  1. Because the SFA wouldn't be interested in the hassle and small rental amount we would justify in the Championship. However, IF we are in the Premiership, we would be in a far better position to pay them enough rent to put up with that hassle. For the record, like others have said, I would far rather we play at Lesser with a reasonable capacity than go back to Hampden (other than cup semis and finals of course ) I also agree that we shouldn't be allowed to hop between grounds based on the opposition (or the size of their support) during a season. If we do play at Hampden it should be for a full season while we get Lesser up to a reasonable capacity (if we can afford that). It would of course have the added bonus of hopefully bringing in more revenue through the turnstiles though.
  2. Is Lesser Hampden our home ground? Not yet really. When was the last time we played a competitive fixture there? We've played 2 at 'big' Hampden this season, and quite a few more than that over the last 120 years. Also I don't know where the press get their figures from. The Lesser upgrade is costing £2.5m, which is the money we got upfront from the sale of Hampden. Putting aside all the obvious issues with the project (and the £800K arbitration fee which was paid on our behalf), if we had £6-8m to spend on it as the press keep suggesting, I'm sure we'd be putting in more than 1500 seats, and the suggestion of playing at Hampden wouldn't even be considered.
  3. I never met Martin, but I know his cousin well, and I know that the family have been overwhelmed with the support and tributes from the Club and Supporters Association not just regarding tonight but throughout the years since his passing. Well done to all involved.
  4. I agree. I've actually really enjoyed the atmosphere at Stenny. I just wish it wasn't so far away.
  5. I'd heard that one of the reasons we played the two games at Hampden in December was because the SFA wanted some games there to use as test events for VAR, prior to the League Cup semis in January. Obviously VAR wasnt used in those games, but it was apparantly running in the background. Presumably they needed to make sure the technology all worked prior to the semis. (VAR used at Scotland games is installed and run by UEFA, so the SFA now also have their own system in place this season) Of course it's possible that this was just a rumour, but it would make sense if true. I dont remember seeing extra cameras etc at either game, but I don't know whether they would have been obvious anyway.
  6. Let's be honest, no club in Scotland would say no to a wealthy benefactor gifting them millions of pounds, regardless of whether they're a fan or not. And the fans of any club would also be delighted with the success it brings and would enjoy it for as long as it lasts. Will we still be this successful when that funding inevitably comes to an end? I think we're better placed to do so than most give us credit for, but only time will tell. I remember being jealous of the likes of Cove and Edinburugh City when they were beating us in league 2 with a bit of money behind them, so I fully expect all the teams we pass on the way up to be jealous of us too. We'll just enjoy it while it's still our turn to "buy" success.
  7. Like Morton, QP are also fan owned and we generate our income the same as any other fan owned club - Sponsorship, prize money, player transfers, gate receipts etc ... and also donations from fans, season ticket holders and members. It just so happens that one of our long standing members is a multi millionaire who decided to donate a lot more than the rest of us. We're just lucky I guess
  8. Another genuine question, could Shields play for us were we to meet Motherwell in the playoffs?
  9. Your maths is correct. That kit was indeed for our 150th anniversary.
  10. It was stated that we had one or two targets that we're hopeful of getting in to strengthen the squad, and that a few players that haven't worked out as well as had been hoped may move on. Nothing more detailed than that.
  11. I still have my doubts that Lesser will be finished in time for the game on the 2nd of January, but there was some definite progress today compared to last week.
  12. 2 home games in a week in January (Thistle on 2nd then Cove on 7th). Looking at Lesser, I can't see it being ready by then, but while Hampden would be ideal for us, I'm not convinced the SFA will be too keen on having those games there with the two League Cup Semi Finals the following weekend. 3 away games after that in January then at home again on 4th February, which is probably a more realistic target for the first game at Lesser.
  13. I was about to reply with to say the same thing but you beat me to it. My mate had the same issue as Skyline Drifter so gave me the heads up, but when I logged in I used the procedure Jambomo has described and it worked fine in one transaction. I second the advice to do all the linking of accounts prior to tickets going on sale as it makes the process for both much easier.
  14. Each member needs a separate account, which once set up can be linked as friends and family. When we first joined the SSC about 5 years ago I used the same email address to register both my account and my sons account. I've never changed that, and have even noticed that some of the emails start with "Hi (my name) and (sons name)" so they obviously realise both accounts share the same email address.
  15. I think once we get round to adding the seating above the changing rooms access will be from the pavillion so a lot of the seats will be for folk who are in hospitality in the upstairs bar.
  16. At least it will prevent a long queue of away fans still waiting outside the ground long after kickoff because the guy at the only open turnstile is only taking cash and explaining to each person individually that he is tearing them off a paper ticket from a long strip just in case the game is suddenly abandoned midway through and needs to be rescheduled. (As happened at our league Cup game at New Douglas Park earlier in the season)
  17. https://spfl.co.uk/news/press-release-nohomekit-campaign It's to support a campaign about homelessness
  18. Another furious Raith fan We beat the "big boys" from Fife in the play off semi final back in May.
  19. Hopefully he scores another few and they re-call him in January
