  1. Not wrong regarding Edinburgh City although is there other factors at play there? It is a major city. Hard to know if that would be the case for every team. Where would Darvel find these new fans? Are they sitting waiting in Kilmarnock and/or Hamilton? Btw, as I said above i think we're about 50'years too late for a lot of ex Junior clubs. Can also see a lot of ex West Juniors arriving in the LL and juggling not to be promoted.
  2. As somebody that saw the occasional game at EK and Cumbernauld Colts the problem for me is/was they ain't exactly nearby unless you live in the vicinity, certainly by public transport anyway. Both of those clubs are very much on the fringes of Greater Glasgow. The same could be said for Kelty or Talbot and even a Darvel. Even a car owner would find Darvel awkward. I just don't see them getting much more than 300/400 for an average League game. Are we just replacing a Berwick or Brechin with something nearer the Central Belt. I'll happily pay 7/8 quid to watch say Pollok but would i pay double that to see them play Albion Rovers, no thanks. Truthfully i think the pyramid has came too late for a whole hosts of ex Junior clubs. Cambuslang/Petershill/Irvine Meadow being three examples.
  3. Who thought that idea up ought to try for First Minister.
  4. TJ and his cadre probably stalled the Junior entry into the pyramid for about 5 years. You can still see that Junior mentality showing up in the WoSFL with the pantomime of the newcomers. You can build a Wembley but if we don't like yer face you ain't getting in. What the f**k is that all about?
  5. Thanks PC, a bit more clearer. I noticed on one newcomers social media account a local councillor doing the whole high 5, well done lads, great brilliant blah blah blah. And then somebody said, "I hope councillor you will be doing everything possible to help this club regarding getting a home ground with facilities to match". Silence.
  6. That idea about the newcomers that tick all the boxes go into Division 3. Does that mean there could be 25 or more clubs in the bottom league? Strange one if based on16 teams in the top league and so on.
  7. One consolation, it's cheaper to watch a HL game.
  8. No answer to how many teams will be in division 3 if all 9 newcomers are excepted. Sadly i don't think the old Junior mentality has left some of these guys. Imagine going all out to get things up to grade and then losing out by one vote.
  9. I don't think Queens Park need to worry about this decade but fair play to you for noticing the sharks circling below the SPFL water line. I've been a regular at mostly Junior games for decades. I always said if there was a pyramid then certain League clubs would be in danger. That has now came to pass. I do smile at those who think the LL is a far as you can drop. Have these guys not noticed the WoSFL/EoSFL. My standing joke is Rutherglen Glencairn v Clyde in a league game. Some people seem to think I,m talking SPFL2 or LL. When i really mean in the WoSFL.
  10. Don't want to say, i told you so. How about it, gogsy, was i right or was i right?
  11. How many teams will be in Division 3 if all 9 newcomers pass the grade?
  12. I'll give a few years and the likes of Albion Rovers will have a hard time not being relegated out of the LL and into the WoSFL.
  13. Hey gogsy, did Kelty vote for the Weegies? Nice one.
  14. Maybe ground share with the Jimmy Johnstone Academy.
  15. I thought you were young. Never realised you were two generations away from Dundee Hibs.
  16. Saw him a few times around Glasgow at youth games. Take it he was watching his grandson.
  17. Where exactly in the middle of nowhere is it?
  18. I wouldn't describe being miles off promotion just fine. High possibity both clubs could end up relegated again this decade.
  19. It ain't only the SPFL league teams that need to worry about relegation. So to will the LL clubs. You could fill the LL alone with ex Junior teams. I don't know if a BSC (Glasgow) or Cumbernauld Colts could handle the WoSFL.
  20. Most clubs going down wouldn't seriously damage them although there's one or two i seriously worry about. Small things like, who owns the stadium or is a leading shareholder owed money which in turn could force the sale of the ground. Could the club survive with no home ground? Albion Rovers look the prime targets for the drop but so do a few others a lot further up the leagues. If it can happen to Rangers, it can happen to anyone.
