Just read the Chris Kane article in the Courier and it says Craig Wighton is out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Having watched the Rovers with similar injury issues last season, i really feel for you guys. Probably going to get some stick for saying this but i hope you don't go down this season as if we fail to go up, i'd really like yourselves and ( if they don't do a spectacular bottle job ) Falkirk in the same league next season.

I remember the scoreline being 4-1 and the Kirkwood goal, but i was convinced we had won that for some reason.
The guy that put the bet on was in the main stand and we were in the stand opposite. I remember the guy doing starjumps when the 3rd and 4th goals went in

Obviously would have liked him to stay rather than go to another team in the same league but feel that he would have been used as cover given the imminent return of Watson to the fold. We saw he wasn't in Ian Murrays long term plans given the fact he was only offered a deal to the end of the season and after the Partick game, he was dropped in favour of Brown only to return due to moving Brown back to midfield after Stantons injury.
One thing that i will say though is i have every confidence that Ian Murray and John Potter will have been working behind the scenes for this eventuality and trust them to do whats best for this club going forward. It's not like during John Mcglynns tenure where we seemed to sign players for the sake of it to make up numbers.

Murray again beaten by his man for a headed goal. Interesting to see how we line up on Saturday, assuming he's out anyway.
It's a bit of a stretch to blame Murray for the goal when there's no danger when the initial ball comes in. Millen knocks it over his own head and Mullen must have had his eyes shut when he went up as he totally misses the ball. When i played many many moons ago, i was always taught if in doubt, put it out. Millen should take most of the blame as he could have put it out for a corner or throw in instead of a half hearted over head kick when he doesn't know who's behind him.

Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say you were beaten by the better team. We could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored. I'm just disappointed that Utd have faltered and we've not taken advantage again.

Goodwillie situation...
... endorsed by a sizable number of the fans
I'm sorry, your fanbase can continue to slag us for signing a rapist as long as you want but to say that it was endorsed by a sizeable number of fans is ridiculous nonsense. The vast amount of Raith supporters over various social media channels were disgusted by the signing and vowed not to return to the club while he was here. The reaction of the supporters and resignation of multiple people within the club spectrum meant this filth never stepped foot on the pitch for us.

Apparently guys who were in hospitality kicked off at them. Probably Duncan Ferguson's family.
That's crazy. Some of the nicest guys around. Really puts a bit of a dampener on a great result.

What happened with the RaithTV guys after the penalty? Couldn't make out what was happening.

You do know that money has to be spent on people who do stuff other than kick a ball about eh?
I heard a figure last night for one non-playing member of your staff. Eye-watering.
Anyone could make a figure up out of thin air and claim to be in the know. Truth is nobody knows apart from the people within the club.

This 18 year old, with the way you've mentioned him must be a key player who's played lots of games right? I mean if he was a youth player who's not played many, if any minutes it would look very silly of you to give that signing so much relevance.
I mean, no team who has ever had significant funding from there owner has ever signed a youth player!
There'll be no concerns over the clubs future, Dean McKenzie left Kelty in a much better place than what he left them, but christ there were no questions about how he got them there, and it wasn't the increased attendances and commercial activities that led to the likes of Dylan Easton, Nathan Austin etc signing for the club. And dare I say it, if you had asked a Raith fan during that time why Kelty were rising through the levels and signing these players the answer wouldn't have been "Oh well they must be selling more hospitality". f**k knows why they're now trying to claim that after posting losses for years, that the slight increase in attendances has offset the off, and on the field spending. They've every right to enjoy it because as I said, I don't think there's any risk of Dean McKenzie leaving them up shit creek, but the whataboutery about their obvious increase in player budget, when they were already spending more than they could afford on players is making some posters look silly.
The only concern I would have for the playing side is if Murray left, they consistently appointed pretty poor gaffers during their tenure at Kelty, they've came to the club with a good manager in Murray, they'll be hoping he lasts the season.
The 18 year old was signed as cover due to injuries/ suspensions. He's been on the bench and used sparingly as he's not ready for this level yet. Surely if we're throwing cash around as you claim, we'd have went out and signed an experienced player to cover that position instead no? If we're splashing cash, we wouldn't have lost Jamie Macdonald due to asking him to take a pay cut, lost out to George Stanger to Ayr United ( allegedly ) nor lost Tam Lang and Brad Spencer to Falkirk for more money but aye, we're splashing the cash.
Edited to add:
I'd love to know exactly who we're splashing the cash on... One striker from Livingston, A goalie freed from Hibs and a load of Championship/ league one players.

You are so wrong with your statement. Our average attendance outwith the games against the Pars and Utd are 3k add in 12k for those two games then our average is considerably higher than 2500. Hospitality at those games is full, sponsorship at games and around the stadium is also up on previous seasons. Also remember that the floodlights at SP are on every night with the pitch being used. No expensive loan signings from down south that needs accomodation like previous years. And in terms of Hamilton he was on loan at Hartlepool he was a Livi player.
You're absolutely wasting your time trying to discuss anything with Pars fans. They're akin to Old Firm supporters that they get an idea in their heads and its absolute gospel, they'll continue to spout the same crap over and over despite info to the contrary. They're trying to find an excuse as to why we're better than them just now and the only one they have is the lazy rhetoric that we're chucking cash at a team who signed an 18yr old from Kirkcaldy and Dysart.

The pars no3 is an utter tit. Nobody knew what was happening at the corner at the end and he went absolutely mental, totally lost the plot . Anyway, poor performance from us on the whole. Last years team would have lost that match. Delighted with the 3 points keeps the pressure on UTD. Have a nice weekend Rovers fans.

Concerning that Watson was at game today on crutches.
They were Corrs crutches. Watson, Corr and Mathews were all sitting at the front of the stand.

Laughing at this comment. Your number 2 went down holding his face trying to get a Raith player sent off when there was a slight push on him.

It's fantastic to see a young local lad being given a chance, It's even better when he's a Rovers fan too. Delighted for the boy and hope he goes on to be a first team regular in the not too distant future.

Had it on for less than 7 minutes and the Pars boy has claimed they don’t see us as a derby, they weren’t in for Byrne and we’ve spent a fortune this summer. Not letting the facts get in the way of a tear stained rant. Boy is a rocket.
Is this the boy @Hambo_par on Twitter?

Deja vu from last season with people losing their heads over incoming players. We've had some fantastic signings so far from the new owners and I'm sure we'll be close to some more. Have a bit of patience.

Expect Millen in for McGill to be the only change.
Seen a few people mentioning this. Thought McGill looked a bit off it at the start of the match but just got better and better as the game went on. IMO it would be harsh to drop him for Millen. Let Millen take his time and come back from Injury when we have the Luxury of McGill and Masson able to play the same position.

The Queens penalty reminds me of a similar one in the mid 90's V St Johnstone where Shaun Dennis slid in the box and it hit his arm. All these years later and I'm still unsure as how you can slide tackle with your arms by your side

My son and I have season tickets. We both think this is brilliant from the board. Surely any initiative that helps encourage people who maybe couldn't afford to go to many games come along and help potentially grow the support of the club must be applauded.
