This squad is going nowhere fast and are starting to look like a league 2 side. The manager making a load of signings to warm the bench and lack of basic tactical understanding are both mysteries, and the team's lack of resilience is quite frankly unparalleled.

You might have a point there if the track record for McCabe signings this season actually improved the side in some way as opposed to ranging from abysmal to mediocre. Theyve generally been the level of rubbish I would expect to be signed to pad out the likes of Clyde's squad. Regarding "plenty of time to get more". People played this same tune over the summer, and we ended up with a lightweight squad, with very few new signings who could be considered to be of reasonable quality, who have us where we are right now. Ergo - cynicism is well deserved regarding current player recruitment. Thirdly - it is a complete and utter mystery as to why we need a forward heavy team (signing a 7th striker who cant get a game in England's 10th tier... really?..) when defensive capability is sorely undermanned and lacking in options, form and quality.

If the players we have were good enough, we wouldn't be 6th, regardless of age. Also - at this stage of the season, if we aren't signing players who will start games rather than backfill considering where we are in the league, the club are doing it wrong. I'd go further and posit that the current team are considerably weaker than any of the past 3 seasons squads

While results have been good on the field, I don't think it's the right approach to treat lack of depth in the squad as anything less than quite concerning at this point. Some people seem comfortable for any future signings to be deferred till next summer by the looks of things, but with few options on the bench and no cover for injuries and suspensions it will really damage the clubs ability to accomplish anything with this season.

Looking at the squad list, could really use an additional defender as there is zero cover for any injuries or suspensions in that area
