Let’s take your ridiculous premise to be true,  if someone has an illness and the cure to all the further health problems is to let them be happy,  then why the f**k would you oppose this, or even care?

This guy gives a good account of the issues relating to vulnerable children.

The stuff about pro nouns, clothes, changing rooms, toilets etc i'm fine with. If adults want to have surgery and hormones then fair enough.

The fact that this topic is dominating our national politics despite the fact that there is no set definition of gender or gender dysmorphia is something I find a bit strange. I'm in double figures in down votes on that post and not one person has replied with an answer to what gender dysmorphia is.

Not a mental illness, as per your own quote.

I’ve no idea, I’m not a medic. However I’m more inclined to take the word of the NHS official website saying it isn’t than an attention seeking tinfoil milliner on a football forum

It has to be something and there aren't many options.

  3. I don't see Rennie taking and I don't think he's suited to just working with the players in the Test windows. At Glasgow he got a lot of out the guys who were always there and very little out of the players who were in and out of camp to join up with Scotland.

Your current "tariff" is heavily subsidised. It's currently projected to be around the same as now by Q3 without any subsidy - i.e. they are already coming down.

I'll believe it when I see it.

UK Gov/BoE predictions are usually made for political reasons.

    You're not this thick.

I'm smart enough not to give a f**k what gas spot prices are in Amsterdam because that makes zero difference to my bills.

Our bills will not come down and the energy support scheme will be phased out.

The areas where you’d have no chance of getting an affordable home will probably stop you building a Trailer Park anyway as it’ll be NIMBY!

The article does say at the end they want to create a new planning category between residential and fixed caravans.

Trailer park owners in America make a fortune and it's probably something that is inevitable here given where we are politically.

  7. White Noise (2022)

A shite and fairly pointless adaptation of the Delillo novel. It's probably a better watch if you've not read the book. Why anyone thought it was a good idea for Noah Baumbach to direct this is beyond me.

It ends with a completely forgettable new LCD Soundsytem song is unintentionally the only part of the film that channels the book.

    Trailer Parks but for hipsters.

These are my favourite genre of articles where the media takes something dystopian - in this case living in rented wooden box in a field - and tries to make it sound aspirational.

The guy who grew up in a 7 bedroom Victorian villa, works 6 days driving a lorry and can't afford to buy a one bedroom flat so he's spending 30 grand on a wooden trailer to park it on "land his parents own" seems totally legit....

Kinghorn will still be playing at 10 even with players being injured in the back 3 and them being his more natural positions

He was on the wing for Edinburgh last week and again for the trip to Castres.

“Well, they took all my marketing money away because they were afraid that the show would reflect badly on Amazon,” Refn tells Vulture. “They told me that directly. They were so shocked by it. I was like, ‘What’s so shocking?’ They said, ‘It’s going to make us look bad.’ And I said, ‘But I don’t think anyone’s going to look at you at all.’”

“Certain parts of Hollywood are so self-absorbed that they think they’re at the center of the universe,” Refn continues. “The rule of fear is very dangerous. Amazon released the show, but they said, ‘We will bury you.’ And so they did. However, you can’t bury a diamond.”

I would love to know how much it cost to make, how many people have watched it all and what happened when they showed the Amazon execs what they had made.

He says Netflix are still talking to him which is good news. He's the only person working in TV who seems to understand the potential of making shows for high quality wide screen TVs. Everything else looks like shit in comparison.

Benjamin Mendy found not guilty on 6 counts of rape.

Still faces a re trial on another country of rape and attempted rape on which the jury could not decide.

Some of the stuff coming out is wild. One of the accusers returned to his house 15 times. Another one approached him in a club and started grinding on him the night after alleged rape.

The defence also played a blinder introducing a video of an accuser having consensual sex with him and his mate during the trial after the jury had heard the prosecution make allegations which were shown to be completely false.

We obviously don't know about the other charges but on those ones he has been harshly dealt with. They never should have came to court.

I actually quite liked Only God Forgives. Kinda swung for the fences a bit with it, admired him for that as he could have played it safer after Drive being such a success.

Valhalla Rising is good too, much preferred it to The Northman from last year.

Only God Forgives is great as well and you have to hand it to Gosling for embracing NWR's depravity but the Pusher trilogy makes you feel like you are buying gear in a dodgy strippers in Copenhagen or Hamburg or Amsterdam and not many movies go there.

I'm currently watching Copenhagen Cowboy and rewatching Too Old To Die Young so I'm Refn'd out my nut. TOTDY is incredible, it should not exist.

I watched Chinatown the other day, which is class, but is the sequel any good ? The fact that it was made 16 years later has got me a bit dubious.

Got myself a wee BFI subscription this week to broaden my viewing horizons this year. Started off with Pusher II as I'd watched the first before, but not the sequels. Big Mads is great and the film is an excellent example of what can be done with a small budget.

Pusher II is amazing. It's my favourite Refn film.

It's also maybe the only decent depiction of coke addiction i've seen on film.
