  1. Well, here are the released player lists from England so far, if anyone is really bored and fancies starting some rumors. West Ham have announced theirs, so who knows?!: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/61358799
  2. Should probably explore the football manager contract options of extensions kicking in after x games and other clauses like that, if they are somehow viable in the real world. A lot of it ultimately comes down to the player being willing to sign on the terms offered however. It could be that they prefer 1 year deals?
  3. Here's the emptied list: https://www.airdriefc.com/2122-news/220527/squad-movements
  4. well, not sure what to think about that one, will be interesting to see how it pans out i suppose!
  5. This is turning into a very underwhelming close season. Club need to clarify what's going on with the playing side of things instead of telling us about new pitches being laid and sponsors.
  6. Alright here goes, doubt there are too many surprises Attempt to Keep (or sign if loanee): Murray - Finally got the squad playing as a team, still areas to work on, but doubt anyone else would do any better. Agnew - Mostly as assistant, but keep his playing registration valid as backup Currie - Needs to show some development, but fine for this level. Fordyce, Paterson, Watson Easton (priority), Frizzell, McCabe Afolabi - Doubt he will score a lot, but I think he brings some playing qualities that we are otherwise missing up front, Gallagher, Smith Ambivalent: Cantley Kerr - Decent but always injured, MacDonald McDonald, Devenny, S.McGill G.McGill, Allan, Kouider-Aissa Release: Lyons, Walker Ritchie Pyott - This guy still being with the club for so long is almost meme-worthy. Hope I didnt miss any. Edit: If the club are able to retain the bulk of the management & squad, the aim really needs to be to win the league and not bottling the bloody playoffs again.
  7. hope we can go up and maintain some stability in staffing and squad, don't think we will see a season with a 20 game unbeaten run again in a while!
  8. If it were me, I would try to give the existing squad a chance if going up. The only guys to move on are fringe the players who don't really get a game and are unlikely to break through. Agnew - Assistant Manager therefore why not keep as a backup? Gallagher - His strength is getting into positions. He scores goals, keep him around. There's definitely a discussion to be had around the perennially injured. Surely Pyott needs to move on, for example, given that he is always injured and isn't getting in the team anyway.
  9. Devenny, bit of a mystery signing, not sure what the benefit is other than someone to keep the bench warm, but who knows? happy to be proven wrong. Afolabi; Celtic signed him on a 3yr contract in 2019, so must be in the last 6 months of it, and at 22 playing on loan and for reserves - surely must be coming into the squad looking to get clubs interested in him for next season. Seems to have done very well at youth level but middling for senior teams (I guess Ayr didn't fancy him and sent him back as wikipedia has him on a season long loan?). 6ft 2, could be a physical presence?
  10. Disappointed with the lack of a deadline day signing, clearly Murray was hanging his hat on McInroy and didnt actually have a plan B. Not sure that there's much of anything floating around at the moment in the free transfer or loan markets If Allan being PoM translates into motivation and more goals, I'm all for it.
  11. The worrying thing about last night was that we are back to being complacent and thinking a 1 goal lead is enough (and doubly concerning that there were no lessons learned from the first equaliser). That said, we aren't going to win every single game. That that said, we should always be beating Clyde. So not sure what to make of it. Room for 1 more signing I hope, preferably someone who can command influence on the park.
  12. Good signing, will be interesting to see how he has progressed since leaving for dunfermline
  13. I think it's in bad taste and I don't really understand why they do it other than perhaps to be controversial, but moaning about it on a forum is more likely than not providing the very attention they are looking for.
  14. Death, Taxes, and the entirety of the Airdrie support being expected to be the moral compass of the universe. The three certainties in life.
  15. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/celtic-loan-star-update-airdrie-25965018 McInroy, and a left back please!
  16. Good Riddance to Rico. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Looking forward to 2-3 new signings (hopefully including McInroy) as surely that's the minimum to at least fill the bench.
  17. McInroy is the player we all wish we had in Thomas Robert, lets hope we can keep him with us for a while yet.
  18. But I was told in this thread when McCann pissed off to Falkirk that left back wasnt that important!
  19. Too many players who think that its ok to coast while form is good.
  20. Except for against Falkirk for some reason, Murray's teams (at this club anyway) seem to struggle in important/big games. They always go very flat and deliver an underwhelming performance. Not sure if its an inability to motivate, or players believing too much in their own press, but there is usually a struggle to step up a gear.
