, to fu*k!!

Presumably you’d be willing to cough up the funds needed to stop the club going bust instead then?

It’s all relative. I contribute what I can by subscribing to the FSS and attending matches and buying merchandise, and I look for nothing in return. If I had the money those pair have, I can guarantee you the Club wouldn’t be languishing in the third tier of Scottish football, nor would the Board have to come begging for help. I wonder what their latest interest rates are.

  6. 1 hour ago, PedroMoutinho said:

Absolutely- clearly plenty of mistakes have been made (more so by appointees of MR and SA I would argue). However, without doubt, the club would not be here now without the funds these two individuals have contributed over the years.

They deserve our thanks for that and I think it would be a good time also for some people to think about their words and behaviour towards them.

Fans like @MSG GTF! who wanted these individuals gone forever should be careful what they wish for.

They can f**k off. I’d have taken not a dime from either of them. Falkirk fans my arse.

Because someone used the phase “stinking the place out” and I'm pretty sure it was you, although the post has now been edited so I can’t prove it. It was made in response to a question as to why staff were resigning.

You said that you hoped "the new board would clear the fucking decks. Sick of seeing the same old faces stink the place out year after year. Gut the place."

That's a pretty offensive statement. Particularly when made in response to a question about employees who work in backroom areas such as Finance, Retail, Commercial & Hospitality. Which all four of those leaving / left do.

Many of these people are my friends. Are you really surprised that I would make a post defending them?

It was me who said it and the post is still there for all to see. But you are wrong to state the post was in response to “a question about employees who work in backroom areas such as Finance, Retail, Commercial & Hospitality”. The post was in response to a suggestion that more “long serving staff” were leaving the Club. No names or departments were mentioned. The same old hangers on have continued to stink the place out for years without any accountability. The Thomson’s, Ritchie’s, Bateman’s, Hogg’s of this world. That list is endless and they’ve all been part of the rot. But I have no axe to grind with anyone who serves in the club shop or who pulls pints behind the bar.

See Dowds and Goodwillie have the lowest Goals per minute in the league 1🤷‍♂️😂( by the way excluding his 6 in the championship) . In view of your personal attacks on the boy over the year, I  know You will be pleased with that  stat , alongside that angry wee bald  fat man that is  best  pals with the the board member, but knows nothing ,” gets trousered” but doesn't  even have the emotional intelligence to delete his  disgusting post,  yet also states the  current players  are on big wages🤷‍♂️😂😂😂Hypocrite!

You need to clear the whole club again of this cancer- get rid of the dimwits, the pretend successful idiots, who truly have achieved nothing.

You are truly too big  a club too fail, but supporter funds alone , will result in failure….

Oh before you answer to the post, like your name truly  GTF!

“Personal attacks” 😂. Away and gie’s peace ya clown, League 2 forum for your pish. Nothing will change my opinion of Dowds. He’s not good enough for Falkirk and never will be. I could count the number of good games he’d had for us on one hand. The fact that people are disappointed he’s leaving tells you exactly how low we’ve sunk.

  9. 1 hour ago, Bainsfordbairn said:

Or describing them as stinking the place out and demanding they all be sacked when the first team, their manager and the directors who picked him fail at their jobs.  😐

I didn’t describe these “unsung people” as stinking the place out so why are you insinuating I did? JulioBairn stated this afternoon that more long serving staff were rumoured to be leaving the Club. For all anyone knew that could’ve been Keith Hogg for example rather than bar staff or Sharon from hospitality, hence why he should’ve been more specific. Perhaps time to get down off your high horse.

  10. 6 minutes ago, JulioBairn said:

    😂😂😂😂😂

No bother mate. What difference would that have made? I’m simply questioning why so many people are deciding to leave and so far the only answer I’ve had is that it’s somehow Gary Deans fault. Why you so rattled?

I’m not rattled, but I note that both you and Bainsford have made reference to my earlier comments as if to suggest I was referring specifically to Sharon or the bar staff. Clearly that’s not who I was referring to.

  11. 1 hour ago, JulioBairn said:

I’m hearing more long serving staff are resigning. What is going on behind the scenes? Abandoning a sinking ship or genuine reasons for going?

Given the Clubs rapid decline over the past few years, I hope the new board clear the fucking decks. Sick of seeing the same old faces stink the place out year after year. Gut the place.

  12. Ian Murray would be my first choice. I wouldn’t be disappointed with Tommy Wright either (assuming he’d be interested) but I’m not as keen on him as I once was after a poor spell at Kilmarnock.

Craig Levein really interests me. A wealth of experience and knows the Scottish game. He’s certainly more than capable at this level and I think he could be exactly the type of appointment we need right now. Whether he has a desire to get back into management is another matter, but we could do a lot worse than ask the question.

There are no guarantees no matter who we appoint, but the thought of McIntyre or Johnston does absolutely nothing for me.

  13. 1 hour ago, Bainsfordbairn said:

His arrival had nothing to do with appeasing fans.

So Sammy just happened to be the outstanding candidate despite having no commercial experience whatsoever?

As I said, it was yet another nonsense ‘jobs for the boys” appointment that was made to appease the fans, and nothing will convince me otherwise.

  14. 9 hours ago, Top of Meeks Road said:

Our illusions of grandeur can be well summed up in Sam McGiverns decision to quit. We are immediately advertising for a replacement when we, as a struggling 3rd tier outfit, have a CEO doing what precisely?

    Honestly, gie me peace!

Sick of reading pish like this on social media since McGivern’s departure. Sammy’s a decent bloke so let’s separate him as an individual from the role for just a second. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that a guy with 25 years experience in social work, was simply out of his depth at meeting targets and generating much needed income as a ‘Commercial Executive’? It was yet another nonsense appointment by the chumps on the previous board in a desperate attempt to appease the fans.

Let’s hope the new board appoint someone who’s not necessarily got any previous connection to the club, but simply knows how to do their job.

  15. I’m not angry at the board for appointing Rennie, but if they allow this absolute shitshow to carry on beyond the weekend, then they’ll deserve every bit of criticism coming their way. Someone needs to have the balls to hold their hands up and admit defeat. No shame in that whatsoever. Get this fucking dud out tonight!

  16. 3 hours ago, FFC1982 said:

I’m not excusing Rennie for anything but how long is fair to give someone after 7 or 8 years of continual mediocrity and a board desperately trying to remove a sense of apathy thats been hanging around the club for the same length of time. The same squad albeit with some additions wasn’t good enough before Rennie came in but I’m sure the BOD will need a bit more that 3 months to turn the ship around.

I’m behind the new board 100%. I believe they are good Falkirk men who in time, will do their best to fix the mess they have been left. However, if they are desperately trying to remove the apathy amongst the support, the last thing they ought to do is extend the contract of a dud that the vast majority of fans don’t want. Rennie has shown nothing to merit being here next season.
