  1. I have started a Montrose save and have played their opening 2 Betfred cup games. The first was a 3-0 defeat at ICT which was no shock. The second a 2-1 win at home to Cowdenbeath after being 1-0 down and a man down at half time. Cowdenbeath had drawn 2-2 at Dunfermline and lost on pens and drawn 5-5 at home to Livingston also losing on pens, before the game at Links Park.
  2. I assume that Watford would have a decent transfer and wage budget. I don't recognise the guy from Corinthians but I assume Southampton and Celtic would want a pretty hefty transfer fee for Forster and Ntcham. I would assume both would also be after a decent size wage including clauses and bonuses.
  3. Good that you kept Watford up, couple of fine wins against Tottenham and Chelsea. Hopefully you can get Watford climbing the table in the seasons ahead.
  4. What's meant to be going on ? Northumberland police have advised Berwick and Raith that right wing extremists were looking to target the friendly between the club's at Shielfield. The club's were advised there was a risk to fans attending and that the game should be called off. I agree with the decision as fans safety should not be risked but this is something that should not be happening.
  5. It is pathetic that people would look to target a friendly like this to cause trouble just to make their political point. It is the supporters who will be left out of pocket for especially the travelling Raith support given the distance to and from Berwick that I have sympathy for. I guess there is no other option if the advice from police is there is a serious risk to those attending, as I guess switching the date of the game is probably not practical due to the club's pre season arrangements. I am disappointed that something like this can still happen these days.
  6. Everything about the changes is no doubt intended to benefit the OF regardless of whether or not it devalues the competition. Introduce colt teams to prove it can work so Rangers and Celtic can try and fit their colt teams into the league set up. Create a cross border set up to show it can be a success and maybe ad a result try to get Rangers and Celtic into the English leagues. The whole cup has become a complete nonsense and is not worth the time anymore.
  7. That's an insult to Dr Frankenstein who is a lot smarter than that clown Doncaster. It is a shame when Regan left the SFA he could not drag his equally moronic and corrupt crony Doncaster out the SPFL as well and let someone competent take over.
  8. I would not be unhappy if he stayed and was able to have a good season either. I guess we will just have to see if there is any truth about him going to St Mirren.
  9. I would agree that it is disapointing if he was to leave but maybe it is what he might need a fresh start elsewhere. I thought at the time he signed that it would be a good signing given his record at Championship level. Sadly the move has not appeared to work out for whatever reason injury issues, his problems with depression etc. It just shows that success at other clubs is not guaranteed to be repeated no matter how good the signing might appear to be at the time.
  10. The grounds I have visited are Aberdeen Celtic Rangers Hearts Dundee Hibs Montrose Arbroath Brechin Forfar Ross County Ayr Utd Kilmarnock Stirling Albion Partick Thistle Motherwell Livingston St Mirren - Old Love Street. East Fife - Old Bayview Raith Rovers Dunfermline St Johnstone Airdrie Morton Clyde Valencia That is it a few Scottish grounds not on the list which it would have been nice to though. A few of the visits with Utd were to groundsharing teams. Hamilton at Partick Thistle Queens Park at Airdrie - Scottish Cup Clydebank at Stirling Albion - Scottish Cup. I am sure that the game was meant to be played at Boghead but it kept getting postponed and the SFA eventually decided to move the tie.
  11. Van der Veldon. I had forgotten all about him and apart from a half decent goal against QOS on the opening game of that season can not think of anything positive to remember him by.
  12. I have decide to go with a Montrose save today to see how I get on with them. Only got as far as playing the second round of Betfred cup group games today before watching the Argentina game tonight, but this result caught my attention.
  13. So it is St Johnstone Colts at home in the Irn Bru Cup. Not who I wanted but at least it's a home tie.
  14. I wonder if it is Jack Aitchison the young Celt striker on loan. That is the only name I can think of it have seen been mentioned recently. The transfer news seems to have went quiet though.
  15. I seem to recall him being highly injury prone which was disappointing as it stopped him from getting a regular run in the team. I remember him scoring a decent goal against Motherwellat Tannadice and a penalty at Dens but that's it is am afraid. Hope the St Mirren medical team don't mind an increased workload.
  16. I watched this pretty recently answer also found it a good watch, also interested in the situation from a historical angle. I was always interested that the German army never went in and finished the allied forces off while stranded on the beach while awaiting evacuation but instead halted short of Dunkirk. Thankfully things did not turn out differently. It was a fantastic achievement to evacuate so many in such difficult circumstances. Thankfully the Germans then were unable to overcome the RAF and Royal Navy to allow Operation Sea Lion to become reality. Hitler then making the suicidal decision to proceed with Operation Barbarossa instead.
  17. For Dundee United I would not mind either Montrose or East Fife either home or away. East Fife as it is the one Fife team I have not seen United play. Montrose because I wouldn't mind playing them again, I remember United going to Links Park around 2001 and winning 2-0. I do not think there has been another competitive meeting of the club's since then (Forfarshire cup not included).
  18. He is a striker I think. I am sure he scored against Motherwell to become their youngest goal scorer. I cannot remember if it was a league or cup game.
  19. 1. Celtic 2. Aberdeen 3. Rangers 4. Hibernian 5. Killmarnock 6. Hearts 7. Motherwell 8. St Johnstone 9. St Mirren 10. Dundee 11. Hamilton 12. Livingston Championship side to win the playoff final. Celtic to complete another treble.
  20. 1.Dundee United 2.Ross County 3. ICT 4. Partick Thistle 5. Dunfermline Athletic 6. QOS 7. Falkirk 8. Greenock Morton 9. Ayr United 10. Alloa Athletic
  21. It's that time of year when I have a positive outlook for the season ahead and that is the same this year. I see no reason for a negative attitude and am confident of a positive season ahead. One thing I would like a big improvement on which affects all teams is the standard of refereeing which has been very poor.
  22. I would like to see Brechin do well this season after the horrendous one they have just had. I would hope that does not affect them and they can at least challenge for a promotion playoff spot. I have a soft spot for both Brechin and Montrose as I used to go to see both when Utd were not playing or away from home, when I used to stay up at Inverbervie.
