  1. I thought exactly the same thing. Trying not to get my hopes up, but the fact this 'offer' runs till early November, combined with the eaelier post highlighting the women's game in late November being at Lesser (which could of course just be an error on the website) has me wondering if they are now working towards a return home around that time.
  2. That land has been used by the police since the 1930s there is no chance of that being developed by queen's Park. It's already being developed by Queens Park. We're now the main lease holder and use it as our training base for a number of our teams, as well as for women's and reserve team fixtures.
  3. John Rankin was there too. Suppose that's one of the by products of stand alone Friday night games.
  4. I've never seen that guy before. I genuinely thought he was something to do with Ayr. Either he's someone new, or perhaps he works for Stenny? Did he tell you who he was when you spoke to him in the car park?
  5. David Galt a couple of years ago was another one. It was often Grant or Muir that were team captain as Galt didn't start regularly for Mckinnon.
  6. You were almosr spot on, he's 17 https://queensparkfc.co.uk/liam-russell-signs-apprentice-contract/
  7. Went past Lesser today. It was a quick run round the car park on the way home with the kids so no photos I'm afraid. The steel frame is now up in the SE corner forming the main concourse/ turnstile area, which suddenly makes it look much bigger. Still along way to go by the looks of things, but it's the most significant step forward I've seen in a while.
  8. To be fair, there is now a match report and audio interview with Coyle Jnr on our website following today's Young QP game against Rangers. The interview mentions an upcoming midweek game against Burnley u18's. Hopefully there's a bit of coverage given to that game too.
  9. I agree, hopefully we'll get more information pre game too so that we have the option to go along and watch some games. I won't hold my breath though
  10. More to the point, pre season game or not, our league winning side for two years in a row shouldn't be losing three goals to Rangers.
  11. I will second that. Although it's another one that's cash only. I was nearly caught out by that the other night.
  12. Thanks for the info. I'll factor in a stop off at the cash machine on the way. Unfortunately, after years at Hampden, I'm well used to vastly overpriced food prices.
  13. So..? Lesser is 3m bigger each way. I have no idea about the average size of pitches in Scotland. I know that Lesser is one of the biggest. Is Ochilview one of the larger ones available and that's why we chose it? Or is it average, or smaller and the size has nothing to do with it?
  14. Thanks for that, I knew I'd seen it somewhere. I realise that the Ochilview pitch isn't the same type of surface as the new Lesser pitch, but what I was getting at was that as there are likely no hybrid pitches available to share, Stenny's new pitch is the next best thing and as you say, better than older 4G at other grounds. That said, I believe Airdrie have just replaced their pitch. I dont know if its the same standard as Stenny but I would guess it might be. Surely that would have been a better option particularly as we've relocated there a couple of times on the past. And re your previous post regarding away support revenue, there would be no issues with capacity for larger away supports at Airdrie. Perhaps our play off victory may have made it less appealing for Airdrie to want to share
  15. Hamilton seems to be pay at gate only on Saturday and the article on the website says to 'have correct change where possible' Do Accies fans know whether it's cash only, or can you pay by card at the gate? What about paying for food/drink? Need to know whether to raid the kids piggy banks for cash again
  16. I thought I picked up somewhere that Ochilview was chosen partly due to availability, but particularly because of the quality and size of the new pitch there being most similair to the new pitch at Lesser. I assume this would be to suit the way we want to play. I now can't remember where I got that from, so it's possible that it's complete nonsense. If that is the case, then the inconveinience (to put it mildly) to fans of the travelling distance and Friday night games may not have been high on their list of considerations. They have perhaps naively thought that giving the team the best conditions to play attractive football and winning games would be enough for folk to stomach being homeless for a bit longer. If that is indeed why Ochilview was chosen, then if those reasons were communicated properly from the start, along with a realistic timescale and transparency about the possibility of Friday night games before season tickets went in sale, it might have given us a bit of understanding of why we're playing so far from the south side and made it a bit more palatable.
  17. Also, part of the deal with the new shirt sponsor may give them the option to sell the kits themselves.
  18. I think the website article announcing macron as the new kit suppliers also mentioned a company that would be dealing with selling the kit in our behalf, that also worked with other Scottish clubs. This could explain why Macron aren't selling Scottish kits directly.
  19. There was a guy filming at the game last night as part of the kit launch (even though we were wearing last seasons away kit again) Apparently he was at the training ground earlier in the day. Sounds like we'll be seeing it before the end of the week.
  20. Yeah I remember that too. Trying to get tickets but seems to be a problem either the website. Is there a pay at the gate option?
  21. That's settled then, I'll bring the kids so they can protect me from the hooligans Thanks for the reply. Hopefully it's a decent game (as friendlies go)
  22. Thanks for that. Hoping to head along. I'm assuming there's not likely to be any hassle if theres no segregation, thinking of taking kids along too.
  23. Do any of you guys know the script for away fans at tonights friendly. Our site says away fans welcome, your site says entry via home turnstiles, is that right. Are away fans in the usual temporary stand?
  24. The cynic in me wonders if there is a deliberate attempt to price out kids due to our fairly low capacity at both Ochilview and Lesser. If we had an attractive offer for low priced kids tickets is there a potential for demand to exceed stadium capacity (especially if we are prioritising full price paying adults). Seems like a terrible business model, but could this be yet another drawback of the stadium fiasco. If we were playing in the south side in a stadium with a suitable capacity for the championship (or been aspirational and built one ready for the premiership) would we be seeing much more affordable prices so we could increase our chances of filling it?
