There's been no formal announcement that we've triggered it so I suppose the assumption is we're trying to get him tied down for longer. Would be delighted if we could keep him, a rare bright spot in a forgettable season so far.

Don't disagree mate, I think a big part of the problem is the persistence with the back 3 which limits what we can do with the players available. Looked like we went to a back 4 towards the end today and seemed to fair ok.

Not being funny but what was the alternative? Hammy broken cheek bone, Otoo with a knock and Bene clearly not fit. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Breen played 90 on Saturday, naive to say he's been rushed back. There was clearly no plan to bring bene on today, it was done out of necessity.

Thought that was pretty clear as well considering I literally compared 2 professional keepers.

Rae would be a good signing if it was feasible, despite his frequent brain farts he's a better shot stopper than Mehmet.

Think this is probably a bit harsh, McPake hasn't had a fully fit squad to choose from once this season and still has us in the playoffs with a game in hand. It's easy to say we could nearer the bottom end when results don't go our way but I'd argue our points total could easily be higher if we'd got the luck of the draw ourselves. Just a few examples would be Inverness where we hit the woodwork 8 times, both raith league games where I thought we were more than competitive and had chances to win the game (more so at Starks), Dundee United at tannadice where we were seconds from 3 points. That's just football but we've had our fair share of bad luck and injuries this season. I'm probably in the minority but I don't think we need 4/5 signings (which would never happen in January anyway). For me some cover at CB to free up both Hammy and Otoo as well as an out and out striker (likely a prem loan youth) would see us ok. Bene coming back in either this Saturday or the following will be massive for us and I'm glad to see McPake has learned from throwing him in too early against Raith.

If we signed Ashcroft means we can get Otoo and/or Hammy moved up plus have a bit of cover.

Anyone thinking we should have kept Todorov must not have watched that game last week, Jakubiak can't buy a goal but he's a much better player overall imo.

According to the updates from the supporters meeting Kane is getting shoulder surgery this week. On a brighter note Bene is running and both him and Breen are expected back before Christmas. They also said Tod should be back involved soon, Moff and Summers are both in full training. Fisher in a moon not but not as serious as first thought.

Would be surprised if this wasn't the exact 11, not ideal having literally only 2 senior outfield options on the bench.
